Has anybody here lost money or had a bad beat that made them leave crypto? Do you regret leaving?

Howdy, Captain Steelhands here. I held BTC from 2012 until 2016 when I started swapping it out for ETH (I'm now all ETH and ETH assets). I lost 20 - 30k after MTGox crashed, holding my bags all the way. Everything I have lost, I have regained many fold, because I don't try to day trade.

If you had AU$5000 that you wanted to invest in crypto, where would you put it?
I'm thinking:
20% Bitcoin
40% Ethereum,
10% each in ARK, Waves, BAT, Wings.
Thoughts? Not looking to short, just looking for a solid buy and hold portfolio to build over the coming weeks

If I bought 20k of BTC on coinbase, sent it to the exchanges and made money, then sent back 20k of BTC to coinbase and withdrew it to my bank account, do I have to pay taxes on it? No right? Because I didn't technically "earn" any fiat money?

Normies discussion thread
Talking to my dad on the phone and he mentions he just had a $100k Certificate of Deposit (CD) that he made 2% interest on mature and now he has some cash lying around. "I think I might just buy another CD, I won't make money but I'll never lose it" then I explain inflation and how he's literally losing money but he doesn't seem to really care
Talking to my brother and he's completely uninterested in investing in any way, just "saving" by keeping everything in his savings account. That's great, he's ahead of the game, but that raw fiat just laying there gives me severe OCD and almost makes me mad
They won't listen to me and at least invest in some worthwhile assets. I'm not some expert, I don't claim to be, but they are not even trying at all. I give them even basic shit tier advice like "your age in bonds, the rest in stocks" and they don't really care.
Am I back-seat managing their money and need to just fuck off? I guess I probably am... But I'm still right

I am planning on setting up a 6 gpu mining rig and am looking the 1050 ti. The only issue is these cards do not allow for aux power supply and get it all from the mb. Would i risk burning something out if I got an ASRok mb capable of holding 6 gpu's?

and sold it all by like may last year.
and before that I could have bought BTC at ~$200.
I also bought WAVES ICO and sold it for immediate gains on exchange. it's like 10-30x now and quit crypto right before Stratis ICO started.
