Hahahah most of this stuff isn't even that magic. I watched an awesome tech talk about a month ago in prep for this where the guy was doing things like hiding images in programs and then shifting a bit would reveal them, but shift another bit and you have a zip file. That was like black magic.

So it seems to me that I might have made the puzzle a bit to hard for some for the next hour, I'll be hovering to answer any questions you might have. I won't be giving out direct answers if I can avoid it, but plenty of helpful hints may be had.

I went to participate last year but I work at a cloud security company, so I deal with virus algorithms, making sure detection is in place on scanning services, etc. "Polymorphic MD5 hash sum" is the current new craze. I realised that I was basically taking my work home and after 10 1/2 hour days, my brain was too fried to give it a decent shot. Kudos to you though mate, I enjoy reading the results.

I wish - I've got to go into hospital in the next few days for a transfusion. Got a severe health thing so they're getting me in and pumping me full of drugs. If the kidneys hold out under it, I'll be home in time with xmas. If not, I'll be in for a while. Either way if shit goes bad, I go in for major surgery in my redundentness and get a bag on the hip. Not an ideal situation. It's why I'm pursuing being an author in my spare time. I would rather do that then listen to people bitch about them opening cryptolocker/dridex emails.
