The only good things that will come out of this is the porn, I can feel it. And I say that as a rabid Star wars fan who liked the unironically like the Prequels and enjoyed TFA.

I've had a bad feeling since the teaser trailer. This only enhances it, especially with the news that it will have a 'war film' tone.

At least it might be enjoyable as a spectacle set in Star Wars, and for Vader, even if none of the main cast or the premise interests me at all.

I'm seeing it more as they are going to have a run of terrible spinoffs, and the 'trilogy' films will be a success. I enjoyed TFA, but this...? We'll have to see.

Aftermath's three books cover the end of a 20 year, give or take, rule and show how the next 20+ years get their start. Bloodlines only shows how 6 years prior and including TFA are set up. Until we learn more about 8 and 9, and the plot past those movies, Aftermath will be more important than Bloodlines in terms of what it does. Thanks to Filoni, we know she met Maul at the Seige of Mandalore, along with Rex, at approximately the same time of Episode 3. But that's about it, everything else is a mystery. The next two Aftermath books may be more important yeah. The first one was not so interesting. I think they told Wendig to hold back, as to not spoil TFA. I think Bloodlines has contributed more to the Canon than the first Aftermath did. But you are right, I wouldn't expect too many BIG events in the books, because they don't want to potentially spoil future movies, or nullify Spin-Off's.

The focus, for now, is on the movies, because they're the first Star Wars movies we have had in a while.

It's pretty terrible that those movies virtually ruined his career before it began.
I don't even think his performance was that bad. He was a young kid when he took on the role with no experience of movies of this size. Plus, much of the dialogue he had to work with was hopeless.
His line delivery was pretty poor, but the script didn't help. Looking at him as a physical actor, with his expression and body language, he nailed most of his scenes. With time, experience, better guidance and direction, the delivery would fall into place.
And let's not forget that he was working with green screen 90% of the time, something even accomplished actors can struggle with.

It actually did get an upgrade in season 3, the differences are pretty subtle, though. I think they realized that his head was weird looking, but by then giving him a complete makeover would've been weird, so the just tweaked it a bit.
