It doesn't make sense. Surely they had to know the writers were out of good ideas by that point and the show had passed its peak cultural relevance. From a purely business POV, I don't see how they benefited from keeping the carcass alive artificially for decades past its expiration date.
But then I'm not a network exec, so what do I know.

The show's rating are probably 10% of what they were in 1993. I don't know a single person IRL who still watches the Simpsons and most of them are surprised to learn it's even still on TV.
And how much merch do they even sell anymore? I mean, back in the early 90s the shit was everywhere but not now.

I hate how flimsy the paper is. And how expensive it is. I dislike that I have to store them in bags and boards in a box. I hate how expensive comic book dividers are. £2 per a divider is insane.
I love everything else. I love video games and I enjoy making them, but comics will always be my passion. Every Wednesday brightens up my week.

Wasn't bad. Could've been a lot better. It's good aspects were that it was a lighthearted show that was casual enough to pick up and kill time. The downsides were that a lot of the characters were just downright annoying or walking cliches.
6.5 or 7 out of 10 is where I'd probably rank it. Fun show but ultimately forgettable.
