I thought about it, a couple years ago, but it's basically on the same level as hardcore airsoft operators.
You buy a bunch of Russian military surplus, buy some patches, then walk around with a vodka bottle and an airsoft AK or an acoustic guitar.
I know Nugget Enterprises has real live gorkas in stock, as well as Stalker patches.

Kryptek is getting dropped for a solid color outfit either classic Merc Navy or some Dark grey get up. Mask was a place holder until I got my hands on a GP-21K which I've managed to do and also managed to fit a MSA tinted lens on. As for the SCAR well I figured a gucci 5.56 rifle would suit a Mercenary character since they were supposedly western backed in game.

Tfw can't even bring real looking guns to my cons. Stupid German weapon laws ;_;

I've never cosplayed before being a fatass and all, but I've been wanting to do this for a while. I've always loved the design of the roving trader outfit in fallout. I've been saving up caps as well to go along with it.

I'm having trouble finding a jacket my size, that isn't too expensive. I'm too much of a beginner to try and make my own..although a makeshift look might help with the whole post apoc aesthetic.

I could be wrong here, but it looks more like a trenchcoat (with pockets sewn in the front) and some old leather ALICE gear. Throw in that leather apron with some extra pockets sewn on, and you might have something really close to the original design

There's nothing really distinctive about it. You'd have to tell people it's from STALKER, which kind of sucks, so I doubt many people do it.

I can't think of one actual character design that isn't just regular clothing and tac gear, especially one that anybody will readily notice.

I threw one together years ago.

I hate that this is the only photo I have, for a number of reasons - one is that I had a much better mask setup that wasn't ready for this con, another is that I forgot my gloves for this event, and a third is that the lack of trigger safety in the photo triggers the fuck out of any /k/ types. (What actually happened is that the photog explicitly asked me to pose as if I were firing, and then somebody walked right in front of me and I instinctively dropped the muzzle right as the photo was taken.)
