In the episode Jake tells Finn that although Finn sees NEPTR as a microwave it's not the only side of the robot he sees. When he thought deeper about it Son and Friend came to mind. Why he didn't change back when he did think of above.

The same thing can be said with Prubs too. To PB, he saw her as a "teenboy heart throb." Meaning at the moment she also thought about only one aspect of Finn's feelings towards her. Now, it could very well mean he sees her as a bro now who's attractive, or just a bro. But that's only ONE light he sees her in. Who knows what other feelings are festering within him? Maybe if he had those eyes more than one day, or if Prubs said things different to him, he could view differently like Jake turning into an old man (ex. The end of Breezy.)

The crush could still be there, he just knows not to spaz out when rejected like Huntress Wizard. When Finn reaches his mental peak then we'll see whether PB takes the dive.

tl;dr Finn says "I don't know I'm not a psychiatrist!" in the episode. Nobody really knows anything until the writers lay it down in black and white like Jake's love for food.

I liked this episode but I thought it was kind of on the nose with the way they directly told the audience what they thought of people.

Dude Don't Look and Angel Face were for sure above Blank Eyed Girls.

Blank Eyed Girls lacked jokes and was based on a kind of boring concept, literally just "Wouldn't it be wacky if we shoved a bunch of Japanese horror movie villains into Adventure Time?" and it didn'y mesh well.

Great ending but that didn't save it.

If they wrote a Finn resurrection story, I want the "new" Finn to have partial amnesia, having lost memory of every thing that's happened so far since S1.
Seeing how he reacts to all the changes, the new friends he's acquired yet cannot remember, all the character development that the others have gone through since S1.

Meh, seems like an interesting idea but not for the reason you listed. It's not about what the writers think of season 1 Finn. It's what would that be like for everyone around him who has watched him grow and made memories with him suddenly losing all of that, not to mention how fragile his existence as "Finn" would be to them all considering Finns having just died. Red Throne is, if not the objectively worst episode of the show, very damn close. You can at least make the argument for Breezy and Comet but not Red Throne.
