I got ratted out by a coworker that said I smelled like booze. I blamed it on my spray-on sunscreen. which is alchohol based. Got lucky, she's a new employee and I've been there over 10 years. So, I could play it off, but now totally under the gun.
I wasnt even that drunk, Just had a hair of the dog wakeup shot. Ironically I've been more intoxicated waking up wasted or being hung over than I was that day.
The moral of the story. Statistics have a way of catching up to you. I thought I was so clever as a kid getting high on the downlow only to get caught by every single employer. Never fired and those were shit jobs, but this is a career.

I've been taking anti depressants for over a year now and every weekend I always drink. They told me not to drink while I'm on them but I obviously didn't listen. I start drinking on Friday night or Saturday and stop Sunday depending if there's a holiday. The first couple of days I can barely sleep and my mind is racing constantly, it's usually bad thoughts. I'm about ready to quit because I'm scared that one day I'll live out the actions I think but probably not, anyways, has anyone completely stopped drinking and switched to high CBD marijuana strains? I've been taking those CBD tintures for awhile now and it really relaxes my mind without the racing thoughts. My body is pretty shit when it comes to THC and it makes me paranoid as fuck but reading into these high CBD type marijuana strains makes me want to completely quit drinking. I wouldn't consider myself a heavy drinker, maybe. I go through 30 16oz cans of beer within the span of 3 days so idk what to do.

Actually looking back on it I'm fine because I thought a handle was 750ml, but it turns out it's 1.75 and the bottle I'm drinking says 1 liter so that seems actually not bad at 1/3 to 1/2 a quart a day. I was worried at the handle notion, but I'm glad everything is okay still new to hard liquor since I sworn off it since my school days but I'm trying to save $$.

I was charged with impaired driving (DUI in Canada) years ago. I rarely drive but I had my parents' truck for the week. Decided to drive while drunk because I'm an idiot, got pulled over and was given a breathalyzer. I didn't blow 'over' but I was in the "intermediate" range. I only have my N license (between learner's and full) so this was not okay at all. They impounded the truck for a couple days, lost my license for three months and got charged a few grand but that was it. I was told by the cop that I was pulled over a few days before WAY stricter laws went into place, so I probably would have been fucked if it had happened a few days later.

I felt/feel like a total piece of shit for driving drunk. It was my first time doing it and I got caught, which I think is a good thing. If I'd gotten away with it it might have become a habit. Never done it since, never intend to do it again.

Here's what I noticed about probation while I was on it....EVERYONE that gets into legal trouble gets probation. So there are a ton of people to supervise....Most of those people are genuinely real criminals (have robbed stores, raped, beat people up, stabbed people). Probation officers don't have time for petty law breakers when those people are a higher priority


I also noticed when I was arrested for DUI (I was in a cell next to the sallyport so I saw everyone who came in and heard what they were being booked for), Literally in a 14 hour period of being in jail I heard at least a dozen people come in for DUI on a Friday night/Early Saturday morning.


The police/probation officers don't have time to supervise dozens of new DUI's when they have more serious criminals to watch.


Learned my lesson though, I would rather walk or pay uber fucking 80 dollars then sit behind the wheel after I've been drinking. Not worth it

Almost everyone I know has gotten at least 1 DUI, An most are not alcoholics.

First offense DUI in the U.S. usually you just get probation and a fine, Maybe losing your license for 90 days.

The 3rd one is usually a felony in most states but still you would get a slap on the wrist, At most maybe 90 days in the county jail and a fine. You aren't really in danger of losing your license permanently until the 3-5th DUI

In some states that don't like the constitution (police states) will openly violate your 4th amendment rights and just set up a police checkpoint to check for drunk drivers on the weekends, They'll block off a whole highway and try to talk to each driver to see if they smell like alcohol.

In my area the first DUI is a $1500 fine, mandatory alcohol education classes, license suspension, and there is the option of jail time depending on how lenient (or not) the judge is. If there is property damage or someone is injured then the penalties are far more severe. And of course there are a bunch of other costs beyond the fine itself.

Around here there are 3 major legal problems you can get into that don't involve violence, robbery, etc: DUI, not having motor vehicle insurance, and passing a stopped school bus that is loading/unloading children.

You don't have to be a dick to the cop while your letting him know he's not going to search without probable cause or a search warrant. I've told several cops that they cannot search my car and I'm not going to answer any questions (you know the questions they ask, Where are you going...Where are you coming from....What were you doing there?...Questions to smell your breath or find out if your story jives) and the officers were always polite to me after I declined to answer their questions politely or look inside my car.

Everything about driving in the US is more casual/less serious than in Europe. I'm American, but think it's important to take driving more seriously, like Euros do, because it's so dangerous. Here, the driving "test" you take at 16 is nearly a joke, and police will only pull you over for speeding egregiously, running red lights, and drink driving. So i recently tried pic related and loved it, easily my favourite beer. I've been going through this major issue of where i drank an IPA and then regular pale ales didn't do it for me. Then a few years later i found out there was a double/imperial IPA and now i can drink regular IPAs down like water. I have a ton of piss bottles I don't know what to do with. The recent ones are fine, I an empty them and reuse or just empty and toss when the smell of rancid piss gets too strong.

But these sets of bottles I had forgotten about months ago, a few half gallon / 2 L bottles and some smaller ones. They were moldy inside and that was over a month ago when I hid them away in a garbage back. Haven't looked at their state since.

What the fuck do I do with them? I don't dare open them now as I feel like that shit would be toxic, and even if not I live in a shared household and the reek of moldy piss would probably cause a shitfit and get the landlord involved. I am afraid to try and dump them in a dumpster somewhere and get caught trying to illegally get rid of a bag full of moldy piss bottles.

Every day I walk down an alleyway to get booze. This is literally ten seconds walk from the shop, in a secluded area. Every day the pile gets bigger.

for me, if its mild, i usually just chug a big gatorade when i wake up and try to move on with my day

harsher hangovers ill switch that gatorade to pedialyte and try to eat throughout the day if im not to nauseous. then try to eat a big lunch to finish it off
