I'm just getting into airsoft, and I swung by my local store to look into purchasing my first rifle.

Because many of you recommended it, the CYMA cm040c was the first I checked out, and I love the feel of it. The guys at the store recommended it over some of the slightly more expensive AK's there as well.

That being said, I'm becoming more and more attracted to an ACR/Masada. The cheapest one they sell there is pic related, the A&K.

It's about $385 Canadian, compared to the CYMA at around $300 Canadian.


For the price, should I just stick to the Cyma? Also take into account the price for rails for the thing, and if it would be worth it to buy something like a Masada with picatinny's already installed.

If I recall, the A&K Masada is pretty garbo and the licensed Magpul model is a bit better while also costing like $100 USD more.
I'd just say stick with the AK. While they're not E&L or LCT levels of finishing, the newer model CYMA AKs are damn good for the price and their VFC styled receivers set them apart from the older Marui based guns from companies like G&G and JG.

SR-25s use the V2L gearbox, a longer version of the V2 GB and broader, proprietary mags. Afaik the only decent ones which are not GBBRs are from ARES and/or King Arms. If you get an ARES one, be sure to buy their upgraded EFCS unit (the blue one).

I got an A&K Masada and deeply regret it. The Magpul one is the only Masada you should consider, pretty standard inside but with quick change spring. My A&K motor burned out early and the gearbox is a pita, even after I serviced it and got it together again I had to deal with the way the selector switch goes into the gearbox. Just mechanically unreliable imo and makes putting it together a game of luck if it goes JUST right.

Not really no. It cuts down on the kiddies using stubby m4s and box mags as """SAWs""" and the autismos with a long barreled m4 trying to get more fps. The point of it is that dmrs and actual lmgs and gpmgs are often heavier and bulkier so if exchange for less maneuverability you get increased fps or full auto. It's more about balance than larping.

This is how it used to be here, but a lot of surplus stores ran out of ALICE rigs and M81 and 6/3 color BDUs like five years ago, and have instead been stocking FLC chest rigs and OCP/UCP BDUs.
I say you'd be fine as long as you don't look scrub AF with like a mishmash of a surplus store's stock and an M4A1.

Actually to be fair, when I go on the field I don't use a lot of stuff at once, but I have four chest rigs sitting in my closet at home because I use different ones for different loadouts.
