Something about their skeletal structure really helped round out the rebel fleet. Even the mon-cal cruisers looked sort of organic and asymmetrical like that. Good choice.

In fact, within 5 minutes of arriving on his ship Rey has already let them loose AGAIN. Han is clearly not handling his shit well.

He also lets TWO rival ships sneak up on him and force him into a position where he would have likely died if not for Rey releasing his already poorly controlled monsters.

If the Falcon hadn't been there, he would have just died.

Kylo vs Finn was great. Their power levels felt about right. Even injured, Kylo felt like he was at least as powerful as Luke in ROTJ.

Kylo vs Rey, not so much. Kylo felt like he'd very suddenly been knocked down to about the same level as Luke in ESB, if not lower. Rey, meanwhile, suddenly got pushed up to be way stronger than she should have been, especially considering Finn has more experience with that lightsaber than she does and got his shit destroyed.

Even considering that she's Force-sensitive and Finn is not, and even considering everything handicapping Kylo, Rey still seemed like she had far too much control of the fight. There are ways to make her triumphant in the end without fucking up like this. As it stands, it doesn't feel like she caught him off guard or flew into a dark side rage or anything, it feels like she just beat him in a straight fight, which makes Kylo look like a loser.

My hope for season three is that Sabine get's some actual background information so we can finally see what really happened to her in the past and why she joined the Ghost Crew. I also hope she doesn't become the love interest of Ezra, but I have a sinking feeling that will happen anyways.

I also hope we get to see a strong Imperial villain that can give the Rebels a good run for their money and a bloody nose. I'm sick of seeing the Empire lose so embarrassingly. I don't mind it failing against the rebels and Ghost Crew, but at least make them a somewhat powerful threat.

TCW was incredibly tense at times because, outside film characters, anyone was fair game.
Whenever Savage or Maul got in a fight, you knew it might well be their last.
When Satine, Ahsoka, or even the likes hondo were in peril, you knew you couldn't just sit back and wonder how they'd get out of this one, because their lack of presence in the movies meant that they damn well might not, with Satine being the primary example.
TCW didn't achieve this by pointlessly killing people, but by not pulling punches during appropriate times.

Rebels has a unique opportunity because none of their characters show up in OT era, meaning that there's the potential for incredible tension because the audience doesn't know if they'll make it out again.
That potential is being wasted simply because the audience knows that, unless a massive upheaval occurs, the characters are all layered in plot armour. kanan is a step in the right direction, but if we go back to covering the cast in a safety blanket, the moment loses the effect it should be having on consequent episodes.

Character death isn't all pointless murder for the sake of it.

Ezra had already activated the thing, and he wasn't going to get up there without running into Vader

His only goal was to ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET and he did that. Took the first chance he could to bounce, after planting the proper seeds in Ezra lewd

Maul didn't even get hurt, and he made out like a bandit. I fail to see how he lost. Kanan tossed him off a ledge big whoop, he wanted to leave Malachor that was his entire goal.

I seriously doubt any Force is involved beyond MAYBE he initial super jump for altitude. Seems the repulsorlift has been upgraded recently to allow for personal antigrav. Seems convenient that this shows up after the Lothal Temple was discovered and the Jedi were declared to be growing in their power. They Emperor just assigned them a new toy instead of actually training them better. I wonder if those mini blades come standard or if that was just Eighth Bro's personal mods. Some of them really seem to love gimmicks, like Seventh Sister's droids.

In the original script he survived by (most likely) using the Force to ease his fall, a power we've seen on multiple occasions. However he survived in time to be whoops killed by the Temple firing and turning him to stone while Maul watched. They cut out this firing sequence from the end script so his fate is left ambiguous.

This is my first post on the topic. I'm just pointing out that death does not equal quality.

Honestly, there are plenty of deaths in TCW that make my favorite arcs, like Waxer, or Satine. Good storytelling is what I care about, not how many people die in a show.

If its good storytelling, by all means, kill everyone. But don't put death in just to artificially try and make the tone darker or add tension. That's the point I'm getting at.

Alas, he killed 2 1/2 people in that finale, so I guess Disney didn't think it would be good for the Crew to associate with a killer when they usually go the 'leave them alive'-route.

That's kind of the problem I've been having with the Rebels, the plot armor they have is nearly impenetrable and the only time I feel any sort of tension with the Ghost Crew is when Tarkin or Vader is in the picture. The only times I felt any sort of fear for the Ghost Crew is in the episodes A Call to Action, Fire across the Galaxy, Siege of Lothal and Twilight of the Apprentice.
