To be fair, Bill never said he would give Dipper the password when they made the deal. Assuming the exact wording matters, it's worth noting how he promised Dipper absolutely nothing in return for the puppet. The closest he got was:

which was more of a statement than an offer.
Compare that to his wording with Mabel, in which he did promise an action:

But all this speculation about the time bubble being the result of an unintentional deal with Mabel ignores the established rules of Bill's deals, which seem to require a handshake. Also, while I don't mind a bit of incompetence born of hubris, Bill not knowing the rules of his own powers after thousands of years of deal-making would be pretty damn questionable.

Serious question /gfg/:

What are the chances that the series final will be amazing? What are the chances it will win back everyone who was disappointed with the last episode, and make them take back everything they said?

What would you guys think if Ford died? What would be the most likely way for it to happen?

Personally I just don't think it'd feel right especially since Gideon might survive all of this and even a monster like that Spider-Woman got to live.

And even if Ford does do it out of sacrifice for his family it would still feel odd.

The writing in this show has bothered me a lot, it's just really hard to tell what direction they'll take the finale.

I've been thinking about that myself. The problem with the last two cards is they'll both be filled with a lot of dark lines necessary to complete the larger images. One will have the Grunks' chins more or less touching, and the other will be filled by Stan's eyes, fez, and glasses. I doubt both symbols will make it on there for that reason.

The wheel would also be redundant with Bill already on another card. You'd think they'd include the pine tree since the shooting star is on there, but Dipper's already represented in the Sock Opera end card. So I wouldn't say it's a shoe-in either.

Yeah, the importance of family is a pretty central theme in Gravity Falls. Dipper, Mabel, and Stan are all the main characters and in the end almost always choose to do right by their family. Their worst moments are generally ones where they're not being good to each other.

Ford is the odd one out, as he doesn't prioritize family or relationships. It's not that he can't care about his brother or niece & nephew, but he's definitely more detached and is content to just do his own thing. This isn't portrayed in a very positive light, which kind of annoys me but it's a kid's show so what can you expect.

Eh, actual numbers age doesn't matter so much, it's more about Dipper reaching a threshold of emotional maturity where he's capable of fully understanding what he's getting into by entering a romantic/sexual relationship with an uncle who's three times his age, and is capable of standing up for himself and his wants/needs in that kind of relationship. Which for most people, I'd say that would be at around 17-21. Dipper being in his 20s would definitely be ideal though, and I'd hope that Ford wouldn't act on any attraction before then out of principle.

But I'd assume for most Dipford supporters, the underage wrongness is the entire appeal of it, and Dipper and Ford starting a relationship then wouldn't be too interesting to them.

I wouldn't mind that, actually. It would resolve all the questions about his foresight and competency (or his lack thereof) , for one. If he knew his defeat was inevitable, he'd just want to have as much fun as possible before fate inevitably rained on his parade. You'd think a more or less eternal being with prognostication abilities and a billion year prophecy dictating his future would be more than a little fatalistic, anyway.

But I'd say his reaction in the scene where his minions failed to launch proved he doesn't know what the future holds for himself. He's calm enough when he thinks the situation is still salvageable, but he flips his shit at the first sign of unexpected trouble.
