I actually really like this book, and the costume is great. I don't get why people are upset about a female Wolverine when it's the clone of the original Wolverine who inherits the mantle, who also respects the original and loves him like a father. Laura's dialogue is starting to feel more natural too, I was growing tired of all the clipped, robotic sentence fragments.

I think part of it is because Bendis so drastically shifted her. If she'd been allowed to develop into what she is in ANW organically, over, say, a hypothetical continuing Avengers Academy run, well, people would still complain, but not as loudly. ANW manages to make her more socially competent and verbose without outright ignoring the character's history. I could see her current self as logical evolution of the Laura who emerged from the end of the Liu run.

But she's talking slightly differently and maybe even making the odd joke! The world is ENDING!

Domino is a girl who likes violence and action and is pretty confident about that. She is mildly sociopathic and doesn't really get shaken by seeing dark shit because of that. Ultimately, she's still a very open and outgoing character, easy to talk to, with a pretty well adjusted moral compass.
I think Domino is fairly accurate. Especially considering that Domino is almost never a centrepiece of any conflict, because she's so at piece with her mildly violent self that she doesn't have any real struggles anymore outside of the action sequences she finds herself in.
I don't see this Laura right here going through any more interesting character arcs any more any time soon.
