Rumored details on the plot. Bear in mind, it comes from Reddit.
>The main villain will actually be Norman Osborn with J. Jonah Jameson and Scorpion also being featured. The film will have him declaring Spider-Man a public menace and placing a very public bounty on his head. The bounty draws out various criminals. Many of these criminals will not become the villains they become, but we will see Sandman, Electro, and even Mysterio before they become villains. Jonah hires Mac Gargan, who is not Scorpion yet but rather a PI.
>During a tailing of Spider-Man, Gargan starts to learn more about Spider-Man and gets close to finding out who he is. However we find out Spider-Man knew all along. He finds out Jonah hired him and webs Gargan to the outside of the Daily Bugle, mocking both Jonah and Gargan. Both have a massive ego and are driven by this to defeat and expose Spider-Man.
>Norman Osborn, who believes Spider-Man is his property and wants Spider-Man back; sees on the news of Gargan's defeat. He pulls up Gargan's medical records and deems him fit for his program. He offers to enhance Gargan with what is the Scorpion armor and formula. Norman, Jonah, and Gargan agree to take down Spider-Man.
>Mac becomes Scorpion and is commanded by Jonah and Osborn to bring Spider-Man to them. At this point, Scorpion becomes the primary villain. He nearly defeats Spider-Man once at Midtown High School, but Spider-Man escapes, the second time Gargan defeats Spider-Man and brings him to Osborn and Jonah.
>Jonah simply wants to expose Spider-Man, but sees that Osborn and Gargan plan on testing on Spider-Man/Peter and find out why he was a success so Osborn can create superpowered villains to sell to HYDRA. Realizing that Spider-Man is a force for good, Jonah frees him and they both escape. Once Peter is awake he takes Jonah back to the Daily Bugle.
>Final fight is at Daily Bugle as Scorpion has been enhanced further by Osborn is now insane and simply wants to kill Spider-Man and Jonah. Spider-Man defeats Scorpion.
>The film ends with Norman wanting to proceed with using a formula, but as word has gotten out about Scorpion, he is only able to test the formula on himself.
>>Final fight is at Daily Bugle as Scorpion has been enhanced further by Osborn is now insane and simply wants to kill Spider-Man and Jonah. Spider-Man defeats Scorpion
>Editor-in-Chief of a Newspaper company
>Placing a public bounty
Is that even legal? This plot sounds fucking retarded, I really hope it's just some shitted phlebbite talking out of his ass.
Norman is the one that places the bounty, likely supported by the Daily Bugle.
I don't know, I kinda' like they actually giving substantial focus on Jameson and his relationship with Spider-Man and having it progress from fear and mistrust to begruding respect. It's probably fake, but I wouldn't mind if they went down that route.
Now let's hope based J.K. Simmons gets to play him again.
Scorpion would be a great villain. I had a movie idea awhile back that Gargan should have been a "corporate created/marketable" hero who goes off the rails and his suit controlled spider slayers.
Its no different than those paying X amount for information regarding Y. Long as JJJ wasn't outright putting a hit on him than its legal. Good example is that Mexican group paying 2k for anyone that called Trump a racist.
Eh no different than Superman and Lex/ Zod mania. Its more annoying that Hydra is the evil group behind everything and completely ignoring something like AIM which would fit this story better.

Great thread everyone!
See, this is the problem with launching Spider-Man for the third time. He can't fight previous foes cause it's tired, and his new foes have to be selected from a small group that are questionable in being able to hold up a film. I don't see this first film being anything special. Maybe after one or two they could get to some more interesting stuff.
Spider-Man could come out as established do a montage in the opening credits like Hulk.
Have the movie be about Spider-Man and Black Cat having to team up against Black Tarantula, a boy girl buddy cop film would not only do wonders for Marvel but cut off so many idiotic complaints before they start other than the costuming it would be like an instant smash hit from the hype alone.
This sounds retarded. While its closer to the comics for sure, it reads more like a synopsis of a complete movie where things are compacted rather than a complete script which is more free and open to being worked on freely.
The script would most likely read out as JJJ, Scorpion and Norman being separate, where the complete film reads as them all being one trinity of villains for time and budget reasons
>Ugh, so we're going Amazing Spider-Man again where it's all "Oscorps behind everything"?
Nigga Oscorp is usually the cause for a lot of bullshit. Why do so many retards spout this silly shit?
For so long, companies have been fighting over the rights to make Spider-Man movies because they make bank, and it's kind of a shame because the serialised soap opera style of Spidey's story better lends itself to something like a Netflix series. But the downside of that model is that the budget might be insufficient for the stunts and special effects work required.
So character complexity is sacrificed for spectacle and marketability towards children. I'd love to see Eddie Brock or Kraven the Hunter receive the same dramatic treatment that Kilgrave or Fisk got, but that's just not going to happen.
Saying that, a lighter-toned movie with Mysterio would be fantastic, especially if it was a relatively self-aware parody of the superhero movie industry trend.
I think starting with Scorpion is a good idea though. This iteration of Spidey would feel pretty grounded and integrated into the MCU if they touched on street-level mooks like Hammerhead, Montanna, Fancy Dan, Ox etc.
I don't know why some people here want the same shit Sony did. What is your suggestion?Just recycle Spider-man 1 or 2 in the MCU and call it a day? Have you seen Spectacular Spider-man's mysterio episode?
He would be amazing. A nice changed from villains who are just corporate bad guys or literally a guy with the same powers as the hero.
Just a normal dude who is great at illusions and practical effects. Add a Doctor Strange cameo, other minor villains, and the movie would be perfect.
>Mysterio gets fired from his job after stealing "Artifacts" from a site while a film crew was filming.
>The never really show off what the "Artifacts" are.
>He creates a costume, uses his skills, and the "Artifacts" to become Mysterio.
>There's a Colored Ring on each of his fingers.
Lol, is anyone still hyped for this train wreck? The rammi trilogy is as good as it gets for spidey. Especially now that iron man has over taken him in popularity.
Has a Spiderman movie made over 800mill? Or 1 bill? Nah
Civil war is a cluster fuck inbound.
The rami trilogy is
Cap trilogy will be
You seem to underestimating Marvels abilities to fuck up
No, see he's actually with Disney, sort of. He's doing the voice of that one guy in Gravity Falls so he's been on their payroll. This can happen. He even wants it to happen too. I believe this can work
>The only reason why people like Captain America 1 now as much they do is because of Winter Soldier.
Fuck you, I always liked TFA. It was the ultimate WWII era Cap fanservice
>At the time it was completely overshadowed by Thor.
I think you mean it was overshadowed by The Avengers. Thor hasn't overshadowed shit
i think that, the rami trilogy is:
Cap trilogy will be
what is a 10/10 movie ? for example:
Dersu Uzala by Akira Kurosawa , Chinatown by Roman Polanski, Dogville by Lars von Trier , Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola , Taxi Driver by Martin Scorsese, Johnny Guitar by Nicholas Ray, Porco Rosso by Hayao Miyazaki , Son smeshnogo cheloveka by Aleksandr Petrov.
These are Good Movies, no the Marvel's shit you like.
Seeing how sexy they made the Yellowjacket/Ant Man suits, I honestly would love to see their interpretation of Scorpion. Plus the guy needs more love, I can't remember the last time he popped up
>This butthurt after 8 years
Get a life anon.
Yeah, I want to be hyped. But I can't trust marvel after this. Any marvel bros feel the same?
Sounds like shit desu. First, it makes no sense that Jameson would be permitted to offer a reward for murder, publicly.
Second, no more Osborns, please. Just one Spiderman movie without an Osborn.
Osborn is Spider-Man's Lex Luthor and Joker combined. He's always going to be the big bad of the story, and a MCU Osborn is probably going to be better done than the other attempts so far.
You know we're on /co/ right?
As in we all know that that's a Fox movie and not Marvel? Do you think this you're baiting us?
>First, it makes no sense that Jameson would be permitted to offer a reward for murder, publicly.
It's literally something that happened in the comics though
dafoe was good
he is a god tier actor and made it very well in that movie
but I have to agree with you, a movie of spider without osborn(s) wouls not be a spider movie
but they could use it in another movie like the shit plot in OPs
>Good guy Jonah
>Ends with Goblin tease
>Spidey is a snarky asshole who takes pleasure in humiliating his enemies
>World building for Sinister Six ala Spectacular Spider-Man
Call it Spectacular and I'm sold.
>Be a kid
>Know who Spider-Man is, but don't know much about him
>This game was my first real exposure to the character
>mfw Scorpion boss fight
This fucking game is the best, man. What a formative experience.
>Placing a public bounty
I'm certain this is gonna be for info regarding who Spider-Man is.
He's the only MCU hero with an explicitly secret identity and the rest of this synopsis talks about Jonah and Gargan wanting to "expose" Spidey.
Give it time, anon, give it time.
>mfw we eventually get a Marvel Knights crossover film where Spidey and Daredevil team up to take down Kingpin
>Putting superhero movies on the same scale as classical/arthouse cinema
>Acting superior because you don't like superhero movies
>Holding all films to the same standard, ignoring what purpose they're meant to serve as works of film
>Listing off the most entry-level film school stuff imaginable as if that makes you a movie buff
>Still posting in a /co/ thread on 4chan about superhero movies just so everyone knows how big you think your movie cock is
How's that autism treating ya?
>First, it makes no sense that Jameson would be permitted to offer a reward for murder, publicly.
But OP's post makes it clear that Jameson just wanted to expose Spidey, not murder him.
I assumed they meant a nonlethal bounty, a "DAILY BUGLE WILL PAY MONEY FOR ANY INFO THAT LEADS TO SPIDER-MAN'S ARREST", that kinda thing.
>Bruce as Kraven
>Not as Mysterio, Shocker, Hammerhead, or Hydro-Man
Scorpion honestly seems like a good choice. Hes not well known to the general audience, his character is flexible enough where you can have fun with design/powers, and all around a safe bet as a starter villain for a reboot. Im hoping something like pic related, with some crazy wall crawling combat like SM2 did with Doctor Octopus
Yeah but he wasnt as memorable as say Electro, Shocker, or even Rhino. I vaguely recall him once or twice in the animated series and he wasnt in spectacular so its good chance to pump life back into the character. As as the above anon said, it would be neat to incorporate the spider slayers with him
You know he's gonna job hard and be a joke villain
he would be, with that outfit
maybe if changed him a little, do some minor changes in the looks maybe he could hold his own in a movie
but it's marvel studios help so crap villain is all over it
>with that outfit
you talking shit?
Rating things out of 10 is stupid because anything below a 6 is worthless anyway.
The different between a 3 or 4 is nothing while 7 or 8 is a fight, and a 10 is an impossible standard.
>First half of the movie is setting up things introducing some normal "grunts" doing some crimes getting stopped by Spidey and setting up his part of the world with JJ etc.
>Second half have some of those former "grunts" get their villain powers, like Spectacular did by having Shocker and so on just be normal guys early on, and then que climax.
Yeah I know. It's a lot better that what he used to wear though. Maybe they could go the Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game route?
Which we need more of in my opinon. I want to see Peter start taking on the mob and their hired super thughs, and villains who just want their big score and not wolrd domination
that would work
but those big gauntlet nope
it's to big and shit
but the rest of the outfit would be good in a movie
hell he could be a good character for a spider movie opening scene
like he is stoped from robbing a bank, but spider get in the news for helping him because JJJ
a man can dream
Here's a better look. I agree, the gauntlets are a bit big for my liking. Maybe a temporary end of film power boost but never permenant
Yeah, shame on her for not running around in skin tight leather while breaking and entering into high security places. Fuck pouches, she should carry all her tools in her cleavage
Electro was literally in one episode and it wasn't even Max Dillon. Scorpion was a recurring villain. Like it or not TAS is more well known to the general audience than Spectacular.
Even with Marvel behind it, I fear that there's just too much Spider-Man Fatigue at this point. It'd be the same if Marvel took back Fantastic 4. At this point there's just so much literal shit that isn't that far removed from memory that trying it now seems risky.
Yeah, but this is a """"modern"""" and """""realistic""""" take on those characters in a video game based off of a movie
How would you feel about something like this, but not shitty?
I think the suit from Spectacular would work pretty well
He's saying scripts for films are huge and a lot of movies don't tie things together in their drafts, a lot of things get cut and edited and things are changed to fit a time slot.
>people still believing Kraven is worth a damn because his suicide story was good
He's literally a normal man in cheetah print capri pants. Kraven and all his mini me's are shit.
This. Just fuck off with Hydra already. I get it, the story was fine but it seems like every movie after Captain America has some element of Hydra in it. We need villains who are actually villains for their own reasons rather than everything being "because they work for Hydra." That's why Daredevil and Jessica Jones' villains were so refreshing, they were actually like comic villains rather than being secretly Neo-Nazi Hydra lunatics who want world domination.
I was going to say it's fine if they keep that shit inside of Cap's movies, but even then I think they should fuck off and give Cap a story that isn't about Hydra for once.
This movie needs to go full on Amazing Spiderman (comic). Black Cat as a serious love interest, but only with Spiderman in costume. I want some awkward teenage drama bullshit. Like Peter taking of his mask and she's like "ugh ew fuck this I'm out" and Peter's trying to find where he went wrong.
The only thing with love interests is they can't really do Gwen again because everyone knows she's going to die. They could change her death, but even then it's not as shocking the first time. They might go straight to Mary Jane.
>Marvel Studious makes the best Marvel films.
Stop ballwashing DISNEY. Have they made SOME of the best Marvel films? Sure...Iron Man, Avengers, Incredible Hulk (imo) but also made some of the worst, you can't just sweep the bad movies under the rug because of a couple good ones
I'd rather watch any of the X flicks, or hell even Daredevil or Ghost Rider than have to see Thor or Thor 2 again
Also I know some people love it and I can see why, it's a fun kid friendly comedy, but for me personally GOTG is just a huge cringefest
>He's literally a normal man in cheetah print capri pants. Kraven and all his mini me's are shit.
>powers make the character
This is the biggest thing casuals believe about comic book characters, cool powers = cool character....they do not
True. I say just go full fucking Venom in this bitch.
Spider-man is having fun being the hero, beating minor criminals, maybe one minor actual villain. But generally, he's never faced a real challenge of a villain, because that's the Avengers' job.
Then black suit comes out of nowhere. In his arrogance and feeling of invincibility, he takes it and has a field day with it. But then his anger and willingness to do more evil shit comes, and then you get a cameo from someone, maybe Steve Rogers confronting him (if they kind of make Cap his idol/mentor, it'd work the best.) Peter takes this to heart and ponders it.
Then, he tries his best to unsuccessfully rid himself of the symbiote. Eventually, it happens.
Then Peter thinks everything's fine for a while, then, while out Spidey-ing around, he gets attacked and bashed around by a giant, hulking black monster featuring a similar look to his own suit. It doesn't work out so great, because it's his first actual villain. He loses and doesn't know what to do. But he knows it's his battle to fight because he started it. He develops some kind of technology to fight against Venom, finds out it's his school bully, Brock, etc.
I'm not writing anything special, but I just wanted to emphasize my idea that his first real villain ever is one that specifically means something to him because he essentially started it.
He wouldn't go fight Ultron or Loki or some shit, that's outside his territory, he expects the Avengers to do that. But this would be his own problem that molds him into an Avengers-tier hero who can take on actual villains. Then after that, with Spider-Man's new publicity for defeating Venom and saving the city, he gets new enemies. Possibly Kraven, who might have been trying to secretly hunt Venom as a prey, and he sees Spider-man as an even bigger prey, and slightly wants some revenge for Spidey getting in the way by stopping Venom. He works together with Osborn for intel, because now Osborn's interested

spidey would be much better off with a high budget TV series or netflix thing; spidey is one of the heroes with the most drawn-out soap opera drama stories and a spider-man adaption would be far better suited to long form storytelling over say...Iron Man or someone else who doesn't have as many great stories/characters/villains
at least not in the adapting to film sense
>He can't fight previous foes cause it's tired
I disagree...Green Goblin is integral to Spider-Man, he's not only his arch foe, easily the "most evil" of his rogues, but Norman Osborn has become one of THE big bads of Marvel in general over the years. At this point he is literally the only "big bad" they have since still no Doom or Magneto, they need him and he needs to be in any Spider-Man movie verse
It's tired? Well, in a sense...SHIT Green Goblins are tired, we have yet to see a good one, and Raimi fags can fuck right off with that Power Rangers horse shit. Not only that but if what OP said is true Goblin won't even show up till POSSIBLY a sequel
So, real question.
How is Spider-man still getting attention after so many movies and reboots? Fantastic Four have been pretty much ruined in the sense that people won't pick up any new movies about them for a while because "they've been ruined". I've heard Batman and Superman suffered from this in the 80's, but they got popular enough to become commonplace, whereas Spiderman got overshadowed by the MCU and other superheros.
What's bringing people to the theaters for one more spider-man rendition that only has "being inside the MCU" going for it?
>What's bringing people to the theaters for one more spider-man rendition that only has "being inside the MCU" going for it?
There are actually people who enjoyed the old Spider-Man movies on both sides...you have Raimi faggots and ASM fags
Not only that, but Spider-Man is the most beloved hero next to Batman and Superman so he will always sell regardless, he's been more popular than the Fantastic Four since his inception, and Fantastic Fours movies weren't "ruined" simply by existing, they were "ruined" because they were awful to almost everyone who watched them F4 fans and casuals alike, the Spider-Man movies have fans and detractors
>MCU Spider-Man movies are using 616 ideas with USM as a baseline
fuck goblins until spidey 3 when oscorp tumbles down as is destroyed by its founder and majority stake holder. use solid business man osborn.
MCU spider 1 - scorpion in 3 forms, gangster, then experimentation Scorpion mk 1, then a goblin serum enhanced mk 2 for climax
MCU spider 2- bring on full venom act 1, carnage act 2, and act 3 have anti-hero venom emergence and maximum carnage spidey/venom team up.
MCU spidey 3- tie up osborn as the obvious threat causing all these new "enhanced" cybernetic//nanomemetic prototypes and have Norman go full blown Ultimate Goblin win a huge battle battle across NY, that ends with spiderman and goblin dead with SHIELD taking Normal's corpse to experiment and spiderman's body to Dr. Cho's healing pod.
all 3 films have spiderman have atleast 1 scene or more with OG avengers, and new heroes like black Panther that teach him what it means to be bigger then a vigilante and develops peter's resolve to be an Avenger.
then include him as a primary avengers character. for phase 4-5 like RDJr who need to retired to a Shield or Megavillian position/
would LOVE for MCU Iron Man to get overpowred and become MCU Parallax for the last arc before he sacrifices himself battling Celestials. in Avengers 4-6.
Sounds like shit, hope it's not true.
Honestly I never wanna see Harry or Norman in the movies again. And it doesn't even sound too different from the previous movies. Also, the bvillain is just an armored guy with another SUPER-SOLDIER-FORMULA-GONE-WRONG? I mean I know most of Spider-Man's bad guys are like that anyways, but god. How many times are we gonna see this?
>MCU spider 2- bring on full venom act 1, carnage act 2, and act 3 have anti-hero venom emergence and maximum carnage spidey/venom team up.
Why would you need to combine the Anti Venom arc with the original Venom anti hero heel turn....the better thing to do would have Venom have his own movie as just Venom, considering he never stayed a villain long to begin with
Disgusting, fuck no bro....Ultimate Goblin is just Abomination + fire, fuck that shit, I want a real Green Goblin for fucking once
I have been waiting so long for Mysterio to get his silver screen debut. If only it could be rated R, or even more mature, he could make sick fucked up illusions of guro, trick Spiderman into beating the crap out of kids and the elderly, maybe some equally crazy sexual illusions, and just cause mass panic and chaos in the streets while he calmly robs banks amid the confusion. It would be glorious. Sadly, we will all be disappointed horrifically.
maybe he was the lead scientist working on the tech, and when it got exposed that he'd unwittingly been working for Hydra he assumed he was a wanted man, went underground, and turned to theft for food and supplies.
Do you even grim hunt? Do you even ditko?
Most of Spider-man's major rogues gallery was based around a totem, and the design decision behind Kraven was that as a Hunter he would be greater than all the animals on the totem, therefore something to challenge the Spider most.
This is why he beats him in Grim hunt.
You could also very easily make him a techno adaption like they do with nearly everything nowadays. Heat knives, advanced wakanda tech the works.
He was never just a man in the comic either, he was always hopped up on mstical juices that made him stronger, live longer, smell better, react more quicker, etc.
You're right. It would probably be best if Spidey just played hopskotch with Scorpion and have a slap fight with Osborn, with flowers and cotton candy for everyone at the end. Because Zeus forbid they ever try to use a comic book villain to their full potential. Then again, every Spider-Man villain sucks anyway, seeing as how all /co does it bitch about them all sucking so hard.
>evil father figure
>rich scientist, uses wealth to hurt people
>refuses to give up or stay dead
>unable to live a normal life, keeps going back to being the goblin
in many ways he's like a bad end peter, the kind of man he'd have become without aunt may and uncle ben keeping him straight despite all his anger issues and frustration.
>If only it could be rated R, or even more mature, he could make sick fucked up illusions of guro
>trick Spiderman into beating the crap out of kids and the elderly,

Sir, are you aware that spider-man is a comic book character?
