YOU' RE NEVER TOO OLD TO SKATE NOW GO OUT AND SHRED
YOU 'RE NEVER TOO FAT TO SKATE NOW GO OUT AND SHRED
skatepark etiquette: go early or go burly
>called an impossible
>it's actually possible and easy
I dont think this semen slurping "sport" is for me, lads.
I am willing to bet money that is from somewhere in the eastern Black Sea, either Kazakhstan or Armenia, this is fucking radical eitherway, you guys rule and please keep producing more Kazakh skateboarding videos!
I haven't skated since I was a kid and now I'm 18. I'm planning on joining the Coast Guard and trying to get stationed in California and learning to skate again. Do any of you guys know who Danny Duncan is? His videos made me want to skate again.
Yes, especially at higher speeds, gives me more room to stand. I felt that the 7.75 was just too thin when I was trying to go faster and kind of didn't provide enough room for me. It's all preference though, you can always stand on a board at a skate shop, or try someone else's
Bros im looking for a part I saw years ago when I started skating (like 4 or 5 years ago)
Maybe you can help, it had "she's like a rainbow" playing at the background and was some kind of b&w shit, don't know why I remember mistery or fallen and maybe Chris Cole
don't think so since I never had a tape from mullen and the one I remember must've been of 2007~10
nevermind I'll have to check the tapes I still have individually this weekend
Spitfire classics, reds bearings, independent trucks, all going for $100 from my local skate shop, I used to ride a bit when I was like 12-13 but I'm 18 now and I can't be scootering around everywhere anymore since I switched to that after originally skateboarding. Another note, I found this deck on my way home one day with nothing on it.
I believe skateboarding itself is quite impressive however as a culture I think it is absolutely disgusting.
So /asp/, I'm putting together my first skateboard and I'm wondering
Did I put the hardware in to a good enough level? Not too tight or too loose?
From the other side of the same end
Actually I only put on the front truck and I'm doing the second right now
I was Actually kind of afraid of that, so I wanted to make sure I wasn't fucking up before I tightened the other 4 screws
yea dude, he literally launched over out of the bowl and did a bs 360 kickflip melon grab, if that's the proper name. Anyway it was insane dude, the whole park was clapping, that dude has knees of steel.
Just did my back truck and my very first board is now finished
Time to learn how to shred
And here's how the tail's hardware looks
Praying for a dry day in the UK tomorrow.
>a bs 360 kickflip melon grab
Guy Mariano is on Nike. Nike acquires another "asset". Reading any Slap, /esg/? Someone in there said that Nike is aiming to monopolise the shoe game (the big money is in there) and leaving all the actual skateboard brands to produce hard goods (i.e. decks, trucks etc.). I will add, until Nike can make specil agreements with those companies - all skateboard companies. Will you let it happen /esg/?
song related, dedicated to Nike.
don't give up m8. It took me 7 years to get sponsored the first time. Then that company went bankrupt a year later and I've only been recently sponsored again. (about 11 years after I started).
Just go out there and have some fun. Take part in contests, talk to people at skateparks or spots. Be out there and just skate.
seriously why do anyone skate shoes that arent vans
These are probably what I'm gonna be skating in today, and this is what I wear to work
They're okay, the elastic that helps your feet fit in rips easily
>tfw I just built my board and was hyped to go out and skate
>can't skate outside anymore
>too scared to go to an indoor skatepark without even being good at riding yet
Supreme is part of the Fuccboi starter pack.
A hat or two is okay, but a entire wardrobe of over priced clothing is just stupid.
Anyone have this problem where you really want to go and skate outside but you get too shy and nervous? I get so nervous to go out and skate that I start feeling sick and my board control plummets. I'm so retarded senpaitachi... pls help
>yfw that's the reason I chose that deck
Dylan Rieder came out with slip on shoe that resemble his Gravis shoe.
I actually like it.
Does anybody else get "withdraws" from not skating?
I'm not talking about some "hurr skating is life, i get sad if I don't skate" type of deal either.
I usually skate every day, and if I'm not skating that day I'll at least go for a walk or jog. Sometimes though I'll fall too much and be too sore to do anything the next day except sit around.
The problem is when I just sit around all day it, around night time I'll feel like I stood up too quick, but this'll last for hours.
I'll be light headed the whole time, spaced out when it peaks for about 10 minutes, and just feel like shit. It's almost like greening out on weed, but I don't smoke and I'll be sober when it happens, and I'm usually sober most of the time.
I think it's just from being super active all the time she then suddenly doing nothing but sit on my ass all day, plus my body is healing too but I wanted to see if anybody else has the same thing?
TL;DR anybody else feel physically fucked up when they don't skate?
Because vans are shit quality and only sell because they have the elitist old school vert appeal, and look cool to non skaters. I don't know if they use to be good quality in the 80's but now they're flimsy pieces of shit.
who else here loves skating pools/bowls?
>around night time I'll feel like I stood up too quick, but this'll last for hours.
>I'll be light headed the whole time, spaced out when it peaks for about 10 minutes, and just feel like shit. It's almost like greening out on weed, but I don't smoke and I'll be sober when it happens, and I'm usually sober most of the time.
can't pinpoint it exactly, are you an anxious person like me, do you have anxiety over the future?
This is the only footage I have of my skateboarding days several years back... was pretty fucking chuffed with this though hahaha. Still got a board but I only jump on it once or twice a year now.
>>A part usually refers to a full video part, whether it's a opener or ender.
well what does that mean? is it meant to get the skater sponsorship? is it just a compilation of tricks? can more people be featured in a "part"? google wont tell me much about this
>tried to learn to skate as a 12 year old
>couldn't even get an ollie down right
>gave up, haven't touched it yet
I want to fucking die, tbqh. I'm 23 now, I still think skating is cool as fuck but I could never get a fucking ollie down and it's probably too damn late now.
If it's too late for you then what the hell am I?
I'm 29 and started last summer by just riding around and this summer landed my first flip tricks. Kickflip, Heelflip and varial flip.
Just do it faggot
Awesome man, I'm 31 and just started this summer. Never really had any expectations of learning flip tricks, just enjoying cruising around and rolling off curbs so far, but that's some great inspiration.
The trick is in actually jumping. The board doesnt magically take you into the skies. Do everything everyone always says and put some backbone and dedication into it. Took me a long ass tile to get it.
I used to get really bad "panic attacks" (undiagnosed and it was from doing bad drugs so it might have actually been hysteria). I wouldn't say I'm anxious but I am really hyper 90%of the time, and have to be doing something otherwise Im uncomfortable. I do sometimes get nervous about dying and shit though, but I think that's normal.
>it might have actually been hysteria
I don't think hysteria manifests itself as panic attacks. Yes, I know what you are referring to. Must be some form of flashbacks/psychedelia. Could be worse if you ask me.
A part just means a certain skaters spot in a skate video.
It's the same as saying "that part with Michael Cera in 'This is the End,' except the skaters usually only involves them and nobody else for a few minutes.
Dumb faggots completely misused the term though and will use it to mean any skate video by a skater with music behind it.
desu I'm scared of slipping out bc everytime I've tried to pop I lose my balance and fall
lately I've been getting better at tail dragging and doing big kickturns so im gonna take another shot at ollie ing
i've been practicing getting kickflips down and front foot landed in the worst way possible last week. doctor said he didn't see any break in the xray but its a really bad sprain. feels like its gonna be another week til I can walk on it. probably going to be lowkey scared to kickflip now.
tactics 20% off sale, fuckers.
got me some extra trucks and shit. lol, i'm gonna have four different setups going. 7.75 and 8 for parks and two 8.5" for cruising (one rainy day).
now if only the snow would melt some more....
>practice kickflips at home
>someone pretty much punches the door "knocking"
>it's the next door neighbour and he's mad
>what's that noise?? i've heard it every evening lately
>oh... sorry for that i'll stop
>but what's the noise ???
>don't worry you won't hear it again
>BUT WHAT IS IT?
>have a good day :)
i guess no more in-doors skating for me
8.25 is the size for a grown man IMO. Skate nothing but that. I remember in middle school skating 7.5 and feeling it was too small but thought it was the size your suppose to use for street.
What brand of shoes have a similar colorway to this so I don't have to buy Nike SBs
Also related somewhat, anyone have thoughts?
Also does anyone know if these are still around? I used to have them when I was like 13-14 something like that, I loved them pls someone at least an opinion or a lead to where I could find them
Hey guys where can I find a pair of these? Preferably the full brown or earthy two tone like this?
non skater here passing through, you guys have one of the best communities ive seen on this chan, good job.
Also, I didnt know DC shoes were actual shoes skaters wore. I just thought they were slippers for people who didnt like to tie their shoes more than once.
Anyone else love early 90's skateboarding for how much of a transitional phase it was? You had the style of the 80's blended up with the technicality of what came later.
Also football shaped skateboards.
considering it took me 3 months to get down a shitty version of ollie that only works sometimes, how long do i need to keep going to reach this level?
What's the name of this trick I can do?
It involves a 360 kickflip, but my body rotates 180 degrees in the opposite direction and I land 'fakie'
Cherry by Supreme
Debris by Pete Spooner and Philip Schwartz(Debri2 is ok, but not as good imo)
I CAN SEE YOUR SOCKS and It's a Secret by Diego Meek
EXETER, Worship Friendship, and Boyish by Jackson Casey
All of the lurknyc full lengths on YouTube (strangers and LOONY BIN are my favorites)
The Bronze56k videos, they are sort of a vaporwave~y aesthetic, lots of new york skaters. Solo Jazz is my favorite.
yeah that's exactly it cheers brah
i haven't skated for about 10 years now
Was Wes Kremer last year's winner? Marianno definitely CAN'T be in anymore. Greyson Fletcher jsut turned pro and already a skater of the year? fuckooooooof. I want to give it to Raybourn but fuck awards in general.
Dee Ostrander skater of the year.
Erick Winkowski skater of the decade.
I NEED A NEW FUCKING SKATEBOARD GOD FUCKING DAMN IT SHIT CUNT THE VIRGIN MARY SATAN LORD
Can someone give me tips for FS pop shuvits, I can't even fucking fathom the technique behind it. The issue for me is the board always goes behind and to the left of me, it is kind of thrown over there. I can't really get the correct scoop I think. Thanks.
Alright tell me what do I do wrong
>take bearings out
>they're dirty and they barely move (if they do)
>wash them with cold water, warm water and soap
>soak them a bit in citrus based cleaner
>dry them for a while with a blow dryer
>they all spin great
>add speed lube from reds
>spin them a bit to spread the lube
>wipe off the lube to make sure they won't get dirty
>put them back in the wheels
>everything works great
> wheels spin for long periods of time
>all is good
>go to sleep
>in the morning half of them barely spin anymore and make weird noises
WHY? happened to me twice. what do i fuck up
Yeah, I have some new ones, but I don't want to just switch them every time I go through a puddle at night by mistake. Surely there's something in my process that causes this..
Is there a popular forum/community for skateboarding? I just go to /esg/ but some of the gear questions here go unanswered
Yeah, I did watch this guy and what I did is what I thought to be a simplified version of his very "optimised" way of doing it, but I guess I do something wrong.
I'll try again later with slightly different methods for each bearing and not put them in the wheel and test them out in the morning to see which works
I ride goofy. What is front side/backside. I get that when you're actually spinning like for an ollie 180 you spin with you're ass forward for backside. For a backside shuvit though???
This video explains all the ollie 180's, since im too lazy to type it all. If you kick back, it's a backside shuv-it, also known as just the "the shuv-it" a frontside pop shuv you kick in front of you, if that makes any sense?
>people are surprised when the culture is associated with edgy homosexuals
How do people do that thing where they hop off the skateboard and the board jumps into their hand? Something with taking your front foot off board first and then the back foot popping the board, but I don't know how to do it.. Is there a name for this? Can't find anything on youtube
obviously from what you stated, you washed the bearings with water first, while in the video, it says you need to use the cleaner first and then wash them in hot water. I don't know if you have figured that out yet, just in case...
I have been running my Bones Reds dry and w/o shields for the past few years. They are nice and loud, spin for a while and perform great while skating. If diets gets into the bearing, it falls out in a little bit.
>19 year old with skating father
That isn't me lol, although that would be great. My parents don't really give a fuck about skating. I'm also a year younger than the guy that you're thinking of.
Loony Bin is dope though. NYC skating in general seems like something totally different from the rest of skateboarding.
>when switch nollie was in the PsOne game Grind Session
Does anyone know if this would be a good starter camera for filming skaters?
It looks like it's fast enough to be able to keep up with tricks and shit.
some friends and i from oklahoma made a video of us skating parks in our area
its our first video, shit tier filming & editing
i think we sorta killed it though all bullshit aside
>skating again for the first time in like ten years
>was ollying gaps yesterday
feels breddy gud
