This Saturday Toonami will marathon episodes 1-7 of Parasyte. As with all marathons, no new episodes will play. However, be sure to tune in for the first episode to catch this weeks segment of Intruder 2. After that enjoy some extra sleep.
Intruder 2 is happening right now. There is a new segment during the commercial break for DBZ Kai (12 am Parasyte this week) for the next 4 weeks.
December 19th will be a DBZ Kai marathon of episodes 44-50
December 26th will be a One Piece marathon of episodes 320-326. Yes, most of those are heavy dialog post Eneis Lobby episodes.
Since Intruder 2 started Toonami has been pulling excellent ratings, this week things are down but still decent. Hopefully marathons don't kill the momentum too much more.
12:00a Dragon Ball Z Kai 1550 0.68 862
12:30a Akame Ga Kill 1277 0.58 739
1:00a Parasyte 1088 0.47 591
1:30a Michiko & Noaction 935 0.41 525
2:00a Naruto: Shippuden 845 0.37 470
2:30a One Piece 763 0.34 425
3:00a Kill La Kill (r) 707 0.31
Don't get used to this decent pregame lineup, it's changing soon. DBZ rerun returns January at 8
9:00 Bob’s Burgers (r) 0.56 910 0.34
9:30 Bob’s Burgers (r) 0.67 1090 0.43
10:00 American Dad (r) 0.78 1235 0.52
10:30 American Dad (r) 0.94 1462 0.64
11:00 Family Guy (r) 1729 0.79
11:30 Family Guy (r) 1691
Reruns kinda beat the last hour
3:30a Bob’s Burgers (r) 602 0.25
4:00a Bob’s Burgers (r) 662 0.29
4:30a American Dad (r) 716 0.31
5:00a American Dad (r) 775 0.33
5:30a King of the Hill (r) 842 0.38
>all those retards shouting for expansion and a bigger budget based on last weeks ratings
>December 26th will be a One Piece marathon of episodes 320-326. Yes, most of those are heavy dialog post Eneis Lobby episodes.
God damn it DeMarco is actively trying to get the show to fail.
At least marathon the fight episodes! You have the rights to those! Or hell, maybe NOW would be the time to air that Christmas special rather than in July like you insisted on doing?
I lost all motivation and didn't make a thread on /c/,enjoy these same pics forever.
>Guts finally got off the boat
>all these other miracles happening this year
This is all too good to be true. I feel like we're gonna be punished and Third Impact or something is gonna sneak up on us and fuck everything up.
>JoJo Part 4 anime
>new FMP season
>Kizumonogatari movie trilogy
>Blame! movie announced
"Man, we have some very exciting stuff lined
up next year for #toonami. Wish I could talk
about it, but I guess I gotta wait! Argh."
They just pulled out of a legitimately decent arc, most of best duo is animated great
Shut up. Anon, shut up. Shut. Up. A. Non.
This should stay accurate for the next 3-4 months
>politely ask Demarco why they chose a marathon of the weakest show on the block and topped it off by choosing heavy dialog padding episodes
>assure him I understand the purpose of marathons in general
>see this on his Twitter an hour later
I can understand why people hate this childish faggot
>DBZ Kai is having a marathon the previous week
>M&H is ending two weeks earlier (and it's possible they'll lose the rights to it upon completion)
>AgK and Parasyte literally just had marathons
>Kill la Kill is just a slot filler
>The contract they have with Viz over Naruto Shippuden might not allow for reruns
So that just leaves One Piece.
Kill la Kill would have been better than post Eneis Lobby dialog episodes. There is ONE action episode in that bunch, and it won't air till 3am, and will have aired 2 weeks prior.
>not doing your part to watch the Parasyte marathon this week
>American Dad and KotH hours later did better than One Piece and KLK
Get some glasses. Plus those easy to beat Bobs Burgers are getting pulled for Cleaveland. And why the fuck would you want expansion into the late night? So Demarco has space for more reruns no one wants?
Hmm you are right, must be a miscount or they know something we don't.
Either way, it doesn't matter when KLK ends since we know Jason " marathons save money but I still never buy anything" Demarco will just throw another rerun there. And all signs point to AgK
Thank god, if he is being truthful here it seems we are safe from these two abominations and Demarco isn't gonna be predictable as fuck next year
Hungry games on hiatus for now. I might still do some to get us through the marathons but afterwards I wanna take a break. It's kinda dying on its own so I want to stop pushing it
So what can he mean by this? Given the strict criteria to air on Toonami that will never change, there is only so much to choose from. And going off how they want to stick with dub premiers as much as possible, there is little room from surprises.
Is Demarco actually gonna deliver on those big changes from Intruder? Or do we have a world premier in our future?
I actually had an idea, why don't we just save it for when shows end? Then the roster will be those shows characters.
And IMO, marathon nights are probably the worst times since most people don't even show up
Don't listen to >>77693839
Be proud that you actually have the sense to retire your meme when it's getting stale, rather than pushing it months after expiration.
>topic ideas running low and becoming more and more obscure
>arguments over who does and doesn't fit those obscure criteria
>argument over non Toonami characters being entered
And more issues. Recently people are taking what was a fun RNG game way to damn seriously. It's better to take a break
Yeah. I'm not sure whether or not I'm retiring it completely but for the next few months at least. Maybe start again fresh after a while. Use some of the older themes again that I haven't done in a year. But for now let's take a break.
I DO finally have enough for a winner's game though
OH MAN I SURE DO THINK IT'S GOING TO BE SOMETHING WORTH THE WAIT AND DEFINITELY NOT SOMETHING THAT NOBODY WANTED OR ASKED FOR BUT WE'LL BE ASSAULTED BY MARATHONS OF IT FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS.
>yfw the "ship" TOM encountered in the first episode is actually that engine TOM blew off of the original Absolution in the original Intruder
The original Absolution was big as fuck. Not sure why one robot man needs such a big ship
Because a bigger ship means
a better block
So I marathoned Parasyte since I didn't want to wait two weeks for a new episode and this bitch is fucking crazy.
INTRUDER 2 LEAK
It's been confirmed TOM will visit THIS planet in the next episode? What does it mean?
It still hurts.
Thanks to Hulu, we're also free from Tokyo Ghoul and Sailor Moon Crystal. We hope.
If Demarco has some functioning brain cells, they will integrate the announcement into Intruder 2.
If they take the retard route, id definitely say we hear about it that night atleast. I can't see them hanging that slot in limbo for 2 weeks. Plus it helps generate hype to push people through these marathons
>sick new show starts at 12:30 in January plus all the other stuff already on the block
Demarco has already confirmed its decided, so it's just a matter of when the reveal happens. Unfortunately we are past the point it being another world premier, that type of thing would see months of hype beforehand
We should all work together to make a list of possible shows that might show, create an image and get feedback from the larger /tg/ community about what's possible. I had a strong hunch about Aldnoah.Zero, but nope.
Typing that, I just remembered that Funi has Buddy Complex, but they will probably keep that to their own network.
Image would be enormous. It's tough to say what can hit Toonami since Demarco seems to bend the rules to his liking. Also pic related
Obviously moeshit SoL won't ever hit the block, but due to age, general lack of action, and more Toonami suited titles from Funi, I NEVER would have predicted M&H, and I certainly wouldn't have predicted how well it would do with the audience
If you actually think that then you're retarded.
>implying it wouldn't be magical
We'd all go back to pointing and laughing and people would stop trying to look for another show that's actually decent to bash
>REEEE FUCKING PARASYTE THEME EDGE REEE
Fuck off SAO apologist, you aren't fooling anyone. The Parasyte EDGE meme died the second shit got real 2 weeks ago.
>h-haha I want bad shows on the block
>no n-no I don't watch them I just like to laugh at them!
As far as the anime goes, I think the first season could be nice for Toonami.
In my opinion, Part 1 and 2 are pretty good, but Part 3 just drags on too long and could lose viewers easily.
Part 4 does a lot better with the shift in the tone/monster of the week formula the series takes on after Part 2. Can't wait to see how it is animated.
I like to think there are thousands of people in the space ship, frozen, hooked up to wires and are a part of the ship.
They're looking for a new planet to live on and in the meantime they entrust a robot and an AI with their lives. And what does he do all day?
>implying people didn't eventually stop complaining and just laughed at the absurdity
>One Piece marathon
Jesus christ, what is DeMarco thinking? OP has *never* done well on Toonami. He's basically asking everyone to not tune in that week.
I dont like this DBZK and OP marathons. I would honestly much rather have Summer Wars and Akira again.
To reduce the load, we would go as far back as 1 year, since anime is released on a seasonal basis. Of course, the only downside is that it'd be a continuous work in progress and there's already a lot to do with life and such.
>2 weeks where people legitimately won't tune in due to the proximity to a real holiday
>waste money on movies people are tired of
>throw a cheap marathon on since no one will watch anyway
The only thing worse than rerun marathons are rerun movies
The biggest issue is every marathon is "the last 5 episodes" If you're gonna do a one piece marathon at least make it the 5 most action-y parts of Enies Lobby. End the night on Luffy's Jet Gattling and shit would be tight.
I think it goes without saying that it's an understatement. His narcissistic and petty behavior really doesn't earn him any fans. Anybody who might be more than casually acquainted with Toonami would be off-put by his actions and personality. He's his own worst enemy and he'll be the only one to blame on the block's failure, yet he will never admit something like that because he's too far gone up his own ass.
I thought movies did decently, though? It was never THAT bad with ratings.
A few days ago there was an Ask.fm comment of something suggestion they do a theme marathon instead. Like "top 5 fights" "top most requested episodes" etc. and he thanked him for the suggestion (first time I've seen him not completely go off on someone).. So maybe they'll do something like that later on.
>Has Redline for an avatar picture
>Ask's for Jojo & DBZ: New & Shitty Edition instead
Nigga, come the fuck on.
AoT season 2 simuldub will be the big news. Emphasis in BIG. I'll bet my semi-flaccid penor in it.
>I LIVED THE DAY GUTS GOT OFF THE BOAT
It knows. I don't even remember what I was going to post.
Sentai finished dubbing Logh, and Viz finished Hxh.
so no movie night this holiday season?
Guy is a giant ass, but has GOAT taste in music and movies.
That being said, i'd be pissed all the time if I had to deal with all you weaboos and your turbo autism. I'd take the word over someone in the business over a bunch of faggots on the internet any day, doubly so when it's something like anime that can easily be found elsewhere. I'm not going to waste time and wave my pitchfork at someone who gives no shits when I can watch this shit elsewhere at my own leisure.
When I was younger my father spear-headed a campaign for forcing a local station to continue airing reruns of Cheers after they were abruptly pulled. It was the most embarrassing thing ever looking back. Don't let that be you
I remember my freshman year of university was when Chuck (show on NBC) was on the chopping block and there was a relatively large club dedicated to petitioning NBC to bring it back. My then-girlfriend was a big member in it, and it was cringe incarnate
Any of you faggots play Lockdown, for the old Lockdown event? It's long gone now, but some-fucking-how this guy got his hands on all the files for it.
But it's well known by now what getting involved in the business of distributing and broadcasting anime to a very select audience entails. Just because he once was a part of something that helped shape a television audience over the years doesn't give him any reason to feel superior because of it. It's a bunch of autists, sure, but he doesn't HAVE to do anything for them... he willingly does so even though it's obvious he hates them. I mean, sure, anyone who has work in a business goes through shit like he does, but I'd much rather have someone who has spent a considerable amount of time with those kinds of people and is capable of working with them and communicating with them in a calm and friendly manner without being condescending or facetious.
Also, I don't care what someone's taste outside of the Toonami block is if they're working on it. It plays nothing into the block knowing what his musical and cinematic tastes are. Just what his policies are regarding programming and his personal taste according to content viable for broadcast.
>Sentai finished dubbing Legend of Galactic Heroes
>A series of 101 hour-long OVAs
>The ink had only just dried on the contract when they announced it
I think the issue comes down to Demarco giving the image that he cares about what the viewers want, but the slightest suggestion is met with a childish asshurt response. And when he chose to not listen and things go south, he immediately blames anyone but himself. Just look at movies, instead of admitting movie reruns were retarded killing the chance of more movies, he instead blames us, YOU didn't watch them, YOU chose not to have movies anymore.
I don't know, it's never gonna get better. I'm ready for cancellation
To be fair, I didn't watch the movies either time aside from Badlands Rumble as I had already seen the movies prior. That being said, I only was able to catch Badlands Rumble because my flight back home for the holidays was delayed until the next day so I was able to just kick it in a hotel that night.
I don't really care what they do during holidays, as I'm most likely busy with friends and family. Don't have a lot of time for TV anymore anyway.
I can understand the suggestions getting tedious after seeing it so many times (or fags getting belligerent about the lack of confirmation), or having to answer the same one over and over (why don't you air subs?)
And disregarding those foolish repetitive concerns is just fine. The question about airing heavy dialog episodes of the one show on the block notorious for struggling ratings wise is a legitimate concern.
>mfw this Saturday when I turn my TV on at 12:15, watch the new Intruder 2 then turn the TV right back off
I think the biggest issue is the autism of the Toonami fanbase
>I hate thing!
>cancel thing Demarco!
>well ok I'll watch anyway to support the block
Too many people don't understand that the only thing Demarco listens to are ratings. If these marathons were pulling 400-500k, we wouldn't have the damn things so often. But the majority of autistic "can't skip a night ever Demarco knows best" group keeps the ratings up.
Want change? Stop watching
You think that's bad? I once asked him why he cut the OP to Michiko & Hatchin, since it's the exact same length, OP & ED both mind you, as Black Lagoon, and he just responded back with along the lines of, "It's not that big a deal! Besides, you should be thanking me! Michiko & Hatchin wouldn't even be airing if it wasn't for me!" Fuck this guy.
That's what I've done this whole time.
It's not out of spite though, it's just the only thing on the block I care to watch at this point. The novelty's worn off, and the excitement of Space Dandy when I look back on it is the only reason I watched into 2014.
I still look back fondly on those early days. Those threads were really fun, especially on the first movie month. Hopefully they'll pull off some crazy shit next year, cause if they don't I won't be watching. Even though I'm a Toonami fan, I'm not the demographic at this point until they get some original programming/good simuldubs. I like the packaging, but I'm not interested in the gift.
Alright guys, since it's a shit marathon on Saturday I have a treat for you guys. On Sunday I started holding my shit, and I'm gonna hold it till Saturday. I'm making sure only to eat things that result in denser shit.
How are you all involved? I will have a camera attached to the inside of my toilet and I will live stream the release of this monster after the Intruder segment airs. I may even hook up a second camera so there are two angles to watch this thing come out? Way better than a marathon right? I'll post the link on Saturday
I think I liked orgasm denial anon better.
>mfw Yu Yu Hakusho HD
so guys, I just got back from the movie with a real life grill. it probably seems that I'm just riding off the coattails of last week's anon, but I assure you that's not the case.
>be me, pick up girl at her house and start driving to movie theater
>buy popcorn, she puts the butter sauce on
>im lactose intolerant but dont tell her because i don't like revealing too much about myself to others
>start munching on cheesy popcorn during james bond
>stomache gets a rumblin, oh shit nigger
>stomache gurgling REALLY loud, I'm sure she can hear it loud and clear
>attempt to cough every time it happens so she won't hear, I end up coughing once every 10 seconds
part 2 coming
Are you sure you're just not one of those lizard shapeshifter people?
>start letting out the bubbles (gas) discretely as possible
>smells like literal shit, i cant keep this up plus she's giving me dirty looks
>let one more go quietly, but feel a little moisture in my underwear
>OH SHIT NIGGER.PNG
>mumble something about having to take a piss and speed walk to the bathroom
>hit the stall, strip off my underwear and flush that shit
>walk back commando and finish the date
she hasn't texted me back yet, Toonami General I think i fucked up. and to think i said i wouldnt sperg out
>>im lactose intolerant but dont tell her because i don't like revealing too much about myself to others
I know retrospect is 20/20, but you really should've brought that up. It's actually a good idea to tell someone you're dating some important details about yourself, such as that. It's the point of dating.
Obviously, you shouldn't start spouting off your top ten favorite super heroes, or anything particularly nerdy like that, unless she initiates it (and even then, hold back) or you're a ways into dating. But getting to know each other is the core part of going on a date.
Hell, it was a major issue I had with the last girl I dated, who was so incredibly insular (even at my most awkward, I was more talkative than her) that I could barely lift any information out of her. There was almost nothing to talk about because most of her answers were "I don't know," or shrugs. We did have some strong conversations about Star Wars, but that was about it. I tried to make it last far longer than I should've.
I know I kinda went on track there but, point is, talking about yourself is good. Just don't go overboard.
>everyone assumes Keiko and Botan are sluts like they did with Kagome
>blatant shitposting about the length of fights despite only a few ever lasting beyond 2 episodes
>Everyone being gay for Kurama
Nope. Maybe Shizuru, but not Botan.
>be the most successful kid to fall out of my mother
>of 5 siblings
>everyone is in my 3 bed 2 bath home
>2 sisters, 2 inlaws, 4 kids
>2 brothers, 1 inlaw, 3 kids
>my mother and father
>my wii u, 3ds and ps4 are ... not pristine anymore
>alcoholic eldest brother who grew up as a Chad and grew into a bum
>broke my liquor cabinet lock
>started yelling at everyone after being hammered at 9 in the morning only 3 or so hours ago
>stormed out a bit ago
>unsure if we should go after him since I live in the country and my nearest neighbors are amish
>eldest sister who grew up as a chadette got pregnant too early to some guy in the army
>never seen him again after iraq
>she married some power-beta who loves making eye contact with his dinner plate after every rant
>myself the middle child watching my home get overrun and allowing it because its the fucking holidays and cant do anything about it because no matter who you are, kicking your family out on thanksgiving eve is pretty douchey
>my other two siblings are cleaning up as they go along but their kids are still kids
>sympathetic stares from the younger two for the past 2 days
>scowls from the elder two for the past 2 days
>dad watching tv with his gin and juice calmed the room down with one sentence, "cant pick your family"
>all sitting here near the campfire
>kids have their portable stuff
>adults watching TV, some with their pads
>made long island iced teas for everyone
>lied to the kids and said the stuff I made for them was alcoholic when it was just plain iced tea
>thought about hachin
Oh yeah no, holidays are great.
>Implying you can call him out
He will likely blame you and Toonami fans/viewers for not watching enough/getting enough ratings.
What pisses me off the most though is that these gullible fucks will still try to defend him and try to support the block anyway they can. In order for anything to change whether it be positive or negative people need to stop helping his shit stay alive if he is never going to deliver on anything good.
I mean I cannot be the only one who thinks that by helping his cause for ratings is doing absolutely nothing to benefit future acquisitions on decent anime/series. The fucker is getting by with shit and will continue to get by with shit until something changes in the group focus.
So what is on your Christmas list this year Toonami general my family really doesn't want to just give me cash again. So far I've written down niere apple ice wine, an airzooka, and tile key finder.
Guy is a giant prick, but all things considered it's a miracle anime is still on TV. Nobody watches, shit gets canned. Everybody watches, you get more shit you won't like. You're fucked six ways from Sunday, so it's not like there's anything you can really do. If you're going to put stuff on TV you're going to want to go with the most broad or recognized stuff you can find.
That's the reality, and it's no wonder TV networks are constantly trying to dump on Netflix or other services in order to save face
Hey friend, I posted about my similar situation on Saturday, I had an amazing revelation yesterday
>be the successful one of the bunch like yourself
>parents are also successful and feel bad for my position
>family arrives early yesterday
>within an hour sister tries to get $5k out of me
>"wow anon you are so selfish"
>fast forward a few hours
>there's an almost fact free, pure feelings political argument going on
>here garage door opening
>fucking faggot brother is rummaging around shit in the garage trying to find the keys to my cars
>"I was just gonna go around the block come on dude"
>is drunk as well
>kick everyone out
>tell them all I'm not a bank to use because they are all failures
>parents look kind of proud I stood up to them
>tell them I'll drop by Thursday to see them and celebrate Thanksgiving
I'm cutting contact with the rest, don't care.
A new mouse, a new USB hub and Spice and Wolf on Blu-Ray.
I was ready the day I looked into the mirror. I'm ready for a good end.
they've both been at Williams Street since the start, and Lazzo is the head honcho. Seems like a bunch of other WS workers still love Space Ghost, like Demarco. The guy who makes Off the Air also likes sneaking in a Space Ghost in every episode.
Lazzo seems to not be ashamed so much about Space Ghost anymore. I mean, he's the one who approved the 4 and a half hour long Space Ghost marathon last year. Plus he gave his words about his favorite episode in the marathon.
Off the Air is fucking great, I still want an episode of it just entirely comprised of Adult Swim's older bumps. Title that shit "Bumps"
I would legitimately buy a blu-ray set of that show.
I would say too much power. Yes, the old exec control caused lots of questionable decisions, but it did take power away from Demarco. With new Toonami, he has about 90% of the power and he just goes nuts with it. Also he is well aware that Toonami is the only place on TV that anime can thrive so he can abuse the viewers knowing they have literally no other cable options. Sure we can stream, but there's that charm of seeing it on cable
>Sure we can stream, but there's that charm of seeing it on cable
Oh yeah, I forgot how good it is to relive the glory days of having to watch things that came out years ago at a snail's pace, complete with commercials and at an inconvenient time to boot!
That bad about this is there are legitimate concerns he ignores because certain people constantly ask for subs or stupid shows. At this time last year he was killing the block and wouldn't listen to anyone
>implying santa isn't a weeaboo
implying santa won't give me a sega saturn
yeah. have you seen this week's episode yet? good shit
also I think he said he'd love to have a bluray set but all the rights to songs and YT videos and shit would make it extremely hard to release
just like the good old days
>tfw I legitimately do kind of miss this
>having to get my ass home from school so I didn't miss my favorite shows because if I did I was fucked
I think it's more just a childhood memory, as an adult being able to stream whatever anytime is a godsend
Why does a god-awful piece of garbage like Akame ga Kill have such a great soundtrack? It makes me angry.
It's like how SAO has such amazing visuals. I'd argue it's one of the prettiest anime I've ever seen.
And that's infuriating.
>mfw at 1:37 in that first track
what the fuck, how come I never notice how great this shit is while I'm watching? is it the awful dub voices distracting me?
If you take certain things into account, Toonami exists in the universes of countless Hanna Barbara cartoons, nearly every Cartoon Network and Adult Swim original series, and even Family Guy.
It's pretty crazy, but Herculoids cameos (which is a spin-off of Space Ghost) in 90's Cartoon Cartoons (and Family Guy) and Hanna Barbara being lazy enough to reuse character models for multiple shows are to blame.
Also Harvey Birdman.
It's always the worst anime that has the best shit in it.
Whats the possibility for Digimon Tri next year?
I hope Funimation gets it, not even sure what Saban is up too now, plus the direction of the new series is right up their alley
Tai and Kari's voice actors are down to come back too
At the moment, nil. Crunchyroll picked it up and they're currently streaming the first movie subbed. Wouldn't doubt FUNimation probably still has its eye on it, but if they get it they'll probably go for a theatrical run.
>implying I'm clicking on that to listen to MUH SOGGYKNEE bullshit
>it will take until May, six months from now, to get through a single filler arc due to the episodes being spread across saturdays with marathons included
fuck the naruto anime's pacing goddammit
Slightly off topic, but I would pay premium cash for an uncut Yugioh dub using all of the original VAs. Considering a good chunk of them were literally who's it'd probably be impossible even with an unlimited budget
If we are compromising here are my must haves
There might be a handful of others, chime in if I forgot any must haves. The rest were forgettable enough to just have similar voices
I'm in the exact same boat man. The only thing that is keeping me onto Toonami is Michiko and Hatching.
>I've already seen nearly all of Parasyte excluding the last 4 episodes.
>I know for a fact that Akame is garbage
>I dont give a rats ass about the long runners (Naruto & One Piece)
>Dragonball Z pays the bills, so we just cope with it.
>Kill La Kill. Don't get me wrong it was a good show but once you've seen it once, it loses all its flavor.
Space Dandy, AKIRA, Eva 2.22, and Intruder II are the only highlights from Toonami. Now that DeMarco realizes that all he has to show is the "Anime Flavor of the Month" to get O.K. ratings we'll all be fucked.
Its actually a possibility
Tai and Kari's voice actors both said they would come back if asked, and most of the others like Izzy are still doing voice work today
I think only Matt and Joe are the only ones who dont, but Tai retried and he's down
You know, the fact that one piece is an adventure based Anime makes it so that it probably could get a way with having some intermediate adventures between arcs, probably even ones based on the splash pages. But for some reason one piece filler is usually kinda shitty.
say that to my face, Satan.
Holy shit, other people that like Off the Air.
I'm not even a pothead and I love it. There's just something so oddly serene about the show, like those still photo [adult swim] bumps like pic related.
And yeah, I agree, I'd kill for an Off the Air episode comprised of the old bumps.
Go over the reasons why you love her so much in the first place and reevaluate each reason. And if that doesn't work then just beat it off to a really good doujin featuring her.
Think long and hard about her smile and why it is that you want to protect it.
>28 years old
>stuck living with my parents
>live in an 8x10 bedroom
>barely move outside of a 25 ft radius from my room
>only friend I have is my younger bro
>he lives 500+ miles away from me
>only reason we have Thanksgiving is because my mom loves turkey
>only me and my parents
>still haven't had a transplant to save my life
>guess I should be thankful to have my family and whatnot
>just kinda depressed and hoping something would happen already to speed things up
good grief the shit i'll put up with.
>will never relive my childhood
>will never get home from school and turn on TV to watch my favorite program
>will never have the luxury of watching it in reruns for years to come
>will never have that security that even if I had a bad day, my favorite show would come on and I could at least escape for half an hour
>will never again spend the time when the show wasn't on constantly drawing out comics and scenarios using characters from the show and creating fantasy crossovers with other characters from other shows
>will never have that feeling of excitement when you can discuss the latest episode with your friends at school and share toys and comics with one another in your shared interest
>will never again be popular for being "that kid who can draw main character really well" and get bugged to draw a lot of the main character for others to enjoy
I really miss my childhood. Why couldn't I have died after 12 years old? That's when shit started going south.
I didn't realize rabid dogs could use image boards.
There's even canon stuff Toei could adapt that would be useful for the series to be stretched a bit, but they haven't since the first 100 episodes or so.
Saban's still dubbing stuff (or is again, anyways) with at least Digimon Fusion (Xros Wars) happening somewhat recently. I think they're also releasing a Precure dub on Netflix and calling it Glitter Force or something.
No idea if they'd be interested in tri though.
Every time without fail this pic always gets me rock hard.
>Akame ga Kill teaches that if you're weak you should die
>Antagonist's mom died savagely and her father's explanation was because she was weak
>Surprised his daughter turns into a horrible psychopath
>Only one or two of the protags are even likeable or have a general purpose other than "tits and/or tsundere"
>One Punch Man teaches you that anyone can be a hero if you're willing to put yourself in harm's way to help others
>Saitama is depressed because of a legitimate reason - his dedication to being the strongest has made it so nothing is a match for him anymore
>Other heroes try their hardest even when they go against tremendous opponents
God damn I can't wait for OPM to get dubbed. I'm hoping it's a good team that covers it too.
>Dragonball is back
>Digimon is back
Haven't seen it yet
>Star Wars is back
SJW propaganda and marketing bait for the "such a nerd xd" crowd
>Jurassic Park is back
>Pokemon is back
It never went anywhere and is hipsterbait now
>mfw Ryukoposter gets buried by combined Fubuki/Tatsumaki spammers
Not sure what he is implying with the SJW part, but I agree with the second part. Go to any semi relevant store right now, there is Star Wars shit everywhere. Most of it is geared to the same type of people who made fun of Star Wars fans back the last time it was relevent. I would put it on par with BAZOOPER HAHAHAHA Big Bang Theory stuff.
And I really have little interest in SW, but even I can see this shit and it gets my salt going a bit.
>all these fags wearing/using/buying Star Wars shit
>it's all forgotten 6 weeks later
Fucking trends are retarded
Here it is faglords. Tired of garbage on Toonami? Quit fucking watching it.
>Instead of just asking for what fans want we're just gonna shove more shit in your face
>Dragonball is back
Never really had nostalgia for Dragon Ball. I didn't get Cartoon Network as a child and only got it when I moved to the South. Still, I didn't pick up on it until the Buu Saga.
>Digimon is back
Was too old when Digimon began to air to care about it
>Star Wars is back
I've always been bored to tears by SW, old trilogy and new. Nothing can get me interested in it.
>Jurassic Park is back
Only good JP film was the first and I don't have too great of nostalgia for it since I was 6 when it came out and too young to understand the plot and mostly just scared shitless by the T-rex trying to eat the two kids. Didn't really see the full film until Lost World came out, since I was mature enough to not be scared of animatronic puppets and CG anymore.
>Pokemon anime is good again
I only have some nostalgia for the first season of Pokémon from back when it aired.
The only /co/-related shows I have nostalgia for are the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Batman: The Animated Series, Showa era Godzilla/monster movies, the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla cartoon, and Sonic SatAM and AoStH.
>Quit watching shows on Toonami
>Toonami gets canned
>Watch shows we hate
>DeMarco: "BOY THEY SURE DO LOVE AKAME AND SAO! BETTER RERUN THEM FOR EXTRA BIG BUCKS!"
>Deal with shit shows until Toonami's inevitable cancellation.
Its choosing the lesser of two evils to be honest.
I hope DeMarco realizes that and decides not to be a complete dictator. Realistically we get a new show every 2 or 3 months because of all the timeslots that Toonami has. Then we must put up with that show for a minimum of 6 months, if the show is a 24 episode cour.
DeMarco is just getting jaded that a bunch of retarded fucks keep asking for retarded shows to air 24/7. When you hear questions like
>"Can we get Steven Universe on the block?"
>"Is it possible to air Boku no Pico?"
>"Can we get Garzey's Wing?"
I feel bad for the man. He gets the worst questions of all time.
'quit watching it' doesn't work, just because rational adults aren't watching it doesn't mean kids with nothing better to do and who haven't developed the capacity to discern quality won't be. Would you rather toonami be cancelled again? I wouldn't. A much more effective method would be to keep asking questions like this, and leave actual feedback on what toonami's airing. Enough voices can't be ignored. Doing nothing helps nothing.
Dude, other PR seasons are pretty aces. Try RPM on netflix, you don't need any prior nostalgia/attachment to prior seasons and it takes itself a bit more seriously with a post apocalyptic setting.
Red ranger's on Jessica Jones, Yellow's on iZOMBIE, Female villain's on Reign. Pretty good cast.
Someone actually did during Momocon 2014, it was literally the last question. Dana had said "Ooohhh.. the last question you better make it count!"
Mind you I was on my way to Florida because I had went to Momocon but I missed the panel. So instead I decided to watch it on my phone, with my buddy.
The sperg girl had mutterred could we get "Steven Universe on the block?"
I have never cringed that fucking hard in my life.
Someone probably has the entire panel archived to so you watch it. Its fucking hilarious.
>Next week's another fucking marathon
Don't get me wrong, I love Parasyte so far, but FUCK marathons
>Marathoning One Piece filler/post-arc cool-down
Sounds like the most dreadful shit ever.
i just thought these were tumblrtards and superfans requesting this online but someone physically said this to demarco
god damn, i can't hate the guy as much now, imagine taking all those ask.fm questions and hearing that right in front of you, i'd be a bitter piece of shit afterwards too
like dude, check my name, i like the show, but people are tripping if SU would have any chance on the block
Don't get me started on Motorcity though. That would've been perfect and then Disney XD puts reruns of it AND Tron Uprising. During Toonami's time slot, at least last time I checked.
>Many anons died before seeing this day
not the guy you are replying to, but I think another war is incoming. Definetly wont be WWIII unless USA decides to pissoff Russia for some dumb reason.
Realistically it will just the Allied Forces v. Islamic Extremists for a very long time.
Why would Disney of all people ever give their shows to a competing network?
If anything, the only recent CN action show worth a damn (Sym-Bionic Titan) has already been on Toonami so I'm good as far as western reruns go. I mean, Green Lantern The Animated Series would be neat but Beware the Blunder pretty much killed any chances it might have had.
The rights were up in the air before it came back on XD, Titmouse was supposed to try to get the rights back to it and Megas if I'm not mistaken. Plus at the time, I'm pretty sure Motorcity had never been in reruns.
>tfw i feel like i was in the minority for liking BtB
Sadly I haven't seen GL:TAS yet but I've heard good things about it.
Yeah when you put shit into perspective ALL DeMarco gets hit with regarding questions are all show requests. It isn't like people ask him cool shit, like airing fan made content, or hosting art contests. All people are doing is asking him if he can air an absurd show that the asker likes.
Alot of the people asking are completely casual or don't know the "politics" behind Toonami.
Also people don't understand that there is an "checklist" if a show is even compatible with to Toonami.
>Is it shonen/seinen?
>If not, does it contain alot of action?
>What is the plot of the show?
>Does it have a sequel?
>Is it marketable to American audiences?
>Is it aimed for the Male 18-34 demographic?
>Is it a long-runner or short-runner? (cour-length)
>Who is the owner of the IP?
>Does Toonami have an existing relationship with said "owner"?
>Where can we fit said show into the block for it to succeed compared to the other shows on the block?
>Then it might be o.k. to air.
Hell I don't give a rats ass about the politics that go behind Toonami but if someone doesn't know the "unspoken" checklist they are either a retard or a complete casual.
>Pokemon anime is good again
Only the original Japanese dub. The American dub is beyond garbage.
But yeah, so far I'd say the X/Y anime's the best season the show has ever had. I just hope they can keep that level of quality into X, Y & Z and don't drop the ball too hard on the sketchy "AshGreninja" bullshit.
BtB was meh, but I was mostly commenting on its rating performance rather than the actual quality of the show. GL:TAS was pretty good, and I say that as someone who usually doesn't give a shit about GL stuff AND loath CGI.
Thats what I am saying, I wouldn't mind having just one or two movies a year. They don't have to break the bank. But as long as the movie hasn't been shown ever on television to American audiences and has a good name I'll watch it.
Hell I remember when we had the first "Month of Movies", I thought it was overkill. We don't need one complete to movies. Just a few spread out gets the job done, gets viewers excited, and gets eyes on the screens.
yep, 4 movies is an overkill, but 2 movies would do good, remember when they aired some DBZ movie, it did really good, because it was just one movie during the middle of the year.
I wish they could air AKIRA every year and make it a tradition.
>does it have certain key names in the credits allowing it to bypass all other criteria
This is absolutely true as well, having Shinichiro Watanabe anywhere in the credits gets an automatic bypass.
I also forgot the simplest one of all..
>Does it have a dub
>found the con vid
>it was actually Momocon 2015
>spergy chick was black
God damn it.
I actually always wanted to make a fake Toonami promo, but it's for a show that I know would probably never get on the block, despite it being decent action.
Art contests would be cool to see, especially since with them being on Tumblr means there's alot of it.
I just hope people give a shit about toonami. Nobody I know cares outside of me, since everyone has crunchyroll or pirates their shit and is up to date with everything.
>AOT comes on toonami for the first time, people start talking about toonami/CN for first time in ages
>stops after it comes back
>i'm the only one that talks about akira and summer wars
>space dandy makes a small boom, but EVERYONE was talking about AoT so it went under
>one guy knew about Big O
>i'm the only one that remembered IGPX
Who is Toonami catering to anyways? Are we all just pity watching at this point? It's not alot of nostalgia outside of DBZ and Intruder 2. Anime fans have watched anything else they show, subbed or dubbed.
>are we all just watching out of pity at this point?
This and the misguided notion that it will get better someday. Demarco seems to forget that we do him a service by watching shit instead of streaming
Oh that I can completely understand, though I still like it. Maybe that's because I saw it the first time in a theater during the summer (comic con time? it was some FUNi promo, there was anime shit everywhere), but I respect your opinion.
>I actually always wanted to make a fake Toonami promo, but it's for a show that I know would probably never get on the block, despite it being decent action.
There was a fan-made Jojo promo a while back.
Noragami's a short-cour, two seasons action show that checks most if not all of these things out which could fit in AGK, M&H or Parasyte's time slot whenever they end... It's owned by Funimation though, don't know how Toonami's relationship with them is beyond the long-running shonen blocks.
I feel bad for those that dropped it in season 1, season 2 is so fucking good so far And season 1 wasn't even that bad beyond Yukine's shitty characterization
I still would never directly ask DeMarco to air it, I'm not one to beg for shows directly to the source, it'd just be a nice surprise if it ever was picked up.
And I much prefer talking about what-ifs here with you guys than pestering people who are just trying to do their job and run a rocky television block about Chinese cartoons.
The only important thing is that they get the original Adventure cast back together. Last I heard, Seth said he'd be done doing some anime stuff if the role interested him. And what would be more interesting than reprising one of your most iconic roles?
Nah, Jojo could have potentially had a chance if prices weren't so expensive.
Though that reminded me another reason why I pity Demarco or anyone that runs that Toonami tumblr:
"IS X GOING TO BE ON THE BLOCK" - APRIL FOOLS EDITION
>before that with DBZ kai coming on toonami, toonami faithful got lucky
Dude I fell in love with IGPX ever since I was a kid, I honestly that it was the anime ever created. When it got announced that it was going to reair on the revived Toonami I was fucking estatic.
Only to find a bunch of people hated the show because "It's slow".
I honestly do feel like I am pity watching at this point. I used to stay glued to the TV during the late 2012 - early 2014 days. Space Dandy, EVA 2.22, Summer Wars, AKIRA, was fucking beautful. Not to mention the threads were more epic and weren't complete cancer.
It feels weird getting nostalgic over a time period that was just two years ago. All I know for a fact is that the "cool-shit" happening next year is probably going to be.
>Attack on Titan: Season 2 simuldub
>"Anime Flavor of the Month" aka: Undisagreeably "good" anime. Tokyo Ghoul, Blood-C, Psycho-Pass, Terror in Resonance (i'd like this honestly)
>MAYBE Dragonball Super (alloting DeMarco isn't retarded)
>MAYBE One or two cool movies like Redline or Paprika
AND THAT'S IT FOLKS.
Lol to think that I am going to keep spending my Saturday midnights watching a revived Japanese animation block that is just showing safe shows that are well received because they're a little on the "edgy side". Bitch please.
People still asks the questions. IIRC someone said that watching Jojo was way better than anything on the block atm.
Dude I regret not watching Toonami on april fools when it came back, but when it first came back, I was hyped as shit for everything.
>Deadman Wonderland? Fo sho'.
>Casshern Sins? Let's go.
>Naruto's coming back? I haven't seen that in ages, holy shit
>EVA 1.1 (i regret my "eva phase" but toonami helped me get into the show itself, and it was a great show)
>Seeing Akira for the 1st/2nd time on Toonami
>Summer Wars was the closest we got to Digimon, loved the movie, first timed
Sometime after Hellsing first came on, I just lost the spark.
I don't know, a part of me keeps myself intentionally uninformed with anime so I can still have the magic of Toonami showing me something I've never seen before. That and I'm only just now getting the hand on watching shit online. It's just not the same, and I don't know why.
>tfw a aot s2 simuldub would give toonami cash but give "a bunch" of idiot tumblr viewers that give no fucks about anything else on the block
You can't deny it wont rake in good numbers.
All Toonami has to do is just pester Lazzo into giving them advertising money and just campaign it around town as "The newest Dragonball series since 10 years! Being shown to American eyes for the first time with an homemade-dub. On its original home! Only on Toonami!"
00's babbies, Old men and women, and College aged kids who grew up with the series would all simultaneously turn on the channel within a heartbeat.
I suspect that Toonami would pay off the dues for Dragonball Super very quickly as long as they had Family Guy running before it giving it that ratings boost it always does. Yes, the show is complete shit. Yes, the animation is atrocious. Yes, nothing happens. Yes, the villian is comedic relief. But at the end of the day having Dragonball in front of the name pulls in eyes. You can't deny that.
Lol look at how good DBKai is doing right now. That old crotchety show remastered is pulling in better ratings than brand spanking new episodes of Bleach.
The first season is wishy-washy because of Bones going full anime-original with the ending, but still got great moments of both action and comedy.
The second season (so far) has stuck 1:1 to the manga and thus has way better writing and characterization (along with better pacing and a better budget, leading to better animation).
As far as plot goes: a minor God that is nearly forgotten by humanity (and thus on the verge of disappearing from existence) does various menial labors in exchange for 5 yen offerings in the hopes of one day buying himself a shrine and no longer being a bum (Noragami literally translates to homeless god). Then a girl nearly dies saving him from a car crash and get her soul separated from her body and hijinks ensue. Think the best parts of Bleach with none of the bad.
It also got some pretty catchy openings
I honestly still get nostalgic for the old Casshern Sins days. Seeing the /tg/ threads full of people moaning and groaning about having only two premiers, and the latter being a depressing show about an annoying overly-sentient cyborg was fucking hilarious. Not to mention the finale was fucking hilarious as well.
Eva 1.11 was my first time watching Evangelion and watching Ramiel fuck that mountain up was fucking hilarious too. Eva 2.22 was next level hype in the /tg/ thread. It sounds wierd but I've never had that much fun on 4chan until then. It was a pleasure to watch with the other postsers.
But now all we have are Ryuko shitposters and Esdeath shitposters.
Honestly when I saw that /toonamigeneral/ might get put into the >>>/trash/ I wasn't even suprised. The threads have devolved into blatant shitposting about shitty mainstream shows. Michiko and Hatchin quite literally is the ONLY reason I even watch the block right now. Once that stops airing, and they air some other show which might be shit I won't give a flying fuck about this block.
>I don't know, a part of me keeps myself intentionally uninformed with anime so I can still have the magic of Toonami showing me something I've never seen before.
I also intentionally don't watch shows because they have the chance to air on Toonami. I've stopped watching Gangsta, and I was going to watch M&H and I stopped.
It's been 3 years and they STILL haven't gotten a decent budget, it won't ever happen.
With Super, Demarco admitted, which he rarely does, that other networks could likely outbid them. Even with a one time boost they still may not pull it off
>Almost nothing BUT shitposting
Damn, that's what /tg/ is now? I don't know if its a bad thing or not that I barely go in it.
Is it bad that I never got into Kill la Kill?
I was always like, oh, that's a thing. People said some Gurren Laggan folk worked on it. Toonami's airing of GL was my first time seeing it, and I loved it. I couldn't get into it. I thought, maybe it's a dub thing? Subs weren't doing it for me either. Shame, I feel like I'm missing out on something.
I was so surprised that M+H is getting such a following, and that I'm in it. I'm really liking it so far and hope it continues to have decent ratings.
>/sug/ and /tg/ in >>>/trash/ is the closest SU will ever get on toonami
Lesser of two evils, but I still don't want it to go. I can't think of anywhere else it would go.
No, beyond the OST, KlK is pretty fucking bad, the plot is dumb (and not "fun dumb" but "dumb dumb"), the animation is shit. Some of the characters are OK and that's pretty much it.
It's the definition of overhyped garbage. People just pretend to like it because of the studio's name and the fanservice.
It's not just a KLK issue, it's an every show issue. Were you in the threads during the first SAO? Most posting during the block is forced memes and drama trying to replicate those threads. It's terrible.
You got your wish with M&H, it pulled above average ratings it's whole run, only 2 weeks left though which will likely do just as fine
This is the first negative opinion of KLK I've seen. That or the most genuine one. Everyone else LOVES the fuck out of it.
>KLK rerun out of nowhere
>Toonami tumblr post: "better the second time, and the third, and the..."
We ain't ever gonna make it.
Yeah this show is something you watch once then forget about. Hell you might even rewatch it for shits and giggles.
The only positive thing to come from KLK is the cosplay and blatant fanservice.
I always praise god whenever I'm at MomoCon, AWA, or DragonCon and I see a Ryuko or Mako with a fatass. I'm positive the animators had tons of fun.
Definitely. I've been following Jose Argumedo (@Jose_CNN) on Twitter and he's put a lot of love and time into this.
It's not just taking the originals and making them available again.. he's gone in and re-done all the audio and video with higher quality sources. It also has EVERYTHING, even stuff that I don't think was ever released to the public, and so it's the definitive collection.
I don't know if I missed out on anything noteworthy by not lurking in /tg/ occasionally. Aside from the braindead dude, the one that ate salad with his hands, and the guy who said he was going to cut his dick off.
I'm glad to see the show succeed. I think the dub director fav'd some of my tweets about it, pretty cool.
>not getting the joke
You can literally just post the damn url and it'll automatically format it to crosspost.
I've met the guy, he's a really chill dude.
Lol, some of the reviews on KLK were very gracious because it is the "sister" of Gurren Lagann. In retrospect the show was definitely fun to watch once or twice. Anything more is gratuitous. If this show wasn't "related" to Gurren Lagann I'm not sure what the final verdict would have been.
Yeah aren't missing out on that watch. Just get drunk with buddies and watch it. You'll appreciate how far they pushed the boundary with fan-service. And you'll love the cosplay that came out of the show aswell.
>everyone spamming EDGE every AGK and Parasyte episode
>If this show wasn't "related" to Gurren Lagann I'm not sure what the final verdict would have been.
I agree wholeheatedly on that. When GL got on Toonami, I saw countless comments saying "oooh this would be a perfect transition into
Parasyte's pretty good, I'm glad i didn't judge it.
>my "eva phase"
What does that even mean.
Let's just say I was on a really bad site that hailed Eva as THE anime because it appealed to their sense of self-loathing.
I still love the show but I was a fucking nut because of those people
>Let's just say I was on a really bad site that hailed Eva as THE anime because it appealed to their sense of self-loathing.
I can't believe we're getting fucking Part 4 animated soon! It's my favorite! I hope the Duwang subs are on-point.
get hype for Rohan gambling match getting animated and BITE ZA DUSTO
Expect something a lot more light-hearted than Drive
so it can better punch you in the guts in the finale.
>live in Georgia
>never heard of MomoCon
>saw a commercial for MomoCon 2014 when it was happening
>just laughed when I saw it
>it's pretty much that or Dragon Con
>no matter my options, I still lose
>This fucking commercial
Years later and still no escape
I'll call now.
You GA too? I'm a GA native but I live in NY atm. My mom knows a Turner worker but I doubt that's going to get me anywhere unless I get some internship.
