>Promote fanboy to major executive position instead of somebody with business sense
>flood TV and movie theaters with movies and shows nobody wants
>"look at me!" fanboy event comics for attention, artistic integrity be damned

I don't see how anybody can see this as a good thing. All DC is doing is pandering to whiners for a quick buck. They don't care about the stories artists and writers want to make, just what some fat virgin wants. They ignore the HUGE audience that doesn't have comics made for them, basically telling everyone who isn't white that they don't deserve heroes.

This is horrible for the industry and shows just how desperate they are. Marvel is playing it incredibly smart by sticking to their guns and trying to expand their market, because basement dwellers are not a sustainable audience.

Seriously, how can anyone look at DC and not think to themselves "yup, that's a company in its death throes". They're just not making it work any more, and the reboot and huge ad blitz that was meant to fix everything? The ads didn't bring in the number of readers DC needed, and the "reboot" just caused a fucking jawdropping mess that's dragged the quality of stories even further down the drain.

Then they killed Vertigo. They fucking killed Vertigo. WB said "wait, why the fuck do you have an entire line of books where creators have rights? Fuck that, change the contracts so that you own EVERYTHING you publish and trample over creators as much as possible," and DC did it. They fucking did it. One of the dumbest moves ever made by a comic company, up there with direct distribution, letting the speculator market spiral out of controland the DC Explosion.

DC's dying, at least the comic division. The properties are somewhat viable for movies and TV, but the comics? HA. It's been common knowledge that DC sucks for years now. This is pretty much a death rattle for Damage Control. I'll be shocked if they're even above Image in 5 years.

RIP. You won't be missed.

I've been thinking this for a really long time, but this week has really made me come to terms with the fact that I hate DC. I've tried to give them a chance in the past but nothing they've ever made has really interested me. Marvel has offered me stuff like Spiderman, Daredevil, and Punished that I've grown up with, but DCs heroes have always been kiddish and underdeveloped in comparison.

What also gets me is how anal DC fans are. I've noticed that almost all DC fans are social outcasts while the majority of people happily grow up with Marvel. It feels like a really contrarian way to make decisions. With that comes a sense of unwarranted self importance. DC fans like to pretend their books are "smart," and have a lot of guys like Morrison that write a lot of pseud gobbledygook. DC stories are all about being told how smart you are and being meta. Marvel isn't high art but they're good at telling stories about people that act like people.

But what really gets me is that they're always rebooting and pushing events that do nothing but dredge up shit from their past for nostalgia. It's a backwards way of writing that shows that they're creatively bankrupt, and I feel like they hurt ALL comics, not just their own.

What do you think? Why do you hate or like DC?

Maybe not, but neither is tumblr.

>hey ignore the HUGE audience that doesn't have comics made for them, basically telling everyone who isn't white that they don't deserve heroes.

The audience you're talking about doesn't exist.

Yeah, in retrospective it's dumb. One meeting with space alien bug and you finish like that guy from Heroes for Hire.

What 90s cartoons do you think hold up well? The only rule is

You had to have watched/rewatched them in the past 7 years (2010-2016)

For me, the best 90s cartoons that still hold up to this day are Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Darkwing Duck, Hey Arnold!, Rocko's Modern Life, The Angry Beavers, Ren and Stimpy, Batman Beyond, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, and Courage the Cowardly Dog

New Kickstarter update. First, a new teaser for Wakfu season 3:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvIj3_n0v5U

>The first episodes - well as the whole season in fact - are still in production. We are continuing to look for partners on this third season. Our main concern is to keep on working without artistic compromises, like we did for both seasons and for the OAVs.
>during November, we are launching a new special operation for our players. We are proposing brand new items on our video games and the money raised with these items will be invested in season 3. You can find more info in the link at the end of the teaser above if you want to take a look.

>in the following days we will be releasing our online game DOFUS on Steam in the US and Canada, and guess what’s coming with it? The movie DOFUS – Book I: Julith! We don't plan to stop with Steam in the US, and we hope that wherever you are, in Asia or Europe or Latin America, you will also be able to see the movie soon. It’s quite complicated to forecast exactly what will happen because everything is linked to the movie's broadcasting rights (and believe us when we say it’s a mess), but we will succeed! :D

>We will probably organize a little contest very soon - a quiz perhaps - and the winners will receive a Steam key to see the movie (and we are deeply sorry in advance but this will be only accessible for those of you in the USA or in Canada).

So kind of like crowdfunding but essentially it's digital rewards only and you get them immediately. French players can buy early access to the first two episodes in March, but it's France-only. Wonder what that implies for the rest of KS backers.

What brought you into comics /co/?
I always thought video games would be my number one hobby but recently it just doesn't cut it.
It doesn't bring me as much happiness when I buy a paperback to add to my collection, it's really hard to explain but there's something about comics that makes me happy and here I thought I only read books.

Elsa Bloodstone is confirmed to be playing a roll in the upcoming Marvel event "Monsters Unleashed"

Songbird is a relatively small character, but Marvel has been hinting a push for her for a while

Both of these ladies seem to be on the verge of becoming more prominent characters within the Marvel universe. It's nice to see Marvel planning to build up some of there existing properties rather than shoving more nuHuman OC in our faces. That being said, I have very little knowledge about either of them.

What is the best comic run for each of them? Something that would make make a person give a shit about these characters

Elsa is significant from Nextwave, mainly. Songbird is already at the least a B-Lister from Marvel and has had strong supporting/leading roles since Thunderbolts started.

What's /co/'s opinion on the new Josie and the Pussycats?
16 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Not enough romping around in cat leotards.
>>
I think it's brilliant. I don't know how Marguerite Bennett does it, but her dialog so damn good in this comic and she makes the Pussycats so damn likable that I could read this comic for days, even if it had nothing but the girls goofing off or even just being proffessional musicians. Seriously, I don't tend to re-read most comics in a hurry but I found myself going back to this and just reading a page here and there because it's so much fun.

Also the art is GORGEOUS. What do you know, you CAN make a comic about women for women and make it hot at the same time!

Out of ALL the revamped Archie comics, this is by far the best of the bunch, and IDW should be lying in wait, ready to poach this creative team for Jem and the Holograms or that new Misfits comic THE MOMENT Bennett, DeOrdio and co. are off this comic! ESPECIALLY Audrey Mok and whoever does the coloring, holy shit will those comics need a great artist!

None. DC needs to drop this "Killing horrible people makes you just as horrible as them" bullshit already.

Why? We should still strive to do right. Killing is the line between hero and villan. Ability to justify killing doesn't make it right because any action can be justified with the appropriate intellect or mental gymnastics.

https://d23.com/the-voices-you-love-are-back-in-disney-xds-big-hero-6/?share_token=7690b883e2

>At the end of Disney’s Academy Award®-winning animated film Big Hero 6, we left our favorite team of scientific prodigies as triumphant heroes, ready to defend their city as superhero team Big Hero 6. We were all left wondering: What’s next? How will 14-year-old tech genius Hiro handle starting school at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology? What kind of new, high-tech villains will the team have to face?

>You don’t have to wait around long to find out! Big Hero 6 is a new animated series coming to Disney XD in 2017, picking up immediately following the riveting events of the feature film. To help tell this new story, a whole cast of familiar voices have returned to reprise their roles from the movie: Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass; Jamie Chung as electromagnetics specialist Go Go; Scott Adsit as everyone’s favorite inflatable health assistant, Baymax; Alan Tudyk as tech guru Alistair Krei; Ryan Potter as robotics prodigy Hiro; Genesis Rodriguez as the bubbly chemist Honey Lemon; David Shaughnessy as the butler, Heathcliff; and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee as Fred’s dad.

>The super team is rounded out by newcomers Khary Payton (The Lion Guard) as laser specialist Wasabi and Brooks Wheelan (Saturday Night Live) as everyone’s favorite mascot by day—and also by night—Fred. Additional newcomers to the series include Jenifer Lewis (black-ish) as strict Professor Granville, Andrew Scott (Sherlock) as mysterious new villain Obake, comedian Andy Richter as Globby, Diedrich Bader (American Housewife) as Bluff Dunder, Susan Sullivan (Castle) as Fred’s mother, Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs) as Richardson Mole, John Ross Bowie (Speechless) as Mel, and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs) as classmate Karmi.

>Returning to the super hero storytelling arena are executive producers and Emmy® Award winners Mark McCorkle, Bob Schooley, and Nick Filippi, originally known for their global hit Disney Channel Series Kim Possible, another story about tech-powered super-teens saving the day. Filippi is also the supervising director of the series.

>If you’re going to San Fransokyo, you’re gonna meet some super people there! So, if you’re in need of some care from Baymax, a support network of tech geniuses, or a day to save, be ready to tune into Disney XD in 2017 to catch the new series Big Hero 6!
