It's funny: Pixar initially used the Dreamworks face because at the time, there were no 3D animation to really go off of to make sure a 3D character looks 'alive'.

They did it at the time in order to make sure the characters stayed expressive, because that's all they could do with the limited technology.

As Pixar grew and got more sophisticated, they clearly stopped needing to rely on that trick, while Dreamworks kept using it out of habit.

Dreamworks focus on making movies that are funny. That is the end of it. That is what they do at Dreamworks. Its in the fucking name. A DREAM WORKS by being a short, entertaining series of images that you tell your friends about then forget the full details of shortly after. That is exactly how their movies work. It is by design. Shrek 4, Ice Age 4, Boss Baby. They are all LIGHT COMEDY movies designed for families and children.

Just because it isn't some try hard, desperate to be mature Pixar shit doesn't mean it will be bad. If Pixar tried to make Boss Baby they would fail. Knowing Pixar (or 'Chicken Pox-ar' as I call them, because chicken pox effects adults worse than kids, just like Pixar movies which have no effect on kids due to being tryhard 'mature' shit) they would start the movie with a 20 minute scene detailing the Boss Baby's birth, showing it struggling to contain its depressing when the nurse at the hospital rejects his orders to put him back in his mothers vagina. Then we would flash forward 8 months to a baby who has 'grown' and is trying to become a 'boss' so everyone will listen to him and he can take over the world and make the government build a giant replica of his mothers vagina for him to live in.

Dreamworks won't do that. We will make a funny movie, focussing on satire and making chidren laugh. It won't get any 5 star reviews worshipping its 'themes' but that isn't the point. You laugh more watching Ice Age than you do watching Toy Story. Bee Movie and Flushed Away had more laughs combined than the entire Monsters Inc Trilogy.

Just because you are 'mature' adults doesn't mean you get to attack Dreamworks for remembering what animation is supposed to be.
