I can't help but think you guys just buy shitty beer. Shelve out that extra dollar or two and buy craft beer. Yes, beers can be made in a wide variety of ways.
IPAs and other "hoppy" beer are garbage, they have an overwhelming bitterness that destroys any flavour that the beer could have had. Shitty hipster craft breweries make these because they're too retarded to not fuck up any real beer they try to brew.
Lagers are the generic beer that you usually see, they mostly taste the same. They're the more "acquired taste" kind of beer, hard to get into without social pressure.
Then there's the spectrum of ales, from blonde to dark. These are the good tasting beers. I found lots of people who say they don't really like beer will be able to enjoy a cream ale or a blueberry ale.
I hope this helps anyone here who is actually just interested in beer and isn't trolling/feeding the trolls.

I drink coffee that's cold brew, that stuff comes out concentrated and low acid, and you can use water or milk to reconstitute it. I use milk and the coffee comes out really creamy tasting, and add a little sugar and you have a tasty drink that has a lot of flavors going on. I highly recommend cold brew coffee for people that don't normally drink coffee.

I don't know about most of you guys, but here in france we have some good ones : grimbergen are nice and not too bitter (the peach one is especially drinkable and sweet, I always go for it when I just want something refreshing while still having that beer flavor) but there's also edelweiss (white beer), skoll and desperado from time to time.
I also get my hands on some nice german beers and a local brewery make a really nice triple beer, quite strong and really good.

Seriously OP, don't be a moron and recognize that a large majority of people genuinely like beer for what it is, when they can have some good one (bud light and 1664 are not good beers).

I personally like it, I am not much affected by social incentives (or whatever you call that), and I first tasted beer alone when I was 15, on my own initiative, and up to these days, If I don't want to drink something, I won't force myself just to "look good" to anyone else.

They sell these little yeast cakes for making rice wine, at any asian food store. They look like 'nilla wafers, but you grind 'em up and sprinkle them on cooked white rice.

Then it molds, ferments, and bam - sweet sake rice wine. But don't take my word for it, ask someone at an asian market, seriously. They will tell you the recipe (which is what I said).

Rice is cheap as hell. So are those little yeast/mold cookies. Shit is pretty cash.

You forget why IPA exists. The hops were added to ensure it kept on the sea journey from the UK to the Raj in India, so the Colonials had a decent beer to drink. Hence it needs the hops and the bitterness.
