Jack was just a motivator, something that caused the events of the comic to happen. Without him, the beta kids wouldn't have had their session.
LE was just a player of SBURB who was simply trying to play the game before being attacked by 8 different teens for evils that he hadn't committed.
Hussie on the other hand, ended the comic with Act 7, in the belief that what he did was good. A villain that doesn't know they're the villain is the worst kind of evil.

I think the story could have benefitted greatly by cutting down the screen time of the Alpha kids and treating them more like secondary characters. It's honestly not a bad idea to just jump straight to Act 7 after Cascade, and spare yourself the disappointment.

Act 5 Vriska plays the part of the somehow-lovable insufferable asshole and dickass villain to the hilt, and speaking as someone who isn't even much of a Vriska fan, she's one of the standout characters of the entire comic in that act.

Act 6 is where everything falls apart.

Revolutionary Girl Utena has a puzzle aspect to it, as does the crying of lot 49 per some poster who may or not have been pinecone a while back.

the serial format makes things harder. Kill Six Billion Demons takes reader input and is rad as hell/heaven/a thing with an angel with gender issues can be. Paranatural updates slowly. Worm has a central puzzle underlying powers that resolves very well; Twig is more character-based and maybe even better. I also really like Evan Dahm's atmospheric wtf thing Rice Boy, though that's done, so Vattu is currently going instead?

Making a character 99% their backstory with little purpose or actual use is pretty much pure bullshit. If he was going to be a pointless sidenote, allude to him like the Ancestors or use him briefly like the Dancestor Trolls. Don't make your main antagonist completely irrelevant to the story you're telling and the characters that oppose him.

If you don't make it in as a drawer theres a new audience feature that lets you vote on shit.

All you need to play is a tablet/mouse+browser window/whatever you wanna draw with.

How the game works is you're given prompts to draw similar to pictionary but you're limited with the games drawing tool and have a limited time to draw the weird thing you're assigned. Players enter what they think the drawing might be then vote along with the audience on what it could be and points are assigned.

I've done a few quests for Katawa Shoujo General and it was all improv. Especially on 4chan people like to see direct results from their suggestions.

But you always, always get a better plot from planning stuff out -IF- you can write a good plot. If you're new than you should go full improv and take not of what plot elements people react positively to.

It's a browser based grinding game with some massive and fucking awesome lore, down to Homestuck scale cosmic stuff, that you'll love to piece together. The writing is incredible too.
But then the early game is really light on lore, so I suggest you crack Sunless Sea (or buy it if you want to, it's on sale right now). It's set in the same universe and lets you get straight to the lore-y stories. Gameplay is closer to an exploration/trade game (just turn off the pointless permadeath and don't hesitate to mod up your ship's agonizingly slow speed).
I could go on an autistic rant about how fun it is to try and understand the plot. Give it a shot!

To be perfectly fair, Nepeta and Equius along with Eridan and Feferi are all the most disposable of the trolls. The problem is they werent developed well at all individually and they werent utilised effectively as secondary characters as a way to enrich and develop the main cast or the plot. Had they done that their deaths could have been much more meaningful, but Hussie just didn't know how to effectively utilise secondary characters as the story went on. Thus characters like Nepeta and Equius who were barely characters without a lot of digging and speculation got the short end of the stick narrative wise.
