Everyone gets along so darn well in FE4, I hope nothing bad happens to any of these characters desu
I haven't seen such a likeable cast since Rekka no Ken.
>>83673286
>The X-Men's Greatest Battle!
Like anything involving the X-Men in this is going to be great.
>>83673420
Hi Julia!
>>83673441
Oh you.
>>83673560
Are they calling Volcana fat? Have they ever seen a fat woman?
Well, hello there, one of the two "major" lasting consequences of this event.
>>83673914
So Enchantress has a corruption fetish?
>>83674256
Dammit man, enough with the fetish talk! This is a Claremont-free zone fer chrissakes!
>>83674042
They try to make Secret Wars sound like it's high-stakes...but it's really not.
>>83674370
E-x-actly! That's my problem with it. Shit doesn't really hit the fan untilDoom gets the Beyonder powers, but by then the event is already ending
>>83674352
I can't help it, all the lack of fetishism is making me twitchy!
>>83674042Peter/Kittybreaking up/ending is an effect
and there's a great Nightcrawler issue down that line that's partily him dealing with stuff from this
>>83674492
That's the other consequence I was talking about. I mean, I guess there's some other stuff but it really wasn't a game-changing event or anything.
Should Deadpool's secret war also be done around this point?
Chronologically this is the proper place.
>>83674552
yeah i looked at the post again and was like d'oh.
there's also secret wars 2 outta this and it is the worst
>>83674627
I'm not storytiming by chronological order, so nope.
>>83674653
Secret Wars 2 and New Universe are the big nails in Shooter's coffin right? New Universe was a failure and he went total control freak in SWII demanding rewrites and even doing some himself for some of the tie-ins if people didn't " get" The Beyonder
>>83674733
Pretty much, yeah.
>>83674733
Secret Wars 2 is hot garbage but I can't just let people shit all over the New Universe. The DP 7 stuff by Gruenwald and Ryan is awesome. I know Shooter sucks but guys like Gruenwald got so much out of that concept.
>>83674401
>>83674428
Jesus Chris, Spider-Man is actually Top-Tier in this event. He and Thor basically have been wrecking shop every time they're in a fight
>>83674934
I like JRJR's work on Starbrand.
>>83674401
This event can't stop sucking Spidey's dick, can it?
>>83674960
I think this might be the era where the head Spidey writer thought people had been writing him as too weak/underpowered for too long so he made sure to show just what he's capable of
>>83675054
He's every kid's favorite! Gotta seel those toys, son!
>>83674934
I hate Secret Wars 2 with a passion but the New Mutants tie ins/aftershock issues are some of my all time favorite comics
>>83675093
"Seel"?! Obviously meant "sell". Jesus Christ almighty...
>>83675117
Klaw reminds me of Gir
>>83673420
It's a shame IS gave up on remaking the earlier games after Shadow Dragon.
>>83675232
They remade Mystery of the Emblem too, but yeah, I have no idea why they didn't keep doing that, it's not like Shadow Dragon bombed or anything. Although Awakening was a monstrous success so I guess in a way they made the right call.
>>83675302
Yeah, but they didn't port it. Which sucks because apparently that one had support conversations, which I like.
>>83675373
Wait, port's the wrong word. They didn't release overseas.
>>83675373
I played a little (wanted to play the original first) and it's definitely an improvement over the first one. It seems they learned their lesson and brought back some of the elements they omitted in Shadow Dragon. Damn shame it never made it out of Japan.
>>83675822
> chippe
That's some old slang. Johnny basically just called her a slut
>>83675893
I mean, he was played by Chris Evans...
>>83674352
>"sheeoot"
That's good ol' fashioned casual racism.
>>83676051
Ha, so it is.
>>83676051
What? They can't say shit in 80's comics.
>>83676267
Pretty sure he's talking about the exaggerated inflection. Think of it as a PG equivalent of "sheeiiiiit"
>>83676361
You never say that?
>>83676431
You know what I mean, the /tv/ meme. Oh, whatever.
>>83676494
I don't, because I don't go to /tv/ after I went on there a few years back and all they talked about were jailbait actresses.
>>83677189
Bah, let's just drop the subject. New subject: what'd you guys read this week?
I personally have not read anything from this week yet.
>>83676431
My family members have said it, it's a regional thing. Kinda like how states bordering Canada have people who don't ever swear.
(also: I miss Claremont! non-perv X-Men just isn't doing it for me.)
>>83677327
Don't worry, we'll get back to Claremontand Dazzlersoon enough
>>83676974
Another big difference from COIE is that Secret Wars only had a select few big names featured, while Crisis had almost literally everyone.
>>83677411
That's what I love about COIE, the epic scale. And they got the perfect artist for it too!
>>83677264
New issues of Island and The Secret Voice were fun. I want to read the Habitat chapters from earlier issues of Island because that ending felt abrupt but it's been awhile.
I also read the reprint of Murder by Remote Control. Paul Kirchner is officially one of my favorite artists. That book is awesome.
>>83677505
I've been meaning to check out Island. The price + anthology concept are a bit of a turnoff but hey, I like Graham's stuff so maybe I should give it a try.
>>83677454
I feel bad holding Zeck up against Perez though, Perez is insane.
>>83677620
I dunno, I feel like Zeck has made some pretty great-looking stuff on his own. Definitely a bad fit for this story though.
>>83677557
The amount of pages make the price worth it for me. If you liked Simon Roy, Matt Sheean, or Malachi Ward's art from Prophet they've been doing cool stuff. Sheean and Ward have been serializing this awesome sci fi story that blends cyberpunk and transhumanism in a way that feels really modern and tasteful instead of forced.
I also really like anthologies.
>>83677721
I used to read DHP but I didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth, too many forgettable stories. Maybe Island will be different?
>>83677264
Ugh, you won't believe it, but I only just got Cap.America: SteveRogers yesterday.
The by-mail company had a run/backlog/whatever and my order got shortchanged until now.
So it was PAINFUL trying to enjoy it after all the spoiler-trolling that /co/ has gotten away with lately.
If something that big ever got spoilered about X-Men books I would lose my shit.
>>83677792
Ah, that's gotta suck. I read Rebirth all spoilered and I honestly wish I hadn't.
That's all for today, tomorrow we go back to Uncanny X-Men! Until then!
>>83675656
Puke, Captain A. get's called out on turning a blind eye to mutant rights issues right after he practically calls the X-Men "you people", so how long ago did the Red Skull brainrape him into being a Hydra bigot warrior?
>>83677874
As always, thank you for this.
>>83674634
Someone mentioned remembering this last panel yesterday.
>>83679292
Yeah, they said they didn't know there was ever anyone other than Tony Stark who wore the suit, I remember having a similar freakout when I first read X-Men during the Blue team and Gold team era.
It took me a few months to figure out the two different books had two different teams.
That, and all I knew of the cast before I started was info from that '80s made-for-TV movie where Kitty Pryde joins the X-Men and Wolverine is Australian.
I can't imagine what today's new readers feel like when they jump in to the deep end on their first X-issues.
>>83673647
jesus christ volcana was hot
>>83680205
Pun?
>>83677793
Something about the building design in this event seems really cozy, kind of like the futurist design you'd see in the 60s or something. I wouldn't mind visiting them even if they were as big as fifty Pentagons.
>>83677874
What is this dark suspicion that Reed is having about Ben?
>>83673438
Poor Spider-Man. Which Spider-Woman is this?
>>83682486
Julia Carpenter. And what are you feeling sorry for Spider-Man for? He gets all the luck in Secret Wars.
>>83674371
Captain Marvel... OF MURDER!
>>83682588
Also, decades of trouble with symbiotes.
>>83677264
I've been reading Top 10. Great book.
>>83675754
This is burned into my mind as one of the first comics I ever read as a kid when it came out. Doom vs. Beyonder.
>>83677767
Does this Storm vs. Xavier thing go anywhere or is it just for Secret Wars?
So did they ever explain where Titania and Volcana come from? Or did Doom or someone just create them ex nihilo?
>>83677475
was this page from a guest artist?
>>83685133
They probably came from the chunk of Denver that Spider-woman came from.
>>83686728
Totally Art Adams.
