Clear grip is the worst grip imo. It makes the image beneath look terrible anyway, better aesthetics to not grip the area. A little bit of no grip doesn't matter greatly anyway. As long as it isn't directly where you stand, partially is fine.

On an unrelated note. I just got back from a session. I got flips and heelflips at the point where I can "land" them but my feet are always super close to eachother and you can guess what happens then.

you obviously have to keep your feet further apart. Don't focus on the pop. You got it. Now it's the front foot's turn. The front foot gives direction, height and revolution.

Be parralel to the board. Flick it sideways. It's like relearning to ollie, because after all flip tricks are ollie tricks.

And get your front foot out of the way, don't push the board away, push your front foot away. And be sure to be warmed up/ amped up, because if you are ambivalent of your ankles and whether they can hold the jump, you 'll chicken out.

Aww man acid skating is an incredible experience, I remember cruising down a not too steep road and becoming one with the board, like I was just a blob of momentum and everything else was just zooming behind me leaving light trails reminiscent of long exposure photography, that said, I really had no concept of danger or obstacles that may have been ahead of me.
Incredible experience but stupid dangerous, do not recommend.
Skating in traffic is pretty risky, many drivers are genuine fucking retardo. I've bombed hills at speed and had drivers tailing behind less than a metre honking their horn thinking they're funny cunts.Skate main roads at 3am and you're fine.

i went to the park and there was a fucking 8 year old spanish kid carving the whole fucking thing up at a moderate pace while 18-20 somethings were trying to overcome the fear of dropping in on the big side of one of the pools.

plus there's the fact that no one can really guess your age between 20-30 anyway. most skaters end up looking about 20 all the way up until their 40's. just go. and have fun.

25 isn't too old, I've seen a few guys ranging from 35-45 skating at parks before. Some are returning to it and some are just getting started but brave it out, 25 is nothing. If you can go in the weekdays when the kids are at school then there's nothing to worry about. Most skaters know how hard skating is and aren't going to say bad shit about you because you're learning, and even if they do just ignore them and keep at it.

just find some smooth ground man. i'm 21 and felt a little bit anxious about trying to skate around the scooter kids but finding a nice smooth car park was the best thing to do. learning how to push and turn and just feel comfortable on your board is the best thing to do before going to a skate park.

How tight should my wheels be? My friends have them so they spin freely and can wobble a bit but I hate how their board sounds like a ton of different pieces and rattles like crazy. I have mine pretty tight to the point where they don't spin much by hand but still feel fine when you're moving and my board sounds like one piece but I don't know if that's bad or not.

I've had 2 pairs of tensors.
I snapped one of baseplates from the first set ollieing a step set. Literally just disintegrated underneath me and I slammed hard.
The second set I used for about 4 months before switching to a set of destructos.
No regrets.
I did enjoy using them for flatground stuff and I learnt a lot of stuff with them thanks to the lightness but after what happened to the first pair I just didn't trust them for anything heavy.
