A couple reasons, at least for me personally.

1. He does nothing really in the OT, his armor while it has a cool design is ruined by awful colors and he's terribly over-hyped because he "back-talks Vader" before immediately getting shut up. Bossk while he did less was personally the far better design.

2. The EU, and while I have no problem with them making him a character and cool, the EU went full on gary stu with it, having him kill Jedi constantly and even surviving a sarlacc pit, which there are plenty of non-Boba stupid shit in EU, such as Palpatine creating black holes, Luke force crushing black holes, etc.

3. The fans, the fans are the most insufferable part of Boba Fett. They act like all EU is canon and he's a super speshul snowflaek capable of immortality and massive Jedi killings, despite doing nothing in the EU. When Lucas himself said he wasn't a Mando, they flipped their lid and started drawing some of the most autistic shit ever. Such as Boba killing Sabine (a real Mando and Mickey Mouse) and blaming shit on Disney. Flipping their absolute shit at anybody that doesn't like Boba, and just being overly autistic people.

This Poe comic is doing a really good job of using the new canon material. When I saw that little '* Read about this in Poe's short story in Before the Awakening!' in the last issue I had this little epiphany that this is how the canon worked now. Obviously I knew this from the start but it didn't feel legitimate until that moment. These past two years of lore building have led to this moment where you're seeing the pay off for it in the form of this Poe comic using material from all over the place to tie into the rest of the universe.

Sheev took over by subterfuge, he conquered by tricking people into willingly giving him power and loving him for dominating the galaxy. The FO is also considered much weaker and holds less territory. Unfortunately I don't believe it's known just how much territory they hold because the Unknown Regions are largely unknown. The NR isn't about to send in inspectors to make sure they aren't building any new weapons of mass destruction because the FO won't allow it. Early on the NR decided it didn't want to eradicate the entire Empire and would learn to live with some kind of remnant. They didn't want the prolonged galactic conflict necessary to drag them all out and shoot them. Mon Mothma gutted the military to a mere 10% of what they had as the Alliance and what they'd captured by the Empire when it was stated she controlled enough firepower to level any planet she chose. Enough to win the battle of Jakku. She didn't want that kind of power, not a Republic with a military that big or with that much power in the Chancellor's hands, even her own. Most likely to avoid another evil, corrupt, mad, or plain stupid to have total control over the military. She turned it back over to the Senate, so they have to agree as a whole when to use their celebrated fleets that Hux talked about.

The Kanan comic had a "to find out more, read A New Dawn!" too, and that comic is obviously an expansion on the Rebels cartoon.

So yeah, it's taken a few years, but people are really starting to see and feel how everything is connecting, and in a much more fluid way than the EU did. It's very rewarding for people who enjoy reading it all, and it encourages people who were previously uninterested.

I absolutely love it, from the bigger stuff like the Star Wars/Vader comics intertwining, and expanding on the movies. To the more minor stuff, like Rae Sloane showing up in the Kanan comic, or Count Vidian in Twilight Company.

I feel like the LSG felt passionate about building Star Wars like this, and it's paying off nicely.

Hilariously, I installed a content restore and bug-fix mod which bugged the game in Taris for me so I had to reinstall it.

I'm playing KOTOR for the first time, though I think the first BW I played was Jade Empire, and then DAO a few years later.

Downside is that I'm just so tired of the typical BW character tropes by now that I'm not giving them their fair chance, but whatever. I can roll around with the droid and got a Wookie at my side, that's all I need.

No. As Luke was the lovable thumbling hero who you saw grow, while Rey was shown competent in everything they needed from the get go.

When you compare the two, especially with Luke's heritage, Rey just doesn't feel right. She's more powerful in the Force then the son of the Chosen One in her first showing compared to Luke in his first two.

Mary Sues basically don't even change so I'm not sure where you're going with this. Think about character development. Take Rey. Let's say she's NOT a Mary Sue for a second. Where does her overpowered character go from here?

That's not forgetting the entire Republic failed, and Rey is here to fix things up. Seriously, what is the character of Rey? She's basically Anakin 2.0. Everyone thinks about Anakin all the time and how he was in the prophecy. It's funny because Disney copied EP4 to the point of ripping everything off but couldn't even write a proper protagonist. There was any number of ways they could have said she knew how to fly, how she escaped from Kylo and Finn sacrificed himself but no, Finn gets beaten up and Rey defeats Kylo. The only way to make her a bigger Sue is to give her purple eyes and a couple of dragons.

Not really. Clairvoyance is not something someone can do in a fight. Most Jedi didn't even have precognition, and most of those that did weren't great at it.

Anyway, it's just that his design is just to boring/weak to pull me in, no matter if it's a hologram or not. Maybe I'm to attatched to that concept art but he looks almost benign in it, and the golden robes help with that impression. Which is nicely contrasted with his damaged left side.
You could get a "Palpatine with a visible part of Sidious exposed" character skeleton out of that, which would be a nice break from OT Emperor without falling back PT Sheev Sweettalking.
