So i just bought a tokyo marui g17 and an rwa angency arms legacy alide kit. Did i just fuck up? I wanted a nice pistol with a nice kit with no problems but it seems like regardless of manafacturer no kits are a simple drop in fit. I was watching videos and guys were saying you need to level the frame, change this change that, sand the hammer etc.

The frames are actually better than stock, and as far as I hear they're better than the gunsmodify frames too. Only reason I ask is someties you need to shim the front chassis but I've only ever done it on Guarder frames. As for other guarder parts...honestly I would only touch the frames and extended mag release. Their hammer chassis causes problems and needs a ton of filing on the rails and rotor, their slides need to be almost completely grinded wider to fit without snagging on anything. Everything else simply doesn't fit.

You should fill the frame gap around the front post with jb weld no matter which frame you use, it'll make it last longer.

Pretty good deal, I bought mine brand new for $330 and had to spend like $60 a pop for mags.

You'll grow to love it but be warned, it's a WE-Tech. Mine lasted about a year before it finally kicked the bucket, this whole chunk just absolutely disintegrated from the recoil. It can be replaced though, I'll get to it eventually.

Yeah, better recoil spring is necessary for cycling. Stay away from guarder's spring guide, but if you can get just the spring and replace the one on the stock guide then that'll be good. Avoid any spring guides that use screws on the tip. Gunsmodify has some good stuff.

Other than that...maybe a lightweight bbu, RTS is good and light - made of 7075 and has a mod that reduces any rotor issues and improves cycling. Keep the stock nozzle till it bursts then go with either the MAC or maybe an aluminum one.

Depending on your climate you may want to grab a gunsmodify hammer spring too. When time comes to replace worn hammer chassis stuff go with the UAC steel stuff.

I feel like I'm forgetting stuff. Oh well. Post your build when it's all done

I've wanted to get some decent airsoft gear for a while, though I haven't played in ages and I have zero knowledge of what brands are popular in the community.

If anyone could recommend a decent rifle and side arm, as well as anything else I might need to know, that'd be awesome. There are a few airsoft stores in my city, but online is definitely an option for me.

As far as budget goes, I don't want something completely entry level, but I need to save money for clothing and other gear. Anything in the 200-300 dollar range works

KJW or WE is the go to unless you want to drop some dosh on a Marui and a new slide. The numbers indicate the barrel length, 5.1 or 4.3 inches, and it really boils down to what you like.

The mags are pretty solid, though. It all starts to fall apart when there's motion. I guess mags would shit the bed if I dropped them, too, but so far most of them last a good decade. Anything else is like straight out of a video game with durability mechanics, you repair it and it starts to fall apart a couple of mags later.

If it's a pistol or gas rifle, you can rack the slide/bolt, tilt the gun, and shake it like you would clear a stovepipe. The BB should just fall back out the chamber into the magwell.

Most of the time you replace O rings on pistols, sometimes nozzles and float valves, sometimes depending on the make entire slides and or frames. They don't take mud well. Eight months.

I told myself in December I'd buy myself a nice gun, and I'd settled on an HPA-dropped SVD. Due to mistakes both on my part and the supplier's, it took eight fucking months for me to put a single round through this gun after I bought it.

Scattergunfag here. Its rainy today so I'll have to wait until its nice out for a range/accuracy test, but I found that the gas well gives you about 100-120 shots, so that's either 360 or 720 bbs per well. Changing out wells doesn't take much time at all, but I'm gonna order another well to give me plenty of gas. The wells also refill in a second or two.

I did all the sanding by hand. I had the option to do it with a mouse sander but I find something cathartic in taking my time and hanging out in the garage with my old man while listening to Modest Mouse while we work on our projects. It was nice, not only for the end result but because I got to spend time with my family. Overall I'd say it took about 6 days of sanding, and 3 days of staining+clearcoating (but that took so long just because I gave each coat 24h to dry.) I applied one thick layer of stain with a brush, then another with a paper towel after the first soak dried, then a thick layer of clearcoat which I very gently sanded after it dried, and a last, very thin finishing coat.

I'm using Matrix midcaps, which are 80 rounds.

Honestly? No. The first time I sent the gun back it took two months for me to see it again, and that's after I had a very angry conversation with a guy who probably didn't deserve it. I had to pester them back and forth for updates, and my phone has 23 calls to them and ONE call from them ever since February when I started getting annoyed. That being said, once I started getting some communication out of them they were very helpful, and since they held on to my gun for so long they upgraded me from a Gen 1 to a Gen 2 Hydra unit along with a couple other extra free bits to make up for my wait. P90s have have a design flaw where the cut-off lever breaks or wears out very fast so it's not very suitable for semi only play. Retro Arms did make replacement parts which are assumably better, but I can't really say for sure.

Today was nicer out, so I decided to test the range/accuracy of the JAG scattergun. I used .28s and propane. I can say that all rounds, even in the 6 shot version, can reach up to 150 feet. In the 3 shot mode they all go past 150 feet. As for accuracy its mixed. The bottom barrel shots drop off first and the two top barrels travel further and curve up. You'll hit a man sized target at 150 feet but you wont be winning any awards. You're looking at groupings measured in the feet past 150. That being said, for a gun that shoots multiple rounds at a time it does well and I'd wager that slamfiring it in 3 or 6 round mode would allow you to spray down a large enough area to hit a group of people at medium to close range.

Krytac advertises it at 350fps which is plenty for smaller fields or CQB like it was intended. Even if the angles at the cylinder head reduce the pressure, you can just swap the spring to M150 if you so wish because all the important parts are literally the same as in your everyday M4 or AK.
