--FAQs for Robinhood--
Visit the website first - www.robinhood.com
If you're not into robinhood - http://www.stockbrokers.com/offers
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
It's also pretty basic software.
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).
> It's been X days, why isn't my account isn't verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> Is this the right place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
You have found the right image board ;)
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.
>How do I git gud?
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/candlestick.asp?layout=infini&v=5F&orig=1&adtest=5F

> If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free riding' violations?
No, its not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you don't have instant, RH won't let you buy with unsettled funds
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. http://www.memuplay.com/

How much does it cost to start a brokered online account? I like RH but I would like tools to search sectors and do better research. I figure I can start an account with them, stick the money in bluechip growth and use their tools to make my RH trading more profitable.

Was it truly surprising that ATVI would do good? Pretty sure a lot of people knew it was going to be good for this quarter. People already priced in way before the announcement of the ER, don't expect huge gains. ATVI is still a pretty good hold.

you are going to get fucked in the ass with currency conversion if you even THINK about buying american stocks

just buy index funds, td e series funds, or other low MER rate funds instead of listening to these clowns

if you are not going to listen to my advice, check out questrade, at least when you realize you are throwing your money away you can then buy ETFs for free and get some decent safe returns for low cost

How so? If I convert 10k CAD into USD then I am expecing to get 7.6k USD or whatever is the rate at the moment of conversion.
Are you saying my broker will fuck me by taking a huge margin?
>>
Is now a good time to buy $DRIP?
>>
>>1430816

Rate is different both ways. You'll get 7.6k USD which is worth 10k in one direction. On the return conversion that same 7.6k will only be worth say 9.8k CAD.

So I've been looking into CLDCW lately...
Like actually doing research and everything. Or trying to at least.

But I can barely find info on it anywhere. It's so new that no one reports on it, and there's no stocktwits page or anything of the sort.
Well, It's been going nowhere but up pretty much since it was listed on Nasdaq.

I found this and it looks good
>Founded in 2009, China Lending is a non-bank direct lending corporation and provides services to micro, small and medium sized enterprises, farmers, and individuals, who are currently underserved by commercial banks in China. Headquartered in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, with a registered capital of $94.7 million as of March 31, 2016, China Lending is one of the largest direct lending companies in the region in terms of registered capital.

The only real info about them is the SEC form and it's almost 60 pages long.
I'm sorta reading through it, but I don't know what is good or bad or important or not. The fact that they're not really doing anything also causes a problem as there's no earnings dates or anything like that. They didn't just pop out of nowhere either though.

Point is, this stock has been going up, it's too new, but the company has been around about 7 years now, and they don't have a business deal yet.
I think if they get a deal soon it will explode though, but even if they don't it's still going up now.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to shill this or anything, I'm just looking for a second opinion on it from someone more knowledgeable, and you guys are the only ones I can turn to as there's no articles or other opinions on it anywhere
>>
>>1430876

I don't have too much time rn, so I'll just take a look at their tech and not how they do financially

*Isothermal Amplification
Basically trying to develop a better method for making copies of DNA. The problem here is that although the traditional method for this (called PCR) takes a very long to complete (2-3 hours), it is still the preffered method in pretty much every lab because it's ridiculously simple and cheap. It's going to be really difficult to develop something better (faster) that's still simple and cheap.
From what I just read on GBN's website, it looks like their method isn't really special (I doubt all of it can even be protected by IP, so anyone can potentially use that method). The way they will try to make money is by making a device that makes it easy to perform their method. But if the method is crap, the device will be too.
GBN is definitely not the only one working on this. I remember reading an article on Nature a couple months ago about a method developed by some physicists that uses light and is really fucking fast (5 min). This method also has much better potential for commercialisation because it's actually the hardware and the physics behind it that makes this possible.
http://www.nature.com/lsa/journal/v4/n7/full/lsa201553a.html

*The Array (a small diagnostic chip)
This basically allows you to detect whether a certain DNA sequence is present in your target sample without having to sequence it. For example, to find out whether a certain bacteria is present or whether this strain is pathogenic or not.
This is absolutely not new in any way. The market for this is pretty big, but will get smaller once DNA sequencing becomes cheaper and easier (e.g., the Nanopore). If their method is accurate (and cheaper than the competition), this could definitely make them some money.

1/2
>>
>>1431142
From a quick look, it seems like most of their products (tests) are based on the array that they have developed - which can be used for a lot of different tests (simply adding different DNA molecules to the array so that it can screen for different DNA sequences). Some of their tests based on the array are already FDA approved and there is no reason why new tests wouldn't be approved.

So what do I think? Well, it doesn't look like they have anything groundbreaking going on. So don't expect to make a quick buck. However, their array looks solid and can easily be expanded to include other tests. But keep in mind that the market for this is highly competitive and new arrays are developed all the time.

2/2

>>1431144
Please take a look at IMNP, RPRX and IGXT

>IMNP

I'm very sorry, don't have much time and can't give a detailed answer

HOWEVER, let me teach you something important about antibody-based drugs

Any pre-clinical, phase 1, or phase 2 data regarding antibodies (you can also recognize these if the drug name ends with "-mab") is absolutely useless. We have studied countless examples of antibodies that were very promising in the early phases but, somehow, at the very last stage of clinical trials showed to be no better than the placebo. So don't just jump on board when an immunology company shows promising phase 2 data for a drug.

I might have more time in a couple of hours to review some biotech companies

Earnings is AH tomorrow. Form the looks of it, it's gonna climb tomorrow even before earnings. Guys, remember when ever a stock just spikes up like this during the day it's because ssomeone put in a huge fucking order. That spike was some insider shit. Something is brewing behind the scenes with GEVO and someone knows about it. I seriously advise you anons to get in before earnings. GEVO is about to go for a second fight.
>>
>>1431967
I had before after it shot up 100% earlier in July on great news, but everybody dismissed it as a fluke, been holding since soonly thereafter but just got tired of it and expected a dip after my sale, from all of my DD it looks like a fantastic long though

Why don't we do some proper DD on GEVO since so many people will be looking into buying. I'll post some preliminary research, and people with more info can add on. Also if any TA fags could contribute, that would be great.

Earnings: Has beaten estimates for the past 3 quarters.

Q4(2015)-Q1(2016): Estimated spread of +8¢, actual spread of 14¢. Highlights:
• ASTM certification of GEVO fuel

Q1(2016)-Q2(2016) Estimated spread of +5¢, actual spread of ???. Highlights
• Agreement for Clariant Corp to develop GEVO catalysts.
• Hired Cowen & Company for Financial analysis
• Successful Alaska Airlines flight on GEVO fuel (first real flight)
• 9.5million$ IPO of GEVO owned stock
• Agreement with Musket Corp to supply Isobutanol gasoline mix to marine markets and automotive markets in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.

GEVO has had a ton of activity this quarter. IPO means they need more cash, All of these agreements costs them money and they are probably bleeding. +5¢ doesn't sound too difficult to beat, but they might be struggling. However this doesn't matter too much if their guidance looks good for the next quarter. Which really looks good actually. Success with their new products and further supply of an old product means they should be looking for more revenue come Q3.

Problem is GEVO is volatile as fuck. One little mess up could kill investor confidence and send this sucker to rock bottom.

Maybe, the point is to generate some meaningful discussion about a specific stock. If I'm the only one posting I might as well be shilling.

Honestly everyone should do DD before buying, its stupid not to, and you learn so much more about investing than just blindly following the shills.
>>
>>1432269
My problem is finding a source, where do you go? Outside of just yahoo finance and whatnot
>>
>>1432320
The companies fucking website lol.

They all literally have a page called investor relations where it is in their best interest to give you as much info as possible. Any negative news can be quickly found with the ticker name and a sorted by date google news search.
>>
>>1432323
>>1432269

On a long-term basis the company looks fantastic, especially at the price we see now. Will they beat ER? Should you bet on it? I really wouldn't. I'll be buying in after ER and holding for a long time.

What do y'all think? Is it worth it to play ER? Does this stock actually have a future? I could check what the stock does after positive ER's, a lot of low-cap stocks are priced in already and plummet after people take profits, but I'm sure DD anon knows what it usually does.
>>
GEVO down 2.5% AH, what do you guys think?
>>
>>1432329
It went up 10% after last earnings, but I didn't look past that. Keep in mind it only had a volume of 18mil shares traded in that day, so I don't know what will happen with a lot more volume.

Even if you plan on holding long term I encourage you to do research. Knowing how a stock reacts to knews/trends will really help you figure out good exit and entry points.

>>1432358
Literally means jack shit, especially after a +14% day. Probably just some investor who wanted to lock in gains.
>>
>>1432360

I am but there's no way I'm playing earnings on a pennystock no matter what. I'll research it more after ER.
>>
>>1432362
Good point, I've never really played earnings with a penny stock like this. Honestly I don't think the EPS will have a huge effect on the stock (unless it is total shit). What is going to be important tomorrow is the guidance. GEVO has set up a lot of ducks this quarter, people want to see what the plan is. If investors can be convinced, there will be a lot of positive volume which will increase the stock price the next day.

Keep in mind most people trading here are don't have much money invested and are trading short term. For those people playing the ER is the right move. Unless you really believe in the company, butting a large percentage of your portfolio into this company and holding out for a while seems like a very risky move.
>>
>>1432372

Well after I do DD, if it seems really good I would put in 10%

i wouldn't play ER with this one. if they beat expectations there might be a small bump... but the last one didn't hold.

All the technical analysis says GEVO is overbought. I know this is a very volatile stock so technical analysis doesn't work to well but but it certainly means it will crash hard if the ER is bad.
>>
>>1432448
Thanks for the insight, can you post your technicals? I would be interested to see your numbers and how you got them.
>>
>>1432457

The stochastics are both at or above 80 indicating overbought, the MACD is showing a strong divergence implying the current trend will end soon, the RSI is at 75 indicating overbought, and the price is sitting outside of the top Bollinger Band.

I get all of my technical information from Yahoo Finance. I'm pretty new to this but this looks really overbought to me.

I could consider a short term bounce play.
>>
>>1432493
tough one. drop due to sales decline of 5-10%. some big bets being made on this tho... so maybe it's best to look at overall consumer spending.

>consumer confidence about spending could be a good sign for the economy. Economists forecast a 0.4% monthly gain when the Commerce Department reports July retail sales on Friday.

soo... if the numbers look good friday i would guess this goes up.
