G&G AK5 (GF85) will accept the old style (GF76) handguards with no problem. No tinkering required.

G&G GK5C won't accept the old model handguards. Even though the dimensions are the same and the ring on the receiver side is same, the front end lacks the part attached to the barrel (pic related) which keeps the handguards together. You're going to need to make that part by yourself or get it from G&G part maintenance directly from taiwan.
There might be some other minor things as well but that is the greatest issue.


The GK5D model wont accept the old model handguards at all without heavy modding, because it's barrel itself is shorter and it also lacks the part previously mentioned.

Bought extra gearbox, hop up unit and the scope mount from that place years ago and noticed they actually sell other parts too (including handguards)
The guy orders parts from the G&G maintenance service. They come from taiwan which means it takes some time but by far it's the best option, unless you want to contact G&G directly.
Never tried that, but I've understood that you just throw mail to them, tell what parts you need (part numbers from the link related http://www.guay2.com/web/drawings/GK5/GF76_L_EXPLODE.pdf ) and they send you paypal link or someshit and then you wait.

I got a Ares Vz. 58 and a WE SVD I found somehow. I don't like the SVD because they are 20 round, gas hogging, heavy as fuck mags and a mag is like $60 each.
But hey, random box was random.

Some NVA camo and Brit DPM because why the fuck not. Just got a lot of the Belgian stuff in recently, with a flakvest and some mag pouches coming soon as well. Still need a beret, a proper face cover, and a proper rig to use.

I need something in case of HPA bans so I can't use mai raifu. I'll give you my experience with LCT, sadly it's not as good as others. For a reason I couldn't figure out, the inner barrel on my LCT AMD-65 wouldn't sit properly or would move, causing BB's to glance off of the edge of the flashhider closer to the barrel. And that made it incredibly unreliable. Another thing I found annoying about the AMD, I'm not sure if other LCT models have this problem, but I've have AK's from three other companies all of which the top covers snapped onto fairly easily. On my LCT it was a fucking cunt, all the time. Getting it lined up properly to snap on was frustrating as hell.

I do have to applaud them on their external quality, and I think the good reviews outweigh my one bad, but it's something to keep an eye on. It might only be an issue with the AMD model.

But seriously, think of it like a refined MAC 11. The mag release and fire selector are in a good place and are easily reachable with both hands, and they "point" nicely. Just keep in mind that every MP7 except VFC's is under scaled; it's a long story but pretty much Tokyo Marui used the images of the production MP7, but only the dimensions for the prototype were available, and that model was missing the flash hider.
This means you can either get a non 1:1 model like a KWA and get decent aftermarket support for things like holsters, mag pouches, etc, or you can get the VFC for the 1:1 succ but lose out on some of the preexisting aftermarket.
