If you need it more clearly spelled out, she went from 4 N1C3R VR1SK4 to Mindfang, and there was a coherent chain of events that resulted in it. Her ultimate death and defeat was the culmination of Serket hubris that Vriska somehow avoided.

Vriska's Instagram Flash was the single worst thing for the narrative in Homestuck. Her presence makes everyone competent, well-adjusted and happy. It's such a fucking cop out after so long building up so many issues. Dave comes to terms with sexuality, Terezi is well adjusted, Rose isn't in a downward spiral, Gamzee is forever neutralized.

Back in 2013 I talked to a friend about Homestuck (more like harassed him about it, which was extremely stupid of me).
He was like me "oooh, that's what [CLASSMATE] keeps drawing on her sketch book!". We didn't get to talk much but she was p. nice.
She introduced me to an online HS community she was a part of but that place never appealed to me at all and we didn't keep in touch.
Maybe I should have, it's pretty impossible to meet fans of the comic these days. Oh well.
