I feel the same way, I recognise that they got it right in doing no-holds-barred with the profanity and gore, which wouldn't be deadpool otherwise, but from the trailers it seems almost too overloaded, I guess? Kinda like they're just throwing the fact that this is R rated in your face and that this is all the movie will be. I guess it's just a trailer, but I really liked the 2014 comicon trailer because it showed deadpool's more childish nonchalant side, with him doodling on the bridge while singing along to christina agiulera (the cab scene kinda captured the same thing, but not much else did).

Fox just got done fixing the Xmen films timeline, so new origin story for deadpool.

If Guardians of the Galaxy is any indication a larger audience might be more welcome to seemingly one-off stuff like this (even though both are getting sequels) than established continuity stuff since that requires upkeep on their part.
X-Men even with its attempted reboot of sorts is still bogged by a lot of weighty here-and-there to explain things like mutants, how the mutants are seen sociopolitically by humans, the animosity within mutant society itself. Deadpool simplifies it to anti-hero vs villainous organization.

Like with GotG it has a lot but most of it is easy to digest without too much attention or thought. So yeah I wouldn't be surprised if it smokes X-Men: Apocalypse. It would be easier for someone to say I saw this sick superhero action flick without context and get their normals to see it than to convince them they should watch an X-Men installment that may require some First Class and Days of Future Past viewing for context.

I understand it's a trailer so it's mostly comedy but I hope there is still some heavy tragedy.

Actually Deadpool is currently getting written by all of his All-Star creators at the same time in different books, so for some reason, Marvel doesn't seem to mind right now. It's not a total ban or something and not outright sabotage and I'm genuinely sure Marvel doesn't consider any of their writers incapable or a death sentence for comics.
That being said, they are trying to shift the Marvel universe away from Mutants and towards Inhumans at least to some degree. Maybe not completely, but it is hard to argue that it's not happening.
