They fucking suck now. Got sold out to the jews that own the music industry to garuntee a huge spotlight on their comeback, but the shitty political spin they put on all their songs will be the end of them.

Del is black. The people on the new albums are niggers. Get it right.
>>
gorillaz albums have been half filled with shit since they lost their groove (after demon days). Demon Days and Gorillaz have a certain feel to all their songs, even though all the songs are totally different. They all share a trait: they're smooth, subdued, calm. Gorillaz isnt like that anymore. Just look at mamba #9. Its a bunch of people chanting and screaming to a loud annoying instrument. The rappers have especially changed, theyre a lot less like snoop dogg and more like eminem. I dont like the change in direction.
>>
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dONxX9rifs
Now this one. This is only one that remotely sounds like they put effort into it. The rest were awful to mediocre but this is actually good.

the beginning of it is total shit. just a guy slurring loud rhymes into a mic. rest is tolerable.

dirty harry, the sunshine in a bag song and feel good inc all have great rappers. Good rappers turn their voices into an instrument: if this guys rapping was an instrument, itd be a kazoo.

I don't see the point talking gorillaz with people who think everything after demon days is shit.

Plastic Beach is an amazing album and Humanz is shaping up to fantastic. 4 songs so far and they are all great.

Every Gorillaz album has had great songs with black musician. All this nigger shit doesn't make sense if you have listened to gorillaz before. They've had niggers since day one.
>>
>>728285553
its just edgelord /b/kiddies running their mouths. they probably weren't even born when gorillaz self titled was released

>I don't see the point talking gorillaz with people who think everything after demon days is shit.

As for the 'nigger' thing, I think you need to read the rest of the thread. Only those 2 b8rs said anything about it.

>>
>>728285991
Let Me Out > Saturnz Barz > We Got The Power > Andromeda > Ascension
>>
>>728285553
my problem isn't that there are blacks, it's just that I think the quality has gone way down. I was raised on Dylan and simon and Garfunkel and currently my favorite music is stuff like Holst's "The Planets". It's not unreasonable that I don't like all the techno bs they have done since DD. I've already gone in depth on my opinion on plastic beach, and Humanz is shaping up to be shit, just more "How hard it is to be black, poor me" BS, Daemon fell for the leftist meme, and the tracks still don't use real instruments.

>>
>Andromeda
I legit love this song.
>Saturnz Barz
Really eh. It takes a few listens to get used to? Lyrics are meh. Only part I like is where Damon starts singing "In a mirrored world, are you beside me, all my life?"
>Busted and Blue
Nope. Too slow for me, and lyrics are nonsensical.
>Hallelujah Money
Nope. Only the very, VERY end. Listen to it a few times. It's the sound clip of when SpongeBob cried in this episode
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cpW-RrGmdJ4
>Ascension
Same thing as Saturnz Barz really, takes a few listens to become "meh" only like it for the "Have a bowl, Squidward" scream at 2:16-2:18ish.
So far, this album is really, really bland.
>>
>>728286182
I missed let me out. I like the other 4 better. It's more low key like andromeda. Saturnz Barz, we got the power, and ascension are more over the top. Funny how our opinions are so different. It's not a bad song but feels different to the rest of the album.
>>
>>728278884
I loved Demon Days, Plastic Beach, and The Fall. This made me all the more disappointed every time a new song dropped off this album. Not a single song so far is even close to good.

RIP Gorillaz.

>fell for the leftist meme

You can call Damon a leftist and you can say the album is full of niggers and you would be right. Just don't pretend like this is something new. That is the core of what gorillaz is.

Andromeda > Saturnz Barz > Let Me Out > We Got The Power

The last one is the weakest due to its repetitive lyrics. Let Me Out is alright, but I prefer the style of Andromeda (reminds me of Feel Good Inc) over rap/reggae.

It is debatable whether the Gorillaz were political in the beginning. It's because they always had some weird ass lyrics that could be interpreted as a hell lot of things.
The first song I remember being at least some kind of obviously political was Dirty Harry, as a general anti war themed piece of music. Plastic Beach was a shift into the SJW direction but still had some good stuff on it.
But what I find on YouTube right now is not that Gorillaz I was a fan of. It's a literal and obvious ride on the FUCK-TRUMP-train every mainstream band loves to ride these days.

Seriously, I'm out. Gorillaz lost of the magic that was to them.
>>
>>728278884
From what I've heard so far it's alright. Saturnz Barz is pretty sweet and Andromeda is good. That being said I didn't really like Plastic Beach at the beginning and now it's one of my favourite albums of all time.

>Not a fan of Reggae? They did some amazing work with Spacemonkeyz.

Off studio Album? Probably Latin Simone (¿Qué Pasa Contigo?) with Ibrahim Ferrer. That mans voice was fucking magic. If you haven't yet check out the Bananas DVD with behind the scenes recordings of him in the booth.

If its any song then Starshine (Dub) off Laika Come Home.

That is literally what the album is about and it encapsulates that moment better than any other piece of art I have seen. That's ok though you can just miss out on it and pretend that the same exact thing didn't happen when obama got elected but for a different group of people. Stay close minded.

>>

That intro though. I like Sweepstakes but even in plastic beach it's pretty low. Damn plastic beach is so good.

I lean pretty heavy towards Gorillaz (album) and Plastic Beach. Almost forgot Feel Good Inc. I'm thinking it's just another single, I've heard it enough, but it's a legit good song and the acoustic guitar provides a great contrast.
>>
>>728291472
i love you
>>
>>728292951
M1 A1 just has a great intro. I saw that shitty movie just because of the song. Then the chorus is catchy. It's probably not a great song but it makes me feel like I'm in that Gorillaz buggy going a thousand miles an hour.

Stop the dams is ok. I just like the slow singing/talking from people with interesting voices in gorillaz songs. That's why I like Some kind of Nature. He sings so slow it's almost like he is reading a poem.

I understand and partially agree with the criticism.

13. November Has Come
14. Stop The Dams
15. Crashing Down (alternate version)
16. Punk
17. We are Happy Landfill
18. El Manana (Metronomy Remix)
19. Broken
20. Little Plastic Bags

Surprisingly enough, The Fall had those two tunes that made it top 20.

Imagine Gorillaz dropping a song on the new album that is better than Tomorrow Comes Today.

Listened to them, it isn't as glorious as you make it in terms of fuck trump or in terms of how great their old albums are. I just hope there is less of whatever the hell these songs are on their album

The premise of the album is how people would react during a world ending event (Trump winning). For me it sound very cataclysmic which is cool. The only thing I don't like is that it's just great music with references to the main theme sprinkled throughout. It could be tighter but I get most people don't listen to album so the whole message would be lost on them.

Unfortunately for you the rest of the album is going to be more like these songs just based on the collaborations.

If you don't like Andromeda then there is likely nothing there for you.

God Bless you Anon, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to get a membership to see them, when they announced incoming Gorillaz shit on youtube my jaw dropped

I doubt it. It just came out at the right time. It's like a transition between Blur and Gorillaz. Unless they do a collaboration with Radiohead or someone like that then I don't see it happening. Damon is more focused on collaborations now.

There is always H-Sidez. There might be hope there.

Anyone else liked Damon Albarn's Everyday Robots album?

Mr. Tembo was one of my favorites.

Also, anyone else ever heard the acoustic version of On Melancholy Hill?

>>728296017
fuck yes dude, i absolutely fell in love with that album
I got it after a break-up and didnt stop listening to it for months
my favorites were the selfish giant, hostiles, or everyday robots
>>
>>728296323
yeah i've heard it, they did that song when they did crystalized
>>
>>728296333
The whole damn album is nice to listen to. I bought the CD. Soothed my ache for a new Gorillaz album cause of his voice.

Did you hear the two bonus tracks? Empty Club fuckin reminded me of a break up.
>>
>>728278884
I don't want to listen. It's the devil's music.
There's a 6 in the middle of the album cover...how obvious can it get

I like Stylo, but it has never been a first or second
pick for when I get a Gorillaz fever.
>>
>>728285553
Personally, I think the majority of Demon Days was shit. The D sides that contained the cut songs was ten times better. Plastic Beach was a return to pre-Demon Days, but so far nothing on Humanz is really impressing me.
>>
>>728296640
I did and it was kinda beautiful in my head. I didn't know him too well but he was really involved in ROTC which i was in after dropping computer coding in high school and he was involved in there. Came to school knowing what happened and so did everyone there and they announced over intercom and i blocked it out when heaven happened to be playing
>>
>>728297191
I want that grundgy sound and Damon's voice back.

>>
>>728297191
Andromeda sounds eerily like something out of D sides. We Have the Power sounds like a bonus track. Ascension and Saturnz Barz is a slightly different sound for gorillaz but it follows with their tradition.

Good point about Plastic beach. Plastic beach is more like the first album and Humanz is sounding like Demon Days but taking it to a different level.
>>
the gorillaz have been extremely mediocre since plastic beach. nothing hes put out has been amazing like the hits off the debut album, demon days, or even the 2 remix albums. Hes lost the magic

I actually just recently finally was able to listen to plastic beach without wanting to hurl. Its grown on me, but its still far from being anywhere near as good as their first 2 LPs. The fall will forever be a steaming pile of shit with no redeemable qualities at all.

All that said, from what I've heard so far, theres been 1 really good song, 1 just ok song, and 3 really fucking terrible songs. This albums not shaping up to be very good. I have to agree with everyone else in this thread that the rapping has been dog shit since Del left the group (yet theyre still drawing his fucking character into all the art which is dumb as fuck). Del fucking made gorillaz. Without him, the project never wouldve taken off. And im ok with him leaving, but the rappers theyve gotten to replace him since have all been trash and only get progressively worse and worse each album. These new mumble rappers they got on this album are the lowest of the low geared towards low class piles of shit. Not 1 single real quality rapper on any of this work smfh
>>
>>728281895
You heard it here first
>>
>>728283607
Plastic Beach was their Opus Magnus. Not saying that there won't be any quality work coming from the band anymore, but i believe they have reached their peak and are slowly working down. Time will tell though. Hallelujah Money was pretty fucking bad though
>>
First song was a disaster, way too much autotune bs. Listening to the rest now, but it sounds uninspired like fuck to me. Let me out was almost ok, i guess.

Ye the story is as horrible as i remember
>>
Even the last blur album was mediocre. Damon albarn is a washed up musician. The majority of the last blur album was literally him just recording endless hours of noodling hoping to catch enough to put an album together, and thats exactly what it ended up sounding like. Mediocre garbage with a few cool but forgettable songs. It might just be his ego ruined his musicianship. Anyone that knows his story knows that after gorillaz got big, his ego got overinflated and he kicked the guitarist out of blur then recorded what would become blurs worst album to date (most hated by all fans, critics, and a commercial failure).

Or maybe hes just put out so much material that he has nothing left in him. Either way, I feel like he could do better or could do better if teamed up with Dan the Automator again or any decent producer

>>728298095
lol youre fucking high. gsides was the beginning of the wind down. Plastic beach was a collection of mediocre works
>>
>>728298299
if he's high you must be fucking on molly or power or something, Damon has made wonderful fucking music even if you don't appreciate the newer gorillaz works he has made at least 2 solo albums and had a lot of input with bobby womack's last album which was a fucking masterpeice
>>
>>728298299
>noodling

I'll noodle Noodle, if you get what I'm saying.

upper end millenials that started listening to gorillaz since the beginning: 'everything after demon days sucks

i dunno about 2 solo albums, but the blur albums hes made post gorillaz have been Blurs worst works. And his gorillaz music has been ranging from ok to literally unlistenable. i used to worship the guy in the 90s. all his new music just sounds like someone thats washed up imo. kinda like new nine inch nails. trents done some cool soundtrack work, but i dont think theres a single person that can honestly say his new albums are good
