Wonder Woman taking on Black Canary, Huntress, Hawkgirl, and Vixen all at once in that one JLU episode. Shit was fucking based.

Even if she were under mind control, I had no idea WW could be such a badass fighter man. And it was a well-animated, well-choreographed fight scene too. Plus it gave me more respect for the others to, especially Vixen.

Batrok is up there with Dr. Doom and Thanos for my favourite comic villains.

I've always had a weak spot for characters like Hawkeye, Frank Castle, and Batrok who aren't enhanced beyond normal human abilities, they just train hard to be good enough. Because of that I find they're more relatable and their humanist cynicism is a welcome relief to the ideals of lofty Übermensches in spandex.

It doesn't really make sense. Why can't people still be motivated to reach their personal potential just because an alien is on the planet?
Why doesn't he do the things he says he can do to be an inspiration for them?
Superman saves people from falling off towers, but Lex could end disease and save countless lives. He acts like only one man can ever be in the news or idolized ever. It's not like there is some conspiracy the media is being controlled by some secret alien menace.

You know, that makes me realize how much Luthor would hate Dragon Ball. Like, think, story is supposedly about practicing and overcoming your limits - but that's bull, because all the REAL important battlers are Saiyans or androids or something like that, and can reach power way beyond what humans are capable of! Krillin or Yamcha could never even try to be something as powerful as them. So what Dragon Ball is really about? Knowing your place and letting the REAL powerful people do all the job? Like, one scene where Mr Satan urges people to give power to the Goku isn't him being useful, in fact it just is perfect exemplification of the idea of "usefulness" human characters have in DBZ.
Luthor would hate the fuck out of this. Would probably love Gurren Lagann though.

Except that's completely untrue. Superman is powerful, yes, but there are plenty of human characters in the DC Universe that have continued to strive to better themselves and do great things. Luthor is just looking for an excuse, a flimsy justification for why he hasn't done everything he says he could do. He's not looking out for humanity's best interests, he's a man obsessed with defeating the only other being that could potentially take the spotlight off of his own accomplishments.
