Metal (most subgenres in that)
Korean/Japanese Pop &/ Rock
Post-hardcore
Ska
Most Punk (post, pop, hardcore, folk, etc.)
Hip-Hop
Some Pop
General music from 40s-80s (Disco, Jazz, Swing, Rock-N-Roll, Soul, Blues, Dance, Folk, etc.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjJPuQMSfkw
Recently, Perturbator
Touhou vocal electro-pop, primary example probably Alstroemeria
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAGg6M8RnU0
After that, I would say electro/house especially progressive house and french touch with a particular emphasis on orchestral aka I am a Hybrid fan, avant-garde/mathcore metal especially "djent" (Messhugah, SikTh, Gru, Vildhjarta), trap with a focus on self-aggrandizing lyrics and cheap beats (Speaker Knockerz is a good example) select 60's-80's rock music which has "good style" (for instance, The Beatles, Yes, other standouts), also some VGM but mostly for nostalgia.
I used to like dubstep and gangsta rap. I abandoned dubstep because it was a one trick pony going nowhere fast. I abandoned gangsta rap because my father was murdered by a black 17 year old moron leading a home invasion crew, you don't even have to ask me where a 17 year old got the idea he needed to rob for money and kill without reason, I already know. I don't know what to about it without creating laws that Christian conseratives would use to censor everything besides being bored and not touching yourself but I know that's what caused it. Don't even try to lie to me because I've heard every lyric you have.

Gotta hit the sack kids. Happy listening.

Sticky fingers anyone?
Back in younger times I'd be into Rock n "Metal" (wtf is Metal anymore?)
Now Im taken in by Soundtracks to vidya, such as Civ Beyond Earth, Assassins Creed series, (esp 2 and Revelations). Old Frank Klepacki from original C&C is worth a mention.
You could call me a faggot but OP did ask.
>>726681808
I think Assassin Creed is a shit game, but the soundtrack is actually really dope tbh
>>726672934
in general or right now?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkAb_l8S4Ug
>>726681991
The game was good, if you let youself be sucked into the story.
1 was shit (new and experimental), but took on new relevance once you finished revelations.
Everything after 3 doesn't count. The world was saved, the story concluded, and it all became a cash cow.
The music, as we agree, was great.
>>726682342
Oh wow, someone with an opinion on AC that DOESN'T SUCK. (Not being sarcastic btw.)
I feel like the story was meh, but some parts they had some really good ideas.
And I agree, after 3, it's basically CoD at this point.
As good as the soundtracks are, my favorite game soundtracks are mostly JRPG's. (LoZ, Golden Sun, any FF, Chrono Trigger, etc.)
>>726682539
I guess the historical basis garnered extra interest out of me. My Mum was a high school history teacher, and as such, we had mayber 20 linear metres of history textbooks on the shelves. We had no internet, and 2 channels on tv, and lived in a rural area...so you can see what I did when it was raining.
...yes, I fapped too.
Also having been raised in a Catholic school, I love a little catholic bashing in a storyline (2 and brotherhood).

Such an epic melody, given to such a horseshit level in a halfway decent game. As an aside, Manami Matsumae is a brilliant composer, ducktales nonwithstanding.
