Guys what the fuck is wrong with me. I cant do some basic flip tricks, yet I can do the advanced shit? I cant kickflip, heelflip, nollie flip, or nollie heel at all. Yet I can do hardflips, 360 hardflips, laserflips,varial flips, double varial flips, treflips, 540 lasers, etc. in any stance, yet I cant do a regular, generic kickflip/heelflip in any stance?

as a viewer i like the look and feel of it. i suppose it's like those who prefer film over digital, although it doesn't matter to me what's used as long as it's 'done right'. the vx is also known for it's ability to capture audio in a particular way that works for skateboarding

the only benefit i can see with shooting vx is with long lens shots. with dslrs for example, it's hard to find a zoom lens that can maintain focus and exposure at an affordable price. also most dslr lenses aren't design for video, so the smooth zooming is hard to do. the other option is a camcorder, but those are quite pricey compared to a dslrs. aside from that i'd imagine it's a pain to deal with tapes when using the vx

Trying to find some wheels that i can use in a pool but won't get me left behind when riding with my friends that all have cruisers. I've been riding 53 bones og 100s and could not keep up with them. Was thinking of getting some bones spf so i could use them as a good all around wheel. Any thoughts or suggestions?

It's cheap because the cameras are ~£200-300 on ebay, the spare parts cost a couple of quid each, you can do all of the repairs yourelf thanks to the simple design. There's a reason broke skate kids started using VX1000s in the 90s and many of those reasons still apply today. I have a VX1000 that I bought for £100 broken and have fixed it up by buying like 2 ribbon cables for £5 each. Show me a modern camera that I can do that with?

how is it that people can 360 flip but not heelflip? I 've heard it more often than not by skaters who have been skating longer and better than me, that they can't heelflip. Granted I have been trying them for over a year, but it never fails to amaze me. It's the most consistent flip trick I 've got (not that I do many flip tricks).

I've owned many hook-ups / JK Industries decks to actually skate and I love them. Since they're both pricey and cool looking, I just skate them with rails till they start to snap / become completely fucked and then take the rails off and keep the graphic if it's salvagable. Everyone has a skillset, just depends if vert is for you nignog.

How the FUCK do I learn how to skate?? I started at 22 and I'm 24 and I'm still absolute SHIT. Like I can do the tricks physically. I can kickflip and what not, but I don't have anythign on lock because I can't skate. Like my balance during tricks is a nightmare, my weight distribution is always off with too much weight on the popping foot, my timing is always shit, my psychology is always pessimistic. Cruising is fine, but tricks are always ugly

What do I do bros? I just wanna be able to skate flatground without looking like a faggot. Is it enough to practice tricks every day for an hour and I will just get better? I don't practice tricks all that often, that's true, but whenever I do even pop shuv-its are landed sketchy.

Trucks are the right size because they're the Royals I bought in 2005 when I was 13 and have had since (I stopped in 2006 after a leg break and started again last year).

Has anyone else here ever dislocated their kneecap? I had dislocated mine a few years ago before i got back into skating and recently dislocated it again doing a fakie pivot. I am working on finding a place to get an mri and i was just wondering if there is anything i can do at home to potentially get me skating again

Those wheels should be fine. When they wear down enough to get new wheels, get spitfire formula fours because around that time you will want to be learning powerslides.

I personally disregard bearing maintenance all together, I never clean or lube them and use no shields. Multiple sets of Reds have lasted me longer than a year doing this and my Swiss are at about a year and holding up even better.

Bearing removal can be done by using the truck axle to pry the bearings out (just be careful). Installation can be done by pushing the wheel onto the bearing on the axle of the truck. These methods can damage bearings as you are pushing on the inside ring of the bearing and not the outside, but I've been doing this for years and never damaged a bearing.

Wax is not necessary. It's nice, but the stuff marketed as "skate" wax is expensive considering that you can get just about the same results with a candle or gulf wax.
