That wasn't the episode I saw. What I was getting at was that it looked like it would be significantly funnier to a child. I laughed once or twice, but most of the jokes didn't land for me.
Also, another note: the main character's design forces the comparison to Sailor Moon, and it isn't very favorable. Usagi is a much more charming character, so that definitely casts the show in a worse light.

The gems are tough, but they're hampered by the fact that A)They all leave their achilles heels fully exposed at all times, and B) they're all melee fighters. We're in the middle of the second season, but we don't know what will happen after that. Alex originally said 3 three seasons, but his most recent statement on the matter said "2 seasons and a movie" might be better.

There hasn't been any official statement, and some suspect him and Disney are still negotiating the matter.
