I have no problem with it. Then again, I wrote a page where the main character speaks directly to the reader and introduces her whole family in caption boxes.

How come I cannot stop laughing? What is the name of this series?
>>

I really feel like that should say "-our- daughter, Jackie." seeing as how her husband was introduced just before her, that is unless Mark isn't the father.
>>
>>77464185

yeah not just that movie but all western movies are a huge inspiration for this comic, and not just movies but games and anime like trigun to maybe, i really want this to feel like a western by the time the first chapter is done

all while being as 100% unique and original as possible ya know?

original characters and world, but familiar death scenes and elements seen in old western movies and stuff, ya know?
>>
>>77465402
Mark is the father. Perhaps the wording was a misstep on my part, but since the comic is told from Jan's POV I don't think it's that great a sin.

Not that big a deal, but if he's the love of her life you'd think it would be more natural for her to think of parenthood as a partnership. It would be one thing if Mark hadn't been introduced yet and it was just her and Jackie, "my daugher" in that context would be perfectly appropriate, but he's right there and introduced in the panel just prior. Just feels like a slip on the writer's part, and I think just about any married reader would pick up on it.

>>
>>77471230
>how to write for a comic?

Just write the comic.

Outline it
Plot it.
>>
>>77471230

I've heard a few things, either going about it as you draw the panels, while just planning out the major events on a timeline. Or you could have it set up like a show, where you plan out the entire script, and then create your panels based around the scripts that you've written.

Let me try this one more time...

Google wouldn't let me find HYW 210, so I missed being able to upload some pages to you guys.

Anyway, I'm now doing a new schedule for Moonlit Brew! I now update twice on Mondays on Patreon, and to the public on Fridays! Atari and I also took your feedback on adding in the title of the webcomic on the pages themselves.

Let us know what you think!
>>
And the other page I uploaded at the same time! I don't know how to upload multiple images here (if you even can upload more than one image). I'm still new to this, after all.

Dont let these fools steer you wrong. Read comics first. Get to know how things go, How theyre formatted. I assume you havnt been living under a rock, so you probably are familiar with normal plot lines, and cliches to avoid. Id read a lot of stories if you could, and read the pixar infograph from OP. Also there are more writing guides for things that may not be intuitive online.

Its just story telling. You mention a lot of the boring details with the images, but the story is all the same.

i just got finished doing an epic redesign of my FATES card which is both for my playable card game prototype in real life and for characters to hold and use in the actual comicbook/webcomic/graphic novel//epic western saga

in the comic they refer to them s SCROLL CARDS

but in real life they will be called FATES cards! I hope its as big as magic and hearthstone one day, or even pokemon or yugioh tcg

maybe a studio will make an animated version of it for me, and digital games to! dream big guys!

oh and all this stuff is super copyrighted and trademarked by me so dont get to inspired by me, ok thanks, peace!

It's okay if you're describing them to someone in a photo, which is basically what she's doing. yes, she's physically present with him in the page, but as an omniscient narrator it's just her and the reader together, he's not there, so it's okay not to say 'our'
>>
>>77467252
i just hope you remember to resolve all the cliffhangers.
also you don't usually call schematics 'true' per se, that's more something you'd say of a prophecy. a schematic is' accurate'
I like that most recent blurb, man. it kinda turns the whole second-person-voice CYOA thing in a weird direction. a good one.

>>
>>77471230
oh it's you! i didn't recognize you when you drew the little trollgnome guy
i basically try to write like a sitcom script. this guy says this, this guy says that.. if he needs to DO something that isn't obvious by the dialogue, then write in that he should do that. if your comic isn't so wordy, think of it the same way. how are their actions having a 'conversation'?

>>77473205
>>77472324
from what i've read and personal opinions, the format for which you should write a comic is
>Brainstorming
You need to have an idea behind a comic, be it a gimmick or a story. compile many different potential ideas and build from what interests you the most
>Outline
Set up ideas and plot points that are going to be important, a skeleton of the story you want to tell
>Expanding
fleshing out ideas, characters, motivations, and actions that lead the characters through the skeleton
>???Writing???
I feel there should be some more solidification of writing here but it also feels somewhat redundant. If you even need this part i dont know
>Story boarding
this is where you begin to visualize, finding out how the actions work, tone, and dialogue.
>Finished Product
as is obvious

Would you agree with this model?

In order to write a comic well, assuming you're part of the 99.999% of the planet who isn't naturally super-talented, you need two things: practice and study. Practice is simple: write a lot, for a long time. Study involves using your brain a bit more, basically you need to read comics and figure out how they work. It's not enough to just see what comics do that's good, it's also important to see what comics do that's bad and why it's bad, and also what comics do that's merely passable and why it's merely passable. It sounds weird and it is weird, but once you do it for a couple of issues it'll come naturally.

Writing is more important than art. The best example of this can be found in a print comic: Spider-Man 2099, the current volume by Peter David with "art" by Will Sliney. Sliney's art is usually not good and sometimes gets spectacularly bad due to it being Poser tracing and not REAL drawing, but David's writing carries the book and I read every new issue with excitement.

Someone stole my sketchbook. I don't know if they thought it was something valuable or something. I was drawing, got up to get a coffee (I took my actual valuables like my phone and wallet with me, so I'm not 100% stupid) but left my sketchbook because who the fuck would steal a sketchbook? This gives me hope, because my art is bad but my writing is 9000x better. Unlike drawing I've actually taken classes in writing and had some of my stuff published in university magazines. Maybe I actually can get this idea I've been working on to work.

Barely did anything this week, webcomic related.
This is a practice I threw today for the illustration of a Fable I have to do for my seminar.
I still have to run a few more practices until I find a face suitable for the younger brother of the tale I picked, but I'm still not satisfied.

As always, I welcome any comment on this.

Deleted the post because I forgot the pic like the faggot I am

I probably use the scheemer face for the older brother, who will have a tall, slender build, so I'll need to made a few adjustments. As for the little brother, once I get home, I'll try to run a few more faces, I may do the cover and have different faces to test on it and see which one looks better once the cover is done.

I think you at this point you think that everyone is so interested in you comic you are already starting to diverge from your original concept. That isn't the case though, the people who got into your comic came there for what it was, and aren't necessarily so interested they will stay with you if you do drastic changes like this.

Alright, fuck, I'll bite. I'm not past the concept art when it comes to character design, but I have an idea, a setting, and a general idea of a couple character arcs. As they say, write a beginning and an end first, then figure out the middle later.
The premise of the comic is:

A 20-something college drop-out with a shit life has a conversation in a bar with a stranger who asks a few unorthodox questions about his life. The man seems to come to some conclusion about our young protagonist and then leaves. Not much later, a bright light resembling ball lightning appears in the bar and surrounds him. Next thing he knows. he's not in the shitty hole-in-the-wall bar he drinks his troubles away at, but in the middle of a huge sand desert on what can only be an alien world, on account of the two suns in the pale blue sky. Cue wandering through the desert montage.

Eventually he meets some other humans who have very similar stories to his own. Met a stranger, talked to him, he left, and now they're here. Thing is, none of them seem to have come from the same year, though some have only been there a few days or so. One guy has been there a few years, but he says he comes from 1555. They also meet the native inhabitants of the desert planet, some humanoid aliens who's culture is vaguely Arabic inspired. Their technology is pretty much on a Dark Age level, though some technological relics from alien races exist on the planet and are treated as magical artifacts.

The comic covers the human's attempts to figure out how to get home, some political intrigue regarding the planet's factions, and interpersonal conflicts between the characters.

basically the guy who calculated the year of christ's birth, which i fucking forget when this was but it was a lot later than you'd think, did so with a slightly faulty calendar that also didn't have leap years yet, so when they recalculated it it turned out he was born in like 4 BC, and they had to just skip a bunch of years to get back on track, or something.. i could be remembering this wrong. I definitely know that when leap years were properly accounted for, they skipped a bit of time, and it was sometime in the 18th century. and that's why when we celebrate washington's birthday isn't the day HE would have called his birthday
but as it is the gregorian calendar took time to catch on even outside of its inconsistencies.. so it depends where this guy is from. but i love the idea of

I'll definitely have to brush up on my history. Definitely looking forward to writing his dialogue though. This guy grew up in Germany during the early 1500s, so he's OG Holy Roman Empire Catholic. Became a blacksmith's apprentice, learned the trade, joined the guild and learned Middle English to talk with merchants and such from Britain. Now he's on this crazy-ass desert planet, learned Modern(ish) English from one of the few other humans he encountered, and picked up the native tongue as well. It's a clusterfuck of multilingual madness.

>"Oh, you are speakings auf Englisch. Howdy there! Wilkommen to Atothea!"

Steer clear. Either you'll look like a troll to them, or they will tear you a new one.

Try to make your comic more easy on the eyes. More cleaner, better lines. Don't make it too crammed. It doesn't have to be perfect. Many people will just scroll by a comic that is too messy, and a messy comic will not grab attention. Is there a bigger size to this? Will there be color? If there won;t be color, it would be great if you can at least use different shades of green to make it better on the eyes. See, many like to think they can get by by putting the least effort, but not many can pull it off.

ok guys, pls rate my idea:

Black loli finds some amulet that grant her magic powers, so she became basically a magical girl.
The villain is a dark version of her, like those evil sony dark edgy versions.

They start to confront and become rivals, but noone can defeat the other because they always tie or some shit.

So in the end they learn to deal with her alternate version.

Tell me, is andromeda crashing into the Milky Way a central plot element?

Nope. Scale isn't that big by far. This is mostly about a small cast of characters, biggest it gets is conflicts between nations.

i will never understand how that shit works. a galaxy has an average density of something like one hydrogen atom per cubic centimeter. How can it have a shared gravity, when its individual gravity sources (The core etc) are vastly more significant than the whole? I could see a BAR of a galaxy being sort of swept aside by another galaxy's core's gravity, but it's astounding that the entire galaxy would move, uniformly, towards another.. and that they could in any way collide. Seems like even if they occupied the same space, the chance of anything colliding would be like spitting from a plane and hoping to hit a cat

Same with that hero: does he believe in communism or in soviet russia?

Why soviet russia is bad is fairly well known: dictatorship, censorship, goulag, etc.; but if you're going to portray communism itself as bad, I sure hope you've got something else to offer besides corruption and "being used as a pawn", because I'm pretty sure that marx never intended for any of that shit. Otherwise you're just as bad as the faggots shouting about the "capitalist pigs"

While far away from each other, direction and strength is prety much the same, so the galaxy moves uniformly.

Shit starts happening when they get close to each other. Either you hit (rare) or you miss (more common) the object you were being attracted to. If you miss, two things could happen:
a) you go faster (passing behind a big enough object)
b) you slow down (passing in front of a big enough object)

If you speed up, you'll be flung away from whatever orbit you were in, and if you slow down you probably won't be fast enought to miss the next object you pass next to and either crash into it or, if you're insanely lucky, orbit around it for long enough.

This will result in more asteroids and comets picked along the way, or maybe we're flung out of the Milky Andromeda hybrid, or the earth is flung away from the sun and becomes a snowball drifting in the void. Who knows.

not just drawing them in various costumes, but indeed in the full costumes and trappings of an alternate setting, is a really fun way to go. like how manga will often have bits of that for its intro pages. like 'oh hey what if it was arabian nights for everyone and they all drove around in ramshankle cars instead of what i have actually established as the setting'
otherwise little one-shot gags.. eyecatches..

A lot of people actually do use blue. I imagine that might actually be easier, because you can probably just make the blues disappear, or whatever.

Technically they use a blue that's no-repro, it doesn't show up on scans or photocopies. But many use blue because it makes the actual lines that you draw on top of it more readable.
>>
>>77499399

Also, a lot of paper specifically set up for comic parameters (like where the bleed zones, and the print cutoff margins and whatnot) are done in blue as well.

You're dangerously close to giving me an elf ear fetish.

I also did some doodles this morning, though I did it in my notebook when I was supposed to be listening to a professor. Call it early character design. This is the first time I've really used the construction method where you draw out primitive shapes and build on them. Always kind of thought real artists didn't do that and it only showed up in How Do Draw Pokemon books and the like. I really like it actually.

Apologies for the shit quality camera-phone picture.
>>
>>77498770
yeah and when i work digitally i sketch in blue for that reason. well, at first my eyes were so fucked up the blue was genuinely hard to see and thus easy to trace over, but now it's visible but still easy to ignore when contrasted with black. i think it's something to do with wavelengths. red short-wave light like, doesn't dazzle you in the dark, so that's why it's on old clocks and car displays.. it's sensible.. but people like blue better.. and blue's better in a lit place for not sticking out too much
>>
>>77500723
oh crazy anachronistic fantasy worlds. i love you so.
his tibiae seem to be kinda abbreviated in that last panel though, gotta have the artist keep an eye on that. it's a common stnank drawing digitigrade critters

>>
>>77501350
i know right? it feels so dumb when youve trained yourself in drawing shapes, and telling yourself eventually you'll learn every angle of every shape without having to construct, but once you start...
>>
>>77502131
I literally thought it was just stuff they did to make drawing simpler for kids who didn't want to become artists.
>>
Speaking of blue lead, does anyone know a brand of 0.5 blue leads that doesn't break easily? All I've tried are absurdly frail
>>
>>77501350
Don't practice front / side shots, practice in a 3/4 view
>>
>>77502304
oh yeah there's that too. desu that is still a thing, but you'll recognize it by shapes being described as being like other shapes. like a kid would need to hear like 'it's like an apple slice with a bite taken out of it' to be able to do that or something
>>
any good software to write the plot outside simple word processors?

>>
>>77502315

>broke
just draw lightly, it seems you're using too much force.
>>
>>77502330
That's the little one on the right.
>>
>>77502472
I do, and I do.

I usually draw with Staedtler 6B leadholder leads which are very frail and I rarely break them.

0.5 blue leads being fragile to the point of uselessness is a very common complaint, which is why I use 0.7 for blue. The Staedtler 0.5 are simply unusable, sometimes they break from the mechanic action of the pencil itself.
>>
>>77502580
I dunno, I have the same problem but I've just gotten used to it I think.

I just simply replace the broken mine with a newer one.
>>
>>77502450
What do you mean by "simple" word processors? You pretty much have to use one.

Anyway I liked the minimalistic softwares like FocusWriter or Q10 that is good for focusing and getting the wordcount down.

For script writing I used Trelby, it takes a little learning but it's great once you've got the shortcuts memorized.

This was all a while ago, so I don't know if these have died. They're all free/opensource
>>
>>77502450

Seems like a good a time as any to show off.

This is the protagonist of my current project (left), alongside one of the secondary characters. The story is about a witch (see pic related) going on various misadventures in Civil-War era America. All the while the losing Confederate government is trying to recruit her in a last-ditch effort to turn the war in their favor.

I envision a lot of stand-alone storylines that sort of push that broader narrative. It mixes elements from the American western and various pieces of folklore that interest me.

In regard to the feet, though, the largest race of rats in my setting are adapted to vast flat steppe land, so have developed long springy feet in order to bound across the terrain. Their mountain/forest cousins are built more like real rats.

Dogs are basically the "elves" of my setting; the fading remnants of a once-great civilization.

>soft spoken
>cool headed
I finally get it now. It finally makes sense now why I didnt get what people are talking about (such as 'cool head = calm and collected') since yesterday.

Trust is, I knew what 'cool head' means for a long time now, but I didn't see why anon said she was cool headed (thats why I associated it with the term 'cool person' instead) nor why you say she is 'soft spoken', but it makes sense now. To you good englsih speakers, she sounds nice and soft... which worries me. Because this is lost in translation. It means I need to rework on wordings or find more literal display of bashfulness. Because Translated to my language, shes supposed to sound like an arrogant rich girl with big words. Shes smart, but potty mouthed and arrogant... so not so smart.Might be soft in image, but certainly not soft spoken. I made sure the very first line in the first panel showed that, I guess it didn't.

>"The intelligent, beautiful and naturally superior me"

So hey, anyone, how do you decide names for a fantasy setting? a place where adam or steve wouldnt fit.

How do you create meaningful names for the characters without just throwing mythical references or adjectives and nouns together? What about for places? things that will end up being important.

Im feeling a bit lost. I know my setting, I know my story, but i dont know how to sum up all of the parts in one name.
>>
>>77504992
That sounds like a really cool premise for a series. I wanna see more of this.
>>
>>77517090
You could always pull a Pokemon and just go with themes for the area names in your series. Colors, foods, cloud formations, whatever floats your boat.
>>
>>77517090
Depends a lot on tone, but I always rely on /tg/ related stuff for that kind of things. Plenty of good books out there with name/setting/place generators.

If you've got a little more about your plot/setting you want to spill out, I can probably help. Ultimately you don't want a name that is too complex and special snowflakey, but the Adams and Steves don't rightly fit.

I'd say for your style alone, go check out Wakfu/Dofus, maybe Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior, Savage Flower Kingdom, or something like Blackmoore/Old Greyhawk/Mystara/The Known World. Find what culture groups you want to work with most, or mash them up; find what sounds good to you and then make a pattern out of it.

Your style is mad schway.

Working on a Christmas-related special for the Sisters. Got a few ideas, but it's gotta be for the Christmas prior to the comic's start, not the one that'd be happening afterwards due to us having a plot arc for winter.

Thinking of having them get stuck at a truck stop in a blizzard after picking up one of the Society members up who isn't in the current time line a member anymore. Or hell, maybe just Erin or Beatrice stuck with the member. Might use a necromancer guy we've had kicking on the backburner. Erin, some guy from New Jersey, and the girlfriend who offed herself and won't leave him alone; stuck at a truck stop diner; on Christmas. Who knows, I got til the end of the month.
>>77517525
>>77471230
>>77517090
Just looking at them alone.
Little goblin/gnome/goggle guy seems like he'd have a name that sort of rolls off well but still has a bit of hardness to it. Something with a Go or a Po in it. Sort of flighty but with substance.

Goo/Construct looks like its name would either be guttural or kind of flighty. Strong chick looks like she'd have a name befitting a castle, a brick wall, or a hammer.

Lizardman makes me think he ought to have a name that starts with a Chic/Chuc/Chil, something that sounds sort of like the clicking of teeth.

I think a big thing is to make them look like they'd say their own names and it'd be natural coming out of their mouths. In a combat/dramatic sense and in a waiting at the DMV sense.

Digging the style though. Sorry if I'm of no use.

>>77504992

The stigma on furry doesn't spark from the anthropomorphic animals as much as the widespread infantile way of portraying them as sexy. It's much like people don't hate anime because it's anime, but 'cause of certain cliches that make it insufferable when they happen.

sorrrrrt of. they regularly put their entire weight on the entire foot, yes, but so do dogs and cats when they're sitting. rodents, lagomorphs, and macropods have something a bit different than the two rigid typical definitions. Point is they have long feet and regularly stand on tiptoe to reach things or as a normal part of a stride, but in rodents it's not THAT long unless it's a jerboa/hoppingmouse/kangaroorat. but if we're doing mutants here with their own specialized appendages, then the sky's the limit.

Oh man today's inks were brutal (I'm letting them dry on the corkboard while I eat). These will be up as soon as I'm done with the colors.

Also I'm absolutely sad because I have upgraded my plexiglass panel + lamp lightbox contraption with a stronger light, and the heat warps the paper. I'll have to buy an actual lightbox, I'm so broke.

I'm taking a look at the Huion A3 model, do you guys have anything better/cheaper that you own and would suggest over it? Any experience with the Huion?

try switching to a non-heating-up light bulb! fluorescent or summat
>>
>>77524289
Sadly it already was! It's a CFL, 20W bulb but since it needs to be so close to the paper it ends up heating it barely enough to warp it. I had to keep the paper down with a ruler in the other hand, it was absolutely painful to work with.

So I said to myself that I'd finally stop being a faggot and finish something other than doodles, and I thought the current Webtoon contest would be a good occasion. Whether I make something actually decent or something terrible, I win anyway since it helps me progress and fight my fear or drawing with a goal to show it publicly.
There's like 8 year old level submitting in this contest, so fuck it. Why not try.
But the thing is, I can't write for shit.
Is there maybe a beginner scenarist that wants to team up here? The theme is superheroes. I had vague ideas about something where magical girls and sentai teams would "fight" (actually try to team up but obviously different personnalities and generationnal conflict would clash) but I can't develop it.
>>

i had an idea once for a sentai academy, it'd intentionally pack all the mass appeal of school settings with actual deep examination of the sentai genre and its trappings.. different classes based on the different parts of it, and different instructors specializing in the different types, everything from scarf to power armor.
and there'd be a magical girl academy across the lake and they'd have dances and shit.

however, i don't know much about this contest but i assume it's just a short-form story.. so you don't wanna include dozens of characters right off the bat
i suggest just a quirky superhero story that does something new and original with just one hero, or maybe just three

The idea of two very different kinds of heroes fighting together is very appealing.. you might accomplish the same thing with just two heroes instead of two teams.
For that matter though, I want to see a comic about the victims of the collateral damage in this sort of thing. People who had their souls temporarily stolen by the monster of the week, or who lived in those buildings the kaiju knocked over

Welp, I finally managed to sit and paint the strip that was due to last Fri. But now I have a little question to ask, I made two versions for the elbow hit, one that's normal, and the other is smudged a little to give a sensation of speed.
Now, since I use flat colours, I'm not sure the smudge effect is proper for the way I usually work, so I need to rely on you to get feedback.
Which one do you think it looks better?
I still need to make an onomatopoeia for the hit and add Johnny's grunt, but I wanted to sort out that first.

ok so is this a good idea for a story?

It focuses on mainly 2 characters.

a guy whos from a weathly family going to college in a city but theyre not paying for anything but tuition, so he has to find a roommate.but the only available apartments are in the ghetto so he has to room with the second main character, a girl whos been living on the streets since she was born and alone ever since she was 16.

I was thinking of making it a short story about the symbiosis of the 2. The guy needs protection from the girl and the girl needs a way out of the ghetto.

Never too late, but you have to understand that it will take a looooooot of time if you want to get good. When they say 10,000 hours they mean 10,000 hours. Also, if you want to hire an artist "on the cheap" expect cheap mediocre work.

how easy is to sell a comic online?

I mean, amazon and google play.
>>
>>77557500
I see tons of bad to mediocre comics for sale on Amazon, Comixology etc. that definitely have a small fanbase, if any, but I have no way of knowing if they actually make any money. I think building a fanbase before you start to sell your comic is crucial if you're in the Internet self-publishing game.
>>
Villain protagonists- can you dig it? Not in your face evil or anything. At first, it might not even be so obvious that they're the bad guys. They don't even think they're the bad guys (does anyone?), so it probably won't be until about a few chapters in that the readers start to pick up on it. Will this turn readers away?
>>
>>77558400
Really depends on what makes them villains and why.
>>
>>77558400
so you mean sorta like what steven universe looked like it was hinting at for a while. or the beginning of kevin no daibouken.. or a lot of RPGs when they find out partway through theyve been pawns of evil. yeah that works
but i'll say this, if they are straight up like mafia or something and they seemed good but only because the narrative carefully hid bits from us, that will piss the audience off. like.. they'll feel manipulated
>>
>>77558955
I'm not familiar with Steven Universe, so I can't comment on that. But yes, very similar to what happens in a lot of RPGs. I'm not into writing black/white depictions of evil/good, so this will be something subtle- nothing like they run a hitman organization or something.

>>77558896

you have to get a little more specific. technobabble isnt just buzzwords, it's variations on legit technical jargon. like for example saying 'components'

it's been a long time. based on some feedback from a /co/mrade i got some time ago about the pages i already had out, i decided to reboot the comic i was working on with a much cleaner outlook and a take on the story that combines all the ideas for an arc that i had at the time into a shorter, more cohesive story.

The speech bubble is blending in with the background. Try making the background darker or lighter to make it pop.
>>
>>77567798
You need more saturation on your speech bubble if you're going for a plastic look

Humor is meh but then I saw titties. Mosaic titties.

>>77556355

There are plenty of people are considered bad artists but make do based on their writing. So, you gotta be a really good writer. As for drawing, the best practice is JUST DO IT!

>>77556397

As someone who lives by himself and lie awake at night thinking about mortality, I can relate to this.

>>77558400

Just make them endearing and charismatic in a way so that no matter what they are doing the reader will enjoy it. Or give them some sense of honor or good guy traits despite being a villain.

>>77563845
>>77563870
>>77563889

Don't know much about this comic but I love the art and little outbursts and faces. They're not over the top and get a grin out of me.

>>77567008

My characters are usually naked and having sex so there's that.

>>77567502

That's some nice art and yeah, sometimes starting over is best. It helps to iron out all the previous issues.

>>77567798

Yeah what the other guys said. All I can add is... kinky...

Now that I've done my threadly duties, I wanna announce that I got accepted to Project Wonderful! Not only do I now have ads on my site but I'm testing out posting ads on other people's websites. I got a skyscraper ad on Between Failures.

And I also realized I'm shit at design.

I'd post pages here but it's obvious why I can't.

Can't even post the /ss/ comic on /aco/ ain't that a bitch?!

>>77558400
>Villain Protagonists
If you do it right, you ca get a lot of mileage out of it. But what you're talking about is less a villain protagonist and more a character who constantly does the wrong thing.

A villain protagonist knows what they're doing is bad. But they're too deep in it now to walk back, even if they'd like to. A protag who keeps doing the worst choice rationalizes that it'll all be good in the end and he feels bad about it; the villain protagonist has colonized himself with cruelty. It's almost the same thing but there's a fundamental and minute difference.

>>77559081
>Working for the real BBEG, but they drank the kool-aid.
Edward Norton in American History X should be a good example of an arc you want to follow. Especially if you watch the Director's Cut. Ultimately writing someone who is only bad because they're mislead is fine; but it removes agency.

At the end of the day, you're responsible for whoever you hurt. You can blame God, the Devil, or your Boss; but the blood's on your hands for the dirty deed.

Manson family killers and devotees/adherents are kind of fucked up but fascinating. Do your research, there's a wide body of content.

>>77557500
Easy does not equate profitable. It is easy to do.

>>77554545
Sort of contrived.

I'd say wealthy guy whose strings have been cut because his parents aren't into dynastic wealth. He gets tuition, but nothing else. Ends up moving in with his old dealer's ex-girlfriend (as described by you) and they get sucked into a life of crime together trying to make their way out of poverty from different perspectives; maybe set in a neighborhood on the verge of gentrification for added material?

Still contrived, just a bit less sitcom set-up.

>>77569360
Going to add a splash of color to your comic? I remember liking your art but finding that even just a tone over it would've added depth. Regardless, your art looks great.
>>
>>77568898
Ha ha, nice. The layout could use work, but it's still decent. Congrats!

Fucking tell me about it. I still can't believe hinted incontinence is totally kosher, but grown woman on preteen isn't. If there ever was textbook case of a Monkey's Paw, /aco/ is it.

yeah, that's the idea. i'm still figuring out a color scheme to work in, but the last suggestion i got way back on these threads was kind of a limited palette. i got really into 90's anime and synthwave lately, so i'm leaning more towards a simple palette of secondary colors with neon accents, along with plenty of retro-future tech in the setting for good measure. trijicon RMR and surefire pistol light not related.
>>
>>77569647
I mean, if you're gonna go synthwave, go 1980s tactical while you're at it. All black gear, everything has a folding stock, no rails for miles.

I'm so happy! I won't have to spend some 80€ on a lightbox.

I've been around for shops and I found a fantastic 30W LED light I'm going to attach under the plexi sheet. It's so bright and it really makes no heat at all. I love technology.

I have also made some research on LEDs causing damage to the eyes and it seems like it's just fear-mongering. If the claims were true, we'd be screwed from simply staring outside in indirect daylight.

Yeah man, 80s tactical is the best. No MOLLE, no collapsible anything unless it's like a LaFrance M16K or a classic CAR-15, AR-18s with those long 40rd mags, steel-framed pistols only, it's glorious. Here's something that may give you inspiration.
