The people who like it legitamately just have low standards. Im not insulting you for liking it but there are no redeeming qualities or well done aspects, you must just be easily entertained and not care. The effects are fucking awful, the acting is just as bad but even if it was ok there is no good performance possible when the writing is so atrocious. The fight choreography is unbelievably bad and its like Smallville which is the best insult I can think of for it's action.

>>77424848
You know after the 8th thread of bagging on this show by people who have only seen two minutes of the admittedly bad pilot, I begin to think its not so much that the show is bad but that there is some weird need for this show to be bad, even though it's been pretty great since the pilot.

That's not much of a counter-argument. Are you at least going to explain why you think a fight scene from the Flash is so great? Cause the last one I watched involved insane levels of retardation with Barry not just ripping the Hot & Cold Guns from Captain Cold's and that one fire guy's hands. In fact, a lot of the fights on the show are kinda stupid. He should be able to finish 9 out of 10 fights in the show in just a couple of seconds.

>But the Flash is fun! You just gotta turn your brain off sometimes!
Well that's okay, but it hardly passes for good superhero fights like you claim.

Daredevil tries too hard to be a serious crime drama and it fucks up the tone when it then also attempts to be a cape show. It never manages to find a right balance. The use of graphic violence just looks like a vain attempt from the show's part to look edgy and serious, while in truth it just feels off every time it's used. The show also has glaring issues with filler and padding which is absolutely ridiculous considering they must have had almost complete freedom making the show on Netflix. Half the time the story moves at a snails pace because X can't happen yet, with character having repetitious conversations about the same bloody topic we've already seen done twice, some characters don't get developed at all while others just disappear from the story completely and then appear for five seconds to tell their planet needs them, exit door left.

Ben Urich's character is almost complete waste of screen time, only there to work as a fridged character development spring board for Karen who instead of becoming more interesting, only grows to be insane annoying, whiny character.

The season finale completely rushes the resolution and does it in such a hamfisted way it's mindboggling how people then go to say it's the best cape show ever made. A good show doesn't just pull a deus ex machina out of its ass at the last minute to jail -Fisk only then to orchestrate a ridiculous escape for Fisk, just so that Matt can for five minutes put on a horrendous looking outfit and punch Fisk in the face few times in feeble attempt to deliver catharsis in form of a superfluous beatdown.
>>
>>77426404

Ah yes, the clichéd psychologically scarred, alcoholic tough female lead trope protagonist.
>>
>>77427735
>Deus ex machina
How? It's something that was already established as existing long beforehand, and was a direct result of Fisk's actions.

I'll admit Daredevil had flaws, but it's still the best live-action cape show by virtue of the competition sucking ass.
>>
>>77426968
>But the Flash is fun! You just gotta turn your brain off sometimes!
This pretty much sums up the show. It's extremely enjoyable, but if you wanna dissect it from an actual writing standpoint it's pretty fucking bad.
>>
First season of Heroes is the best superhero show we'll ever get anyway. First season of Dexter is the best street-level vigilante we'll ever get.
>>
>>77427852

I need to rewatch heroes tbqh. It was so well done.
>>
>>77427784

If it had been Wesley who squealed, I'd agree. But one detective somehow has enough dirt to get FBI dismantle Fisk's organization and destroy his political power is ridiculous. That would require insanely intimate amount of detailed knowledge and time to get the ball running, not to mention more concrete proof than just one crooked cop's word. But all you see is him talking and then it's game over for Fisk.

And then there's the escape. Fisk's entire organization gets taken down in one shitty montage but somehow he can still orchestrate an escape where he has his own planted men inside his federal custody escort to jail? I might have even stomached the escape if it hadn't ended up with that shitty fight at the alley, and had Fisk just flee the country vowing revenge.

The entire finale was rushed and forced as hell, as if they realized at the last minute that they had written themselves into a corner.
>>
>>77427784
It's actually quite absurd the degree to which it surpasses all the others. You'd think the superhero shows would be better by this point, with all the attention given to superheroes lately. Why are so few stations interested in actually putting some decent actors and screenwriters behind these things?
>>
>it only dropped .8 this week

>>
>>77427988
>I might have even stomached the escape if it hadn't ended up with that shitty fight at the alley, and had Fisk just flee the country vowing revenge.
But then Fisk's defeat would have almost nothing to do with Matt. Which, as you said, was the result of the writers putting themselves in a corner.
>>
>>77425724

>Screenwriters

They'll work for the same money as they do on comics probably. Which is cheaper than the brain-dead mooks they have now.
>>
>>77428083
Because comic writers tend to be writers who weren't good enough to get into television.
>>
>>77428104
And yet they're better than hacks working on actual comic book TV series.
>>
>>77428123
Not really.
>>
>>77428040

It was never established that he would have that degree of knowledge. He was never made out to be anything than just another corrupt cop in the police force. He was not the number one enforcer. How would he know anything about senators in Fisk's pocket? The best he had was the murder of his partner Fisk personally ordered. Yet the show has the detective be the basis under which the entire organization is taken down block by block.

>>77428032
>But then Fisk's defeat would have almost nothing to do with Matt

That's not true. Matt would have contributed to undermining Fisk's fall, just not deliver the finishing blow in the end. It's still weak if Fisk had fled, but at least it would have been less silly than Fisk and Matt going few rounds at a random alley because this ending needs more punching!
>>
>>77428133

To be fair you can't really talk about any other show here since they aren't really board related so people know not to really bring other crap up. Though I will agree that based on some people's complaints and praises about certain things you have to wonder if theyve been exposed to anything else.

>>
/co/ doesn't like it because Jimmy is black and the show is aimed at teenage girls and under and not neckbeards like themselves.
>>
>>77428189
No. The typical comic book's writing is about on-par with AoS or Arrow.
>>
>>77428456
Not the anon you're responding to, but the Flash has a few writers that have written comics. Most notably Geoff Johns and Andrew Kreisberg.
>>
>>77428456
Nah, the likes of Ultimatum and OMD are on par with AoS and Arrow. Actually, scratch that. As shit as OMD is, Straczynski is still better than Guggenhack at given any day.

And that's just ignoring actually good comic book runs that blow those shitty shows out of the water so hard it's not even funny, like Bendis' (>inb4 Bendis is always bad meme) or Miller's Daredevil, Grell's Green Arrow or Rucka's and Brubaker's Gotham Central.
>>
>>77428034
Wow, you're saying the comics board only talks about comic related shows? What a bunch of [filtered word]s!

You /tv/fags really do just see this board as an extension of yours, don't you?
>>
>>77428153
The cop doesn't need to know the intricacies of Fisk's operation to still know enough to convict him. Fucking Al Capone was convicted for TAX FRAUD. He just needs to know enough to put him away, and seeing as him and his (dead) partner were clearly established as being two of Fisk's top guys in the precinct, I'm sure he knows enough.

And your complaints contradict each other. You complain that the cops testimony let's them eliminate all of Fisk's organization, but then complain that Fisk orchestrates his escape from custody. But the very fact that he's able to do that establishes that NOT ALL of Fisk's organization was neutralized, which renders both of those complaints invalid.

Vision was also ridiculous, specially with those pupils
>>
>>77432740
He was pretty good. My only complaints were those really unsettling eyes and being pink rather than red
>>
>>77427006
The liberal media fucking love the show. In the other hand, the general audience doesn't seem impressed
>>
>>77432740
Vision turned out ok considering the design you have to work with. What really bothers me about RT here is the choice of just painting the guys face and calling it a day. Personally I prefer the less expressive face plate

Only watch the first season and treat the season finale as if it were the series finale. Trust me.
>>
>>77425057
kek, they're not even sent to /pol/ anymore
/tv/ is a lot more accurate and that's just sad
>>
>>77428199
I'm talking about actual "fappening" pics.
full penetration.
>>
>>77426784
implying he didn't mean Daredevil
which he definitely did not, but he fucking should have, since Daredevil's fight choreography was wonderful.
>>
>>77433119
I think that's what they were going for. They wanted it to look relatively like human eyes, until you get up close, and realize it's something artificial.
>>
>>77433197
They did a good fucking job with that
>>
>>77433181

How is Louis CK pol related?
>>
>>77435391
