Introducing some mythological supermonsters is escalating beyond reason and redundant. Inclusion of such thing imply the existence of a whole supernatural world which nonetheless remains inconsequential to the larger setting as what the monsters do can be done by a simple abuser or a cat. It is against conservation of detail and I think it is jarring.

Further I'd say simply because fluffies are stupid and uncomprehending doesn't make it a lovecraftian situation, that is just limited cognitive ability existing in setting. I agree, horrorbox may be just some redundant stuff made as an eye candy for those hungry for real horror, but personally I like to think of horrorbox as something that is actually seen from the fluffy perspective.

In the Pirate comic I just posted, the fluffy is all cool and nice with its daddeh, but then daddeh talks with a scary voice and the fluffy instantly sees him as a monster daddeh. Goes out, finds human with another fluffy but sees the human normal. Afterwards the fluffy finds a feral fluffy and lures him into the house, scary place all along, building up something in that will make the feral fluffy finally see some monster instead of a real human.

I know it may not be the original intention of whoever drew it, or the horrorbox fandom overall, but that's just how I personally like to see it.

I think often fluffies are too uniform in their behavior. Keep in mind slightly individual rates of maturation.
Try to show the conflict of natural animal instincts and the inhibitions imposed by hasbio gengineering. Fluffy goes through puberty but sexual things are wrongbad, that is prime angst material.
Try to use the fluffies innocence to make them oblivious to sexual contexts a human clearly sees.
Make them not understand what their body does. Just because they mate like pests doesn't mean the process is smooth and the programm runs through clearly every time.
And the rate at which they mature and how short their life phases are means singular events can throw their psychological formation of greatly. When they mature in days and weeks a whole developmental phase can be thrown of and occupied by a sense of confusion by one event.
And the owner might not realize in time to correct.

A few threads back, I saw a comic mention what is basically a "shit sac" where fluffies store shit to expel as part of a "sorry poopies" attack. Is that a widely accepted thing?
