There must be some kind of bot that can autodump storytimes by now
So yeah, I took a brief break from Abba, because with a cover like that how could I not?
Also, how cool is this?
>>83988046
>>83994749
Probably, but then I'd miss all the riveting commentary! And that was not sarcasm.
So, with SDCC nearing I'm thinking of contributing to this year's Weekend of Pain? Should be fun.
I'm considering The Draco and She Lies with Angels.
>>83994858
Hmm, would it be something X-related?
>>83994877
Yup, see next post. On that note, any suggestions?
>>83994898
I was thinking of some greg land stuff. Or, perhaps you would lay claim to Ultimatum. It is a Magneto story after all.
>>83994898
Oh, or maybe late 90s (onslaught, the twelve)
>>83994946
>>83994974
Onslaught would be a pain in the ass, frankly, and I feel like someone is going to do Ultimatum anyway so I'd rather do something new. LAAAAAAAAAND sounds like it has potential, I'll have to search for something truly bad in the writing department as well.
>>83994772
>Also, how cool is this?
It just reminds me how hard it is to find physical copies of the UK Captain Britain comics
>>83995297
It's not even easy to find pirated copies of that comic! Hence why I never bothered in the first place.
>>83995328
It'll be good that the other anon is doing it. I think some of Moore's run is relevant to Excalibur
>>83995451
>I think some of Moore's run is relevant to Excalibur
It is, yes, so thanks for that X-Anon The Second!
>>83994873
>The Draco
Is that a Kurt story?
>>83995506
Yep, it's THAT Austen Kurt story.
Ah shit, forgot I had to walk the dog tonight. I'll be right back, folks.
>>83995521
You could do X-Force volume 2, Liefeld's 2000's return to Marvel. It's only 6 issues
>>83995521
It was bad, but I'm not really sure if it was SoP-level bad.
>>83995107
Is that supposed to be MJ?
>>83995152
>Spin, pelvis thing
Well that answers that question >>83995927
And I'm back. Let's finish this, boyos.
>>83995592
Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure I do have that. Not a bad idea.
>>83995596
I thought it was pretty horrid desu senpai
>>83994858
>Roman Nekoboh
So is his name Hoboken Namor backwards on purpose?
>>83994898
Onslaught
chuck austen run has already been done this year
>>83994858
How about that awful Phoenix story with the
Playstation backgrounds?
the matthew malloy Bendis story is bad enough for storytime of pain but it is too recent.
I think Land usually lands good writers
>>83996611
As bad as Austen's run is for most of the cast, there are some truly great beats for Juggernaut and Northstar.
>>83997002
But Onslaught is such a draaaaaaaaaag
>>83997011
>>83995592
>Pheonix - Legacy of fire
>X-Force v2
I vote for either/both.
>>83997170
>>Pheonix - Legacy of fire
OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHI
ALRIGHT ILL DO IT JUST DONT HURT ME ANYMORE
Jesus Christ on a pogo stick.
>>83997215
It's only three issues!
>>83997166
For the sake of us all, the Onslaught suggestion must be met with a hard veto.
>>83997170
is that XForce the Humphries one with Spiral and Fantomex being divided in 3 people and his female third being a lesbian with Psylocke?
Bunn cleaned up that mess this year.
>>83997276
Three issues too many you mean
>>83997298
No it's X-Force by Rob Liefled from 2004
>>83997298
Nah, this was a mini by Liefeld, I remember it.
Dogfucker's UXF is another nice suggestion, although, while bad, I don't think it's SoP-level bad. By which I mean, it's a boring drag.
>>83997302
It came out around the same time as Trouble. Marvel was doing some mindblowingly weird shit in the early Quesada days.
>>83996564
Holy DiscoBalls! It's Roller Derby Dazzler!
Is there anything in these Dazzler back issues that hasn't had a cultural comeback?
>>83997373
Didn't Austen's War Machine MAX come out around that time too?
>>83997397
Disco? Aside from ironic shit it really has stayed dead since.
>>83997402
Sounds right. He would've been writing X-Men around then and not long after that he was blacklisted
>>83997402
>>83997438
Yep. It was one of the first MAX titles. Austen actually drew and wrote the first volume, which is *kind of* serviceable. The second volume is just......good lord.
There's also an Emma Frost mini from around the same time with ridiculous cheescake covers that have nothing to do with the "Emma as a teenager in prep school" story that's actually happening. Frank Tieri was writting a Weapon X book that was a deliciously mid-tier dumping ground for 90's characters that none of the other X-writers wanted.
Some of the better "forgotten" x-titles from that era include Sentinel, in which Iron Giant is retold with a Sentinel, and SNIKT!, a manga Wolverine mini by Tsutomu Nihei.
>>83997575
Those Greg Horn covers were awful. Not even good cheesecake, just gross shit. Blagh.
>>83997373
Like those official romance comic edits?
That's all for today, tomorrow we wrap up Dazzler!
>>83998122
And an era comes to an end...
>>83994772
My favorite Mark Bright work was The Invincible Iron Man #200 and the stuff he did in the last issues of Power Man and Iron Fist.
>>83994707
Who has been doing these great covers for this and New Mutants? I noticed they had the idiocy not to credit the cover artist.
>>83998358
Bill Sienkiewicz. His signature's hard to read, but his work is unmistakable.
>>83997575
I miss Juston...
>>83994707
OK. That cover is amazing and attracted my attention instantly.
>>83998487
Thanks, should have known.
>>84000741
If I had paid cash-money for that book, with that coverart, and then opened it up to see the comparatively underwhelming artwork that's inside, I would feel cheated.
