Legends works will never return, they're dead.

Individual elements from Legends can and will be re-used extensively, because it's cheaper and easier for Disney to recycle something than it is to make up new shit.

So Star Wars: Dark Forces will never return, but dark troopers easily could. Star Wars: Republic Commando will never be canon, but clone commandos absolutely are, and imperial commandos could totally be a thing.

Legends should not be considered authoritative, but it's not totally irrelevant to the new canon, and it IS relevant to these threads as speculation fuel.

It's weird, the person I went with the first time I saw it liked it, but I'm the person who got her into Star Wars in the first place, so she's kind of a recently converted normie.

My friends either liked it or disliked it, and weirdly enough all the ones who liked it are social justice people and all the ones who disliked it are not.

As for my family, my dad, who saw and loved the OT when they came out back in the day, thought TFA sucked, my mom was indifferent, and my sister liked it.

I myself hated it, but have gradually come to accept and merely mildly dislike it.
