ITT: Try to name worse /co/ related shows than this abomination.
I'm a pretty open-minded person and I love superheroes but even I couldn't stomach more than one episode of that. Has it gotten any better?
Melissa Benoist is incredibly cute, though.
The last two episodes were better and it's starting to find it's footing.
Honestly I've been giving it thought and I think the big problem is Jimmy.
And no I don't mean that he's black I mean that his entire character feels awkward. His scenes are not working and the last two episodes had cut back on him a bit and regulated him into his own little world with Lucy.
>All these bait/salt
Apart from pre-Winter Soldier AoS, Marvel tv has been great. Granted, AoS is not as good as DD or JJ, but it's not even near as terrible and cringe inducing as Supergirl.
Even the ratings are worse than AoS pre-WS. And they are casting a 13 year old for Superman. You can't make this shit up.
>People saying this is better than Daredevil
Biggest Kara fan but please nigga, this show is fucking awful. The only thing I had high hopes for was the special effects and they just get worse and worse.
The flying looks retarded as fuck and the make up on villains is worse than what they had for Buffy.
I don't hate the show, I just think it's unwatchable. I'm sure there's some /pol/posting involved in many Supergirl threads, but practically no one in the Arrow talkback threads objects to Diggle and Lyla. Possibly because in that show, and in Flash, the "progressive" aspects of it are just stuff that's there in the background in a way independent of all characters involved rather than taking bites out of the plot the way Supergirl keeps bringing up how hard it is to be a girl and how cool girls are anyway.
>SUPERMAN IS NON-WHITE
>IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ROMANCE, WHERE'S THE ACTION REEEEEE
>WHY IS LOIS A CHARACTER WITH OPINIONS SHE'S SUCH A SJW CUNT THE ONLY WAY TO WRITE A GOOD FEMALE CHARACTER IS TO NEVER MENTION THEIR GENDER LITERALLY EVER
Stole my answer.
Night Man was god awful.
Honorable mention: the made for tv JLA movie. Never got picked up though.
I thought I was the only guy who missed mid 90's early 00's syndicated fantasy/sci-fi superhero stuff.
The fuck happened? The stuff to make those shows is cheaper then ever and the interenet exists!!!
I have not seen Supergirl and don't intend to.
But you can not tell me its worse than season 3 of Arrow, Nightman, that 90s JLA pilot or Smallville.
This is why I don't listen to the hive of internet opinion. It's not amazing but I'm enjoying it so far.
The only thing it needs to do is make up its mind as to whether it wants to be goofy like Lois and Clark or serious like MoS, sitting in the middle gives it an odd vibe sometimes.
>And they are casting a 13 year old for Superman. You can't make this shit up.
I know right? Can you imagine? I heard they even cast children to play Bruce Wayne and Catwoman! What were they thinking?
But seriously Anon how is this an argument? You know its just going to be to play a 13 year old Clark Kent. Don't be retarded.
>SUPERMAN IS NON-WHITE
People bitch about this here all the time as it is.
everybody's doing it so the ones with higher brand recognition are the ones that will make more money
you have to give audiences something they can't get anywhere else to maximise your return on investment
NANANANANANANANANANA NIGHT MAN
this shit writes itself
>krypto the super dog not GOAT
I'll fight you faggot.
Why do you lot always have to exaggerate? It's not an abomination. It's just dull and not really worth anyone's time. An abomination is something to get angry about, not to just forget. I'd already forgotten before you decided to drag it back up.
Well, you did say /co/ related, so assuming we're not limited to superhero adaptions, how about an adaption with superheroes?
> Johnny Domino is a well-known San Franciscan jazz musician who is accidentally struck by a lightning bolt in a freak cable-car accident. The strike allows him to telepathically recognize evil but robs him of the ability to sleep. Although Night Man has no other superhuman powers of his own, he owns a special bulletproof bodysuit that gives him several abilities, including flight, holographic camouflage-style invisibility and advanced sight functions through the round red lens over his left eye including the ability to see in the dark and fire a laser beam. Although he often fights new enemies in each episode as the series progresses, his nemesis is computer technologies billionaire Kieran Keyes (Kim Coates), who would slay Johnny's father, Frank Domino, in the premiere of the second and final season.
This all seems like someone's really bad idea and you would think there would be a moment of "this sounds kind of stupid"
I'd say something like Johnny Test but that's way too obvious. as far as what supergirl is, it porbably is the worst show on tv of it's type, that being the live action comic shows.
Arrow, Flash, DD, Jessica Jones, all vastly superior to this shit. I couldn't even make it through the first episode once the skinhead lizard villain started spouting off muh soggy knee propoganda
Batfag reporting in, Gotham is shit to be sure, I mean really fuck that show but Supergirl is still worse in my opinion considering I could make it through an episode of Gotham, I legit couldn't with SG
I gag at this shit. I saw a scene with supergirl talking to her boss about not having enough time for everything and almost vomited. Only thing Superman ever whines about is not being able to save EVERY life he can. I can't imagine him ever thinking an article for the DP was actually pertinent.
> Only thing Superman ever whines about is not being able to save EVERY life he can.
No he doesn't. Modern superman wines about having to save lives in the first place. He's put upon by the act of being a superhero and hates it.
Hates it so much that he spent half of his life letting people die after being forced to watch his insane father commit suicide by tornado.
You're not getting it. Supergirl isn't suppose to be the archtypical hero like Superman is who can do anything, no matter the odds. She should and is allowed to be more human and fallible exactly because she's trying to live up to the inhuman standard that Superman represents and she can never truly achieve because Superman is the bigger character. It's only if Superman were to die that she could take his place and be super competent, save everybody hero.
yeah but the way you say it makes her sound like a real human character
she isn't that in the show though
in the show she's some fucking weird ass 2 dimensional character that have the weirdest issues about how hard it is to be a white girl with super powers
and how everyone looks down on her because she's a girl with super powers
The angle where it's all about Kara proving herself to everyone is a bit cringey at times I admit because it doesn't really try be intelligent about its feminist agenda, but I honestly find her troubles, like trying to balance her work with her superhero gig to be relatable. Just because she's got powers doesn't make her life any easier, if anything it just absurdly complicated it after she decided to follow her cousin and put on a cape.
The Marvel shows on Netflix try to be as realistic as possible, but Captain America: Winter Soldier did that without teasing the comic book elements like those two shows did, and with less dithering.
I was disappointed ep 4 had nothing worth making webms from.
They're gonna milk "I beat Reactron!" for all its worth too.
Oh it can get downright laughable..
See, the effects are really good. But the stunts are so shit. Punches don't even have impact, the fight itself has pretty lackluster choreography, the focus on their "flying," or levitating just shows how fake it looks, etc.
I'm so glad I stopped watching this. Even if it was good, I would just nitpick the shit out of it. Was the Red Tornado episode any good? His design looked awful.
>"And here we see, the Kryptonian Female, in it's unnatural habitat, competing for dominance against a rival."
>"As you can see, they begin the contest by demonstrating their staring. This is a decent warm up before the actual fight, and a good early measure for their power. Beyond that, for whichever comes out on top, it's also good practice for when they'll need to use their staring to passive agressively imply that their mate forgot to take out the garbage."
>"Let us continue to observe this mysterious ad whimsical duel. Truly nature is full of wonders."
>Was the Red Tornado episode any good? His design looked awful.
Hasn't shown up yet. Livewire was decent though.
Her face isn't THAT weathered.
I joked that Liv from iZombie seemed to have gotten lost.
Out of curiosity are you the guy that always come running when someone shits on AoS. I keep seeing >its good post-Winter Soldier and I wasn't sure if that was the general consensus. Personally I've enjoyed AoS i just treat i like it's a different canon then some of the other MCU and just enjoy it as a sci-fi show.
