The Mountain is one of the very few more recent Jmoyns episodes I actually liked, so I'm looking forward to that. Cartoon Network in general is just shitting around with most cartoons and fucking them over, most people have no idea about what is currently going on. I don't even hate TTG like most people do (I just don't care), but its omnipresence is just a nuisance to the channel as a whole, even if the kids are currently liking it because of the flashy colors and explosions.

Decided to watch what I've always felt is the worst S1 episode, The Duke, straight after for comparison:

Seasons 1 and 2 are just ridiculously high quality, even the shitty episodes are decent at worst.
I can barely think of any bad early episodes, maybe something like Gut Grinder and the earliest two episodes to start off were a bit rocky, but mostly it's near solid gold. How could you even think The Duke was a bad episode when it has that amazing fight sequence between Finn and Jake?

Yeah the newer episodes are on average a lot more slow and dull, mainly because all the characters have gotten more boring and passive. I disagree a little with your assessment of Mama Said but overall you're pretty right.

Maybe I'm just more used to the show proper or something, but all the voices of the pilot are weaker than the show (Jake notwithstanding), the dialogue is kind of obnoxious too. And that's about it.
I don't see how people can complain about the show having lelrandumb (what a shitty phrase) but love the pilot when that's basically all it is.
I can see why people are into it though, and that fight between Pen and Ice King was pretty neat.

I mostly share the opinion as you, especially for Bonnie and Neddy, Football, and Varmints. I actually liked CCS after watching it the second time, but it just gets plain boring after getting past the half of the episode. Having Starchy as a more important character actually made me feel good first, but it quickly turned into shit after seeing how they handled him. I guess they specifically chose Starchy for the "Now she's married to a jerk" joke.

Even after all those years Evicted and specially the House Hunting song just give me goosebumps. I actually like modern AT and even S6 to a certain degree, but there's something about that episode that makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. The current highlight of the thread is shitposting and some porn comic, which isn't me trying to put myself above anything, it just isn't my thing. Even if CN advertised it more, there isn't much to really attract a fanbase over, at the moment. Sure there was a week of new episodes, but they were standalone episodes, meaning that there really isn't much too them that leaves them open to discussion beyond their own quality and what to expect in the future, which has kind of already been done.
Outside of that, there's still the past which includes the messed up, almost non-existential, airing of the show and then the "quality" of the episodes of the last few seasons still lingering. Alongside that is the fact that a lot of the mystery that once fueled the fanbase is no longer as mysterious, way I see it, how they've proceeded with the show has made the world almost seem small and insignificant where before it seemed limitless and untapped. The little flower didn't need to be a thing forever -- just write it so, in the longterm, he has a plain old stump like Shoko did. Simple but powerful, and you save three whole seconds of drawing time per iteration compared to an arm with fingers.

They value their own plotlines so little they will spit on the audience just to avoid potentially limiting themselves in the future.
