But I also want everyone around him to think Bojack is celebrating Peanutbutter's death. Like maybe before he died, Bojack said something along the lines of "I hope they find you dead in the bathtub with a needle in your arm" at a party.

The second season plays back on the first. Mr. PB is one of the few genuine people who is glad of their success and feels lucky he is a success. He loves his job and loves his life. And even in his down time as a shoe salesman, he impresses the right people with his charisma and his good nature.
