Speedsofters use so people have a grudge against the product for it.
That said, the mask is uncomfortable to use and I see why Speedsofters use it as it gives great protection against being hosed, doesn't limit your view and speedsofters don't really aim down any sight.

I have a friend who likes all the neat things about airsoft and wears a dye i4. He constantly shits on people who use irons or optics and then wonders why he's not hitting shit since he doesn't even practice enough with it to know around where its going to hit. I had to explain to him how a hop up works since he thought his gun was broken. He's sincerely a good person though.

I asked about this in the previous thread, but only got one response before the thread died.

Are these any good? Being licensed and endorsed by a Youtuber is somewhat of a red flag to me, but I'm just getting into airsoft and want to know what some of the best options are for rifles.

I know it's not best to start with something like this as my first airsoft rifle, but I've always been a marksman, it's what interests me, so any other recommendations for long rifles like this are welcome!

I just wanna know if anyone here's gotten their hands on one, and what they think of it.

Sniper rifles are a pipe dream and are horrible options for beginners since you'll be constantly out ranged by AEGs. A great example of this is in Milsim West, where snipers aren't these lone l33t warriors picking off guys from a distance, but are used instead as recon assets for command since this is bbwars and an M4 with a tightbore and flat hop can reach out as much as a decently built M24.

Could you give me a recommendation for a good AEG? I prefer AK's over anything else, but I'm very open as long as it accepts picatinny's and is durable.

Get an SVD or an M14 if you want a "marksman" kind of gun since those have AEG forms with semi auto functionality.

I'm really liking the CM040c from what I'm seeing, anything else you'd recommend picking up with that?

I'll check the airsoft stores in my city (Montreal, Canada), not sure if it's the kinda thing they'd carry.

Perfect, and how easily do they accept rail systems and stuff like that? I'd like to get my hands on one soon so I can get a feel for it.

There's a couple of options out there.
You can get a rail mount that fits a standard AK side rail like in the picture, you can get a railed gas tube like http://www.evike.com/products/30963/, and recently a whole slew of Zenitco knockoffs have come to market.

Here's an example of some Zenitco'd out AK-74Ms. They're the big hot meme right now with slavsofters since it's what a lot of the more elite groups of Russia's divisions and ministries use.
