Why? The choice is clearly on dip-ability and the bone shape makes it more difficult with compact dipping containers. After you dip the smaller end of the bell, you bite the nugget in half and then turn the remainder sideways to dip again. Boot has the advantage of also acting as a scoop for the dip and the ball is just plain retarded.
