I want to start investing

I've lost about $40 so far, but that was mostly because Amazon dipped badly last week, it's on an up now. I'm very much a new investor, only about two weeks so far. Come hang out in the Robinhood general. >>1591378

It's only a temporary loss, though. Amazon will bounce back right to where it was and make long term, slow gains. It's a safer stock. There are ones that make more money faster if you buy and dump quick, but that needs some experience, which I still lack. Don't let that deter you, give this some consideration.

Robinhood is a great way to go, though. You can experiment and learn with cheap stocks since there are no broker fees.

It works much better the other way around.
Otherwise, your need to earn and fear of loss eventually ruin your trades.

I started here 6 months ago with $1,000 in a robinhood account.

Studied a little, followed memes. I went up to $1,500 and got excited and hopeful about trading as a side job.

Now I'm at $800. Thanks GEVO and DRAM.

Hate to say it, but the old folks are right. Use an index fund or blue chip stocks and be content with your 5% - 8% per year.

Those are just inverses of each other, how would you make any money with that?

I use other platform methods and private funds, as well as FX and the occasional stock. AM up 41.72 % since Jan.
Have had some fluctuation and spikes with FX, but Britex made it up and more some.
