It's like this:
Lion King is basically Hamlet, one of the greatest plays ever written, produced during the height of Disney's 2nd golden age. But, it was made for children, so scary didn't have to be *too* scary. And there needed to be songs.
This is-
It's an amazing police movie. It's being produced during the modern golden age of animation, where things can be for adults, and nothing needs to be dumbed down. It's more *realistic* than Lion King. Despite both being about governmental coups.

Even if she'd suceeded and actually managed to hit him with the nighthowler, wouldn't it have been a bit suspicious to the police that Bellwether knew exactly where and when Nick went savage inside of a closed museum? No matter how it went, she really didn't think this through.

Most of the rabbits seem to be countryfolk and farm a ton of crops. They have to, or else they'd starve to death very quickly. With so many working hands, they'd have a lot of surplus to sell elsewhere. Thus the city thrives.

The real problems will start when bunnies start immigrating to Zootopia proper and taking up jobs.

God I hope so.

It'd be cool to have someone draw or write something up about Nick and Judy having to respond to a domestic disturbance only to find the beaver kid beating his spouse due to low dose nighthowler poisoning, and N&J to have to beat him into submission with batons and muzzle him.

No, she made baseless conjecture off the offhand statement of a doctor who she ease dropped on, who had been unable to find the cause of the madness and escalated the tension in the city by not thinking about what exactly she was saying.

Shit gave her opinion and said opinion basically acted like gasoline on a campfire.

Bellwether was probably mentally orgrasming during that conference because she didn't even have to COUCH Judy to say what she needed

it's not baseless if it's the fucking doctor that was researching it saying there was a biological component, plus it was only taking the carnivores. >it's not baseless if it's the fucking doctor that was researching it saying there was a biological component, plus it was only taking the carnivores

Relisten to her conversation with Lionfart. She was expressing an OPINION based on the fact that she had no leads. In that because she was stumped she had no idea what the cause was, she was likely going to explore possible correlation that might help her find the cause.

As someone with a bit of medical background, a single fucking Doctor's opinion isn't the be all end all and should not be used as testimony for define whatever sickness was occurring.

The correct answer to the question "Is there any way the victims are related?" would have been "At the time, no but we are working to find a thread to tie it together"

But Judy in her unthinking bias who could literally on some core level actually believe "Yeah, Predators can totally revert to being savage monsters with no outside influence" decided to point out "Oh, it's only predators going crazy" because she didn't think that kind of information could cause the flashfire effect it did

Knowing that only predators were being affected only escalated the conflict.

it's based on observation; it was only taking carnivores, so there is something biological going on. She had no leads on how to cure it and on what was causing it, but the biological component is very clear.

Yes, she was. There's a huge fucking difference between, say, "it appears to be some sort of illness affecting so and so," and "every single predator you know is a ticking time bomb of murder." She opened her mouth and spat out blatant falsehoods because she overheard a single scientist mention an avenue of research that at the time was literally only a possible consideration.
>>
>>80914244
You're being willfully ignorant.

In science and medicine sometimes a pattern is just random chance. Without evidence and data to support an idea it can only be pure speculation.

The only evidence was that "all 15 victims were predators." That is not definitive scientific evidence. That is A PATTERN that needs to be investigated and tested to see if there is actually any connection to the disease and one being predator or prey. It's not fucking something you can go "Well, it's something biological in predators making them go crazy"

Judy wasn't being malicious. She was being ignorant and stupid. In that she heard ONE doctor offer up a hypothesis and basically internalized it as 100% factual because "Shit, makes sense to me."

The distinction between predators and prey she made in no way helped the situation. The situation would have been better if everyone was left believing that ANY animal could go savage because it wouldn't have created an US vs THEM scenario

>>80914460
People fucking observed that the "Sun orbited the Earth" for fucking centuries. Observation mean jack fucking shit without fucking scientific evidence to back them up. Observations can easily be biased which is the whole point since the cause of the insanity was no in shape or form biologically influenced.

they didn't know it was an illness. They don't know anything except that it is affecting carnivores. And you're really exagerating what she said. She only told people what she knows. That they were all carnivore. That any carnivore could be the target of it. It is true that any of them could turn and then become dangerous; that's a fact people need to know. Not only the scientist said that, every animal 'infected' was carnivore. It's a very safe assumption to make and that people should know about, because until that point the ONLY thing people knew is that citizens went missing, not that they were turning out to be dangerous. She simply did her job and got shit thrown at her for it.

The moral of the story is don't give into your fears about other people until those fears become real and hurt you.

In real world application, accept refugees and migrants until there's an increase in attacks and terror that can be objectively linked to said acceptance. I'm not even baiting, the only way to resolve these IRL problem is to see if those fears are justified. If not, yay more tolerance. If they are, we have direct evidence and hardly anyone can be called bigoted.

It's why I look forward to the next mass shooting. Only way the gun rights issue if enough people die to come together and settle on one uniform plan.

Throwing in my two cents.
O
You guys are heavily relying on the scientist's when Judy had been mislead the whole film. She had grown up knowing how preds and preys used to be, she was told by Mr. Big that deep down they were still animals, then the scientist opinion.
What culminated in her statements were her own distinctions and her own ignorance on what she thought was causing the savage attacks. The problem was she viewed Zootopia as this place where anyone could be anything, but she chained down predators in her views as animals that are and always have been killers deep down.

they had plenty of cases. The chance to be random is very, very small. If you watch for enough time you could discover that anything could happen at random; dinosaur fossils could all just be put there by some shady organization for people to find. It's a possibility; it's just very small. When you consider so many cases involving carnivores, it's safe to assume being carnivore has something to do.

I'm actually not exaggerating what she said. "It may have something to do with biology" is what she said, word for word, and where she stepped over the line from fact to complete guesswork; it's not a coincidence that this is the line that takes Nick aback. I'm not saying this makes her a bad person or anything, but it's definitely something that shouldn't have been said, as it was less than conjecture at the time. She should've been coached on what was and was not appropriate information to share, but Bogo was probably still being kind of a cunt at the time.

>OBSERVATION SUPPORTED BY TESTING
testing by observing.

'scientific evidence' is just "many different observations on the same topic". As you said, they could all be wrong. The real question is how much observation is enough for you to alert people. I think 15 cases with a common aspect is enough to let people know of what is going on, considering it could be dangerous to them.

100% of the people 'infected' were carnivores. So yeah, there is a biological component to it. It's a very safe assumption. "it may be biological" is right. It may not be as well, but most likely it is (like it was in the movie).

15 people all got sick. All 15 of these people ate at Denny's. Thus you can come the conclusion that Denny's made them sick.
Except all 15 of these people also donated blood at a certain hospital within the span of 2 weeks. They also all drove red cars. They also all voted Democrat.

One fucking pattern isn't enough to base anything one through observation because you have no idea how many things these people have in common.

>The real question is how much observation is enough for you to alert people. I think 15 cases with a common aspect is enough to let people know of what is going on, considering it could be dangerous to them.
A POPULATION OF FUCKING MILLIONS, AND EVEN BILLIONS

AND YOU THINK FUCKING 15 CASES IS ENOUGH TO LABEL 10% OF THE POPULATION AS "MIGHT GO LITERALLY INSANE"

THE POPULATION WOULD HAVE BEEN FUCKING SAFER IF IT HAD BEEN SAID "ANY ANIMAL COULD GO SAVAGE" BECAUSE THERE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN A FUCKING RACE WAR GOING ON

AND FUCK OFF. THOSE ARE OBSERVATION SUPPORTED BY LITERAL TESTING. LITERALLY FUCKING TESTED IN A LAB.

She implied in the initial interview that it's because of the predator's primal instincts, and when talking to Nick afterwards that it couldn't happen to a bunny.

She learns later that a bunny can go ferral, so it had nothing to do with primal instincts and it's just some weird flower stuff. She was talking out her ass in the initial interview.

>You don't hand out "assumptions" at press functions
the very safe ones and that people need to know, you do. Some people could die waiting for the definitive answer. There will never be something like 100% certain. Just these days our ex-president here had some recordings of him saying stuff that could get him arrested. The recordings could still be fake, but everyone reported it as "he said it". In this case it's even more relevant for people to know, since it may be dangerous. Let's say there is a virus breaking loose and you don't know exactly what is infecting people. Still you tell them to avoid mosquitoes. Sincerely, 15 people with one trace in common gives us a lot of base to say "there may be something biological going on".

you do realize the situation you proposed have, like, 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% chance of happening, right? i mean, 15 people having more than one relevant pattern to the case. One pattern on 15 people means a lot. As i said, we work on observation. They could be proven to be false at any time, but the more we get, the more we will call them 'facts'.

>A POPULATION OF FUCKING MILLIONS, AND EVEN BILLIONS
first of, we don't know how many people lived on that city. Second, size of the population doesn't matter. If 15 people got sick after being bitten by the same mosquitoe, do you have to test it on the rest of the population? 15 is a lot to be certain.

>THE POPULATION WOULD HAVE BEEN FUCKING SAFER IF IT HAD BEEN SAID "ANY ANIMAL COULD GO SAVAGE" BECAUSE THERE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN A FUCKING RACE WAR GOING ON
oh wait.. they can't be sure of that according to you. They don't know if it affects "any animal". You know what? let people in the dark. Don't tell them that people may turn out to be dangerous at random. That's your logic.

>THOSE ARE OBSERVATION SUPPORTED BY LITERAL TESTING
testing IS observation, as i said; "i observed in a lab this happening, so it's probably true". Probably.

>DID JUDY TEST HER HYPOTHESIS IN A LAB?
Testing in a lab doesn't mean shit according to your own concept that observation doesn't mean anything. Also, testing in a lab itself doesn't mean shit; many labs come up with different explanations for the same thing. Being in a lab doesn't mean you're right.

scientific backing is just observation as well.

>"If you drink black coffee lock your doors because you're gonna go berserk."
if she was investigating a case of 15 people going berserk right after drinking black coffee, it would be a safe assumption that someone is putting stuff in the coffee to make people go berserk and thus you should avoid drinking it. 15 is a pattern that will rarely be wrong in this situation.

15 people all ate french fries in the last 7 day period.
15 people all had ancestors who were slaves.
A pattern means jack shit until it's been tested.

I just finally realized another thing you're ignoring. Testing means you're able to replicate the results. Was Judy able to replicate her hypothesis before presenting her statement? Observations means shit unless you can get the same result over and over again through repeated testing.

And now you're twisting my words.
Here were Judy's facts
>Animals were going savage
>The Animals who had gone Savage were predators

Here are Judy's made up opinion based on no evidence that incited a race war
>The predators going savage may be biological
>It may be connected to their savage instincts

The fact that I'm arguing with someone who can't use the shift key is pathetic in itself. Say whatever you want, you're dumb rabbit waifu started a race war because she didn't follow the scientific method before making a statement she was in no way qualified to make and incited a race war

Violence stems from economic and cultural points and changing the tools of the trade around doesn't really matter.
But then again you have retards that point to knife attacks and say "well at least he didn't have a GUN".

YES
THANK GOD YOU UNDERSTAND

By marking 10% of the population as "dangerous," Judy basically provided an outlet for the fears and anxiety of the population.

Rather than "Oh god, anyone can go crazy, I need to stay in doors and away from anyone," Judy created the situation of "Oh god! We have to drive out those savage predators to protect ourselves!" and "Oh god! The Prey are all going to gang up on us. We have to band together to defend ourselves from them"

So the uniform plan will be getting rid of gun control. But something. Do you understand anon? Something uniform, not a fragmented patchwork of laws and rights and ideas. One plan to address it all. Or more deaths, whether you like it or not. And I like it, since disliking it has no effect and hurts inside. It's rare that anyone I love will be killed in a school shooting or in a terrorist attack, as said by statistics, but even if I am, what can I do? Nothing. What argument do you have against this? you must take relevant patterns. You could say '15 people are humans' or '15 people have DNA' as well. Doesn't mean it is relevant. If you have 3 patterns of 15 people that are relevant to the same fact; you can be damn sure there is something going on.

>Testing means you're able to replicate the results
you mean "make more observations". As i said, you're just altering the number of observations without changing the way you're getting to the conclusion. What changes, according to you, is just the number of observations you made. 15 is plenty for that case.

>Here are Judy's made up opinion based on no evidence that incited a race war
you said she phrased it as a fact. She didn't. I was merely pointing that out. She said what people needed to know; that "it may be biological", considering the observations they made. Hell, even something as little as "the suspect seems to be black" is based on observation. Are you saying that people cannot say what color the suspect is unless they test him in a lab? "oh, sorry folks we can't show the images on the camera of that suspect because we can't form any assumptions yet since the case is not closed". That's not how it happens.

There's not much you CAN do to prevent more gun deaths unless you want to infringe upon the 2nd amendment or go full commiefornia tier, which is fucking bullshit and ultimately doesn't solve anything.
Its already illegal to purchase a gun if you're a felon or mentally ill, and its already illegal to sell to someone who is a felon or mentally ill.
Out of the millions who live in the US, barely a couple hundred thousand die from gun violence.
I'd say with the amount of firepower available to the public we're doing fucking amazing.

End of the day, more schools will be shot up, more people will snap and shoot loved ones and friends, and more likely than more more terrorist attacks in the near future. Nothing I can do about it, and it's pointless to argue, which is weird since I haven't said anything to warrant it.

You want less gun control? Advocate it. Some asshole wants more gun control? He can advocate it. I just want more deaths so these assholes can come together and work on fixing the problem, and not just shout at each other, feel superior to each other, be smug or whatever else that stands in the way of a solution. That is it.

>>80917134
I'm not voting or advocating any plan. I just want more deaths since that's the only way it can be solved, by having the problem bigger and bigger. And there is no consequence in wanting more deaths, unless you have some way to have police come to my house and arrest me for saying this. Whether I want to or not, it's going to happen.

>>80917224
I didn't realize my fee-fees were the issue. My fee-fee's aren't hurting anymore now that I just accept this is the way things are and will be for a while. It's why I hope for more deaths, so my fee-fee's aren't hurt. Fee-fees meaning feelings, I assume.

I feel like I'm repeating myself because you faggots think I want more gun control when I just want more deaths so the problem can be solved quicker. That's the only way things get done, when the problem becomes so large that it either gets solved or it starts to negatively affects millions of people and the way their lifes are.
>>
>>80917164
Personally? I don't seek treatment because I don't want my gun rights taken away.
People's views on mental illness aren't really one way or the other. There's an overwhelmingly accepting narrative nowadays so that angle of "social stigma" doesn't really hold up. Plus, who gives a shit? One of my coworkers was almost boasting about her self-diagnosed OCD. Many people see mental illness as a snowflake badge, depending on what it is, otherwise you're just going to draw pity, as with depression, hell the most worrying, stigmatizing thing would be schizophrenia. But none of that shit applies what with doctor-patient confidentiality so its down to the patient themselves to keep their shit secret.

Changing how it's handled in pop culture would be a good start. Maybe having characters who need help and getting it? Celebrities coming forward with stories of their difficulties so as to show that anyone and everyone goes through shit and there's nothing wrong with needing help? I think those might be a good start.

If no new legislation could be passed after Sandy Vagina then there's really not much chance of new anti-gun legislation in our lifetimes. Sadly there's not much chance of pro-gun shit either.
The reason why people are confused is because the people who want more gun deaths to usher in legislation are the ones that are anti-gun, anon.
Crime is an eternal, ongoing problem that doesn't have an immediate solution. Mass shootings are just another form of that eternal problem.
You can't really solve a problem when that problem stems from how society is structured.

I'd say she'd more likely use the .38 Model 27. It fits her a bit better as a police officer.

Nick, I could imagine, using some non-regulation gun. As a former con artist, I see it being something a bit flashy and ostentacious, more for show since I could see him preferring to exchange words than bullets. Chances would be that the first thing Nick would do to put a suspect as ease is set his gun down, or even let them hold it. If they try anything, the suspect would learn Nick keeps a second, two-shot derringer like you posted (in some ridiculous caliber) and his 'main gun' isn't even loaded

Thing is, Max and Sam are pretty adhoc, fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants types, aren't they?

A luger might work for Nick as his main gun, but Judy feels like she'd be "by-the-book" as possible (you know, ignoring her tendency to rack up renegade points faster than Sherpard fighting an army of news reporters) and go with what would be a standard sidearm.

Besides, we all know a luger would be the favored gun of Bellwether.

Sieg Heil!

>>
>>80917789
Ah, model 10. I thought model 7 was the standard police issue (in most US cities, or at least was)

As Nick goes, I considered an M1911 or even a DE, but they both felt too practical looking to an exotic looking Wildey. Especially since, as mentioned, the whole point of said gun is that he rarely actually would use it even when it came to firefights and instead whips out something surprisingly discreet and deadly.
>>
>Tfw this one frame looks like it could be from a different movie entirely

Most likely to make her stand out from the crowd, Zootopia is full of compromises to make it work.

Like how there are no primates anywhere because that would lead to questions about what happened to the humans, or assumptions that the monkeys are smarter than everyone else.

Or how they focused only on mammals to make the predator/prey conflict as clear as possible.

in all seriousness, and this is only my opinion/headcanon, I sort of imagine Nick actually doesn't have a lot of what you would call hobbies or interests.

He's a very closed off person, and we see even in the epilogue concert, the way he enjoys it is an extremely restrained, smug/amused look and even with judy's prompting, his dance lacks any real passion.

I sort of see it as another sad side to his "never let them see they get to you" this basically meant any creative outlets he might have had were shut away to keep others from gleaming what's on his mind.

If they make a TV show the main focus will be to make it kid friendly, simple and cheap.
You will never have the kind of layering and adult jokes when it's made for TV. With movies it's a goal to keep the parents entertained too since they have to bring their kids to the cinema and watch the movie with them. With TV, you just plop your kid in front of the idiot box and go do something else.

I'd much rather that they focus all their effort on making a sequel that's as good as the first.

yfw rabbits in Zootopia don't actually have that big ears because of biology, but because it's a cultural thing to keep tying ribbons on the ears while the bunny is a child, which in turn forces the ears to grow, like the African tribes who put plates in their lips, and rings on their necks.

Literally why. The natural progression for two peopl...
two animals that like each other and share such a close connection that keeps growing over time tends to lead to becoming a couple? if they click, it clicks, why would it stop at a certain point and stay walled off "just because" ? Keep in mind this has nothing to do with "SO THEY CAN FUCK AND HAVE 300 BUNNIES" they can never touch each other's junk for all I care, the point is they should be together because it's cute as fuck due to it being a natural and healthy progression for their relationship as it worked it's way from the start of the film to where they were at the end at the concert.

You can only "just be friends" for so long, this isn't like two buddies that hang out here and there or do scams together like finnick/nick, Those two had no indication that there could be anything further, they were just friends that worked together, they weren't growing a bond together throughout the entire film. Nick and Judy went through a lot of shit together and it's so obvious they've grown attached to each other more than just "oh well we're just friends"

Nigga they're practically dropping the L word near the end, yeah it's not in the serious way, but it's being used, and even if that can be used for friends it was used with slight more impact.
>>
>>80918648
So what you're saying is that you don't neccessarily want them to be an intimate couple, but more like a Me and My Shadow type of situation where they're constantly together?
>>
>>80918704
>not an intimate couple
Incorrect. I want them to be a couple, a regular couple like any other. whatever you want to call it. Waifu/husbando, bf/gf, my bunny bae, etc. etc. Just a regular couple that came about from mutual feelings of affection and love. I think people sometimes forget that real deal couples (not just the "well we find each other hot so we date and fuck") are honestly just really close friends that just really really like each other and want each other's company a lot more than just your regular standard friendships that many people have many of at once.

It's not like them being a couple automatically changes EVERYTHING like some hidden switch and now they're no longer friends but something different entirely and drama has to start immediately because of this strange phenomena known as love. It's just them, but they openly love each other due to the natural progression of their relationship leading them to that, nothing more to it.

Also they can hold hands in the streets publically I know, what a sick fuck

>>
>>80918806
Well yeah, that's what I meant, I probably used the wrong word.

I mean they don't necessarily have to be the kind of couple that fucks day in, day out. They can be the kind of couple you thought all couples were like before your parents/teacher explained to you that sex is a thing.

Again, intimate was probably not the right word, but I'm not sure what is. You get what I'm saying now?
>>
>>80919036
They would be the kind of couple that fucks day in and day out though.

Lovingly, and gently, with lots of tender kisses and cuddling.

Pretty sure that's all assumption at this point. I think one of the books mentions that Nick starts undressing, and he can be seen straightening his tie when they exit in the movie. But, I don't think we have any actual confirmation on if it was ever animated.

>No matter how it went, she really didn't think this through.

Duh. That goes for her masterplan as well. Of Lionheart didn't clean up victims then the police would have had a proper investigation and could have found the night howler lab faster.

I think her fatal mistake was that she had no faith in people. She didn't think the police could solve the case, she didn't think predators were good people, and she didn't think people were smart enough to not have to be led by fear mongering.

Given their proportions and how they have big animal looking feet with short legs, shoes would look kind of weird on them. Footwear can work with anthro, but only when your characters have more human proportions.

Gazelle is the only character in Zootopia who wears regular ol' shoes (not toeless battle socks like Judy has), and coincidentally she's got the most human proportions out of any character in the movie.

I'm not sure. Horses are shod in real life to help them carry loads better. Their hooves wear down naturally by walking around, although the shoe protects them from wearing down too quickly while carrying loads regularly, and in general they protect the horse's foot.

These days there are some rather inventive horse shoe alternatives available, which are literally shoes for the horse's feet.

If Judy and Nick got together, would it cause problems? Is it against protocol for cops to date other cops in the same precinct?
>>
>>80919819
>If Judy and Nick got together, would it cause problems? Is it against protocol for cops to date other cops in the same precinct?

There would likely be problems, but I'm not sure how severe. They would have to disclose it with "mammal resources" and there may be rules about fraternizing that would prevent them from working together at that point. Maybe the rules in the ZPD are different, though, and they would only get separated if there was evidence of it interfering with their work.

Dating one's superiors is off limits pretty much everywhere, though. If you fuck your boss you are both going to end up in deep shit with HR.

There was a period in the late 90's / early 2000's where movies were almost universally terrible. Ticket sales plummeted, theatre owners in America had to hike prices to stay in business. In the process of this, they discovered that it didn't really matter if tickets were $4 or $14, the same number of people would go to see movies in the theatres.
Now, films are becoming amazing, and attendance is way up thanks to "you have to see this" and "I won't spoil it for you" types of films. And ticket prices have plateaued, flat lining at $12 to $16 depending on location.

>>80914532 Also, side note, this is a majorly shitty cam rip. Like, people are coughing, talking near the camera's mic, and laughing. Good cam rips require a theatre to be nearly empty, this theatre must have been packed.

Subtract X from each side to find that -7 = 19. Show your work. Tell the teacher that the equation must be a misprint.

You can't have the same variable on each side of the equation when other factors are not equivalent.
Now, if it had been 7X = X + 19, then we just need to subtract 1X from each side (6X=19) and then divide (6X/6=19/6) and we get an answer (X=3.166(repeating))
Fuck, I've been out of school for a decade now, and I knew that.
