Hahahah most of this stuff isn't even that magic. I watched an awesome tech talk about a month ago in prep for this where the guy was doing things like hiding images in programs and then shifting a bit would reveal them, but shift another bit and you have a zip file. That was like black magic.

So it seems to me that I might have made the puzzle a bit to hard for some for the next hour, I'll be hovering to answer any questions you might have. I won't be giving out direct answers if I can avoid it, but plenty of helpful hints may be had.

I wish - I've got to go into hospital in the next few days for a transfusion. Got a severe health thing so they're getting me in and pumping me full of drugs. If the kidneys hold out under it, I'll be home in time with xmas. If not, I'll be in for a while. Either way if shit goes bad, I go in for major surgery in my redundentness and get a bag on the hip. Not an ideal situation. It's why I'm pursuing being an author in my spare time. I would rather do that then listen to people bitch about them opening cryptolocker/dridex emails.

They're horrible things alright. But it's not an amputation or anything and people live with them. Just not a fun thought, you know?

>>78004409
I'm gonna make a deal with you. If I get something picked up and published in your country and I have to go over for a media thing, I'll drop by and we'll go out for a drink and shit and I'll pay. Totally serious. In fact I think if it happens, I'll want to do meet ups with /co/mrades wherever I go. I've been speaking to someone who wrote their first novel here in the UK. I live in the same town as her and it's been picked up, film rights paid for, done national media and tours, and now she's off doing the global tour. She's a housewife in her 40's and about to embark on this crazy tour, been invited to film premieres, the works. I met her getting smokes from a corner shop.

Good, good. He's rambunctious just like his big sister. He's picking up all sorts of things from her that took longer for her to pick up on her own. He's climbing stairs and trying to walk already, as well as trying to color alongside her at the table earlier this morning. The latter sadly turned south when he decided he'd just eat the crayons instead.

She's going to be turning three this Saturday and he'll be one in just a few weeks. It's crazy how time has flown by.

Ah yes, Digimon was also a big obsession. My group of online friends are people I met from a Digimon forum going as far back as when Frontier was airing. It doesn't have the hold it used to for me, but I did enjoy the first part of tri. It'll probably always be my big nostalgia series just becuase of how much it impacted my online life for so many years.
>>
>>78009467
Tri was fine - but since I grew up with the american dub...it didn't have that same sense of nostalgia.

>>78009351
I have a collection of figuarts, including the Power Rangers, and my my parents recognize the characters and say "you used to have all those guys when you were a kid". Which I did have the flipheads and all the like. My brother and I had a massive collection of action figures from when we were kids and as we got older we kept them in bins in the garage. I went to look at them one day in high school and found out my dad threw them all away. Twas a sad day.

>>78009366
I loved Digimon too. People always compare Digimon to Pokemon, and while the Pokemon games were excellent, I think Digimon was the superior show. I stopped watching after Adventure 02 though. I just recently watched Tamers on Netflix.

I rewatched 02 (and seasons 1 and 3) last year. Honestly, as bad as the show can be, when it's on point it really is great. The Chimeramon arc is easily one of the top bits of any Digimon series. But then you have... the rest of it, really.

It was weird rewatching them, because so much of it just didn't hold up to nostalgia, but then you get those really great pieces that make you remember why it was so enthralling.
>>
>>78009545

Shit, Dave, you gotta warn me next time before dropping a nostalgia bomb like that.
>>
>>78009433
>mfw probably crazy enough to watch it twice
>>
I think Ric Flair might be running Captcha today. Every one is "identify limousines/jet planes/beverages". If it asks about Space Mountain, I'm fucking done.

>>78009506
Sorry to hear that, anon. I've still got a TMNT duffle bag full of Ninja Turtles figures somewhere at my parents'.
>>
>>78009591
I rewatched bits of the dub with my nephew before Tri dropped and yeah there are so many parts that DON'T hold up.
But the few moments that do are great...and everything else is just a charming sort of warped.

I mean, Barenaked Ladies.

I was at work when it aired the first time, so I'll be dropping by for it this evening.

>dialed back on figure buying
Hobbies are killing me man. Spent way too much on guns this year. The worst thing is it will never be enough.

I sensed a tremor in the Force and knew precisely what this was before opening the link.
>>
>>78009678

Once my older brother moved out he immediately starting gathering a gun collection too, and his girlfriend is currently trying to curb it. It's kind of funny.
>>
>>78009678
Everyone's got their money sink, I guess. I don't ever buy alcohol or go out drinking or things like that, but I buy figures and comics. I figure it all evens out.
>>
>>78009715
For a song that plays for like 15 seconds in the actual movie....it's kinda the most associated thing with it among western fans I've noticed
>>
>>78009591
I got sucked into the Kuuga figuarts, then Tiger & Bunny, MMPR, and B-Fighter. I had a bunch of the DBZ ones, but when they were going for crazy prices on ebay I decided to sell them and just kept Goku and Gohan.

>>78009604
Yeah, it was unfortunate. I spent a while buying old toys trying to recapture my childhood, but after having them for a while I was like I don't really want this stuff, though I did keep a couple things like some of the original He-Man figures (He-Man was my first obsession) and Power Rangers toys like the zords/weapon toys.
>>
>>78009678
Do you look for special collectible ones or are you just amassing a stockpile of them?
>>
>>78009768
There are some days where I really want to buy a Thunder Megazord toy, which I guess also just got a crazy expensive Legacy release. I don't get nostalgic over too many old toys, but the Thunder Megazord was just a really great mech.

Fortunately I have never taken the plunge to actually buy it.

Anyone thinking of getting someone something before 3am EST, Amazon has a 25% discount on books including GNs with this code BOOKDEAL25

Hahah in all honesty that's probably smart of her. I used to look at dudes with houses full of them and think, man how can they live like that, but these days I look around and think. Oooo can I touch it? Can I have it? Is there a place where I can mount it? How long before I build my own mountain fortress to put these in?

>>78009781
Little of both, I have a standard old Russian Nagant from '41 and some newer stuff for fun. I'm tempted to start taking Mech E courses to learn more though.
>>
>>78009736
A friend from high school recently got me back into gunpla, so a sizable portion of my money has been going to that recently...

>>78009847
Is it that expensive? I'm pretty sure the other zords that have come out have been under $100.
>>
>>78009857

Thanks for the tip, anon, I've still got to order a couple books for presents for family yet.
>>
So what's everyone getting their friends and family this season?
>>
>>78009963

Books are my general go-to-gift, but I've tried to vary it up a little this year, mainly because they haven't finished the books I got them LAST year.

Little bro just got a new job out of college so I got him a nice set of fancy cuff links for a suit. Golf stuff for dad.
>>
>>78009963
Some novelty pillows, books, and lego assortments
>>
>>78009930
I don't remember how expensive it was when it came out, but more expensive than I expected. And now it's scalper prices of course.

>>78009963
I'm reaching the "gift card" stage with my family, so I've got a few basic gifts and then some gift cards because no one will tell me what they want and at least those are things that'll get used. Picked out a pretty decent selection of comics for most of my friends, plus the Naga plush toy for a former co-worker who is big into Avatar. I've got one last friend that I need to buy for, and I have no idea what to get him.

>I've got one last friend that I need to buy for, and I have no idea what to get him.
Well, you can never go wrong with chocolate

I decided to remove a couple of things from my list and was recommended a Darkstalkers manga. When I clicked on it, a hentai wrestling series titled Ring x Mama came up as recommendations based on Darkstalkers. So to day I learned Amazon sells translated hentai manga.

It actually seems amusing too, so I'm tempted to add the first volume to my list.
>>
>>78009963
Mommabear wants a popcorn maker. Poppabear and brotherbear have yet to say. I only have a couple of friends I exchange gifts with, one of which I bought Archie vs Predator.

What are YOU hoping to get this season?
>>
>>78010049
It's pretty amusing
>>
>>78009963
Mailing them a package of exotic fancy Japanese goods. Bottle of sake, tea, authentic cup ramen, postcard, etc.
>>
>>77997077
Yesss, I'm even on the cover!

Alssso, good evening, sssinnersss.
>>
>>78009963
Got new pot/pan set for parents, a portrait and glasses for my sister.
>>
>>78010065
Sadly, I just realized the first volume is listed at like $135-200.
>>
>>78010117
Eh, the anon forgot to mention it's like 44 volumes anyway
>>
>>78010117
You can probably read it online if you were so inclined.
>>
>>78009963
The missus and I are holding off on buying anything for family in the hopes of setting aside that money to help with air fare once they decide to visit us in Alaska.

I sent my friend in Texas a Geordi La Forge POP! figure since he's a mechanical engineer and Geordi was always his favorite on TNG.
>>
>>78009455
Apparently BookDepository has a similar wishlist system but with free shipping of books worldwide too, but I have no idea if it's any good.

Most recent review I found from someone using their wishlist system was from 2011 about how he had to enter the address manually and it wouldn't remove gifted items from the list.

No clue if any of that's changed though.
>>
>>78010131
>>78010139
I'll look into it. Having taken an interest in wrestling recently, this and Kinnikuman seem like they could be fun and sexy reads.
>>
>>78009963
/toy/ secret santa - Star Wars Lego, stormtrooper figure, x-wing model
/co/ secret santa - hellboy comic, the underwater welder
Mom - crap load of cosmetics from Occitane
Dad - cast iron skillet cookbook, bunch of records
Brother - coffee stuff (French press, hand grinder, travel mug)

Man...Ultimate Muscle was the shit.

I generally read all my manga online as they're released and translated, so I'm sure you can find it.
>Kinnikuman/Ultimate Muscle
There's another one I used to watch on Saturday mornings. Ultimate Muscle had some cool characters.

It also had the best theme song
