Defender 2 and other 'heavy' armor types are used because that's how Russia equips their troops.

other Spetsnaz groups are starting to use lighter armor with more traditional, non segmented plates or titanium plating, but that's just a shift in preference. Neither one is better than the other.

There's M05 from Finland (Varusteleka just got some in since it's officially deregulated in Finland), Russia has tons of it with standout ones being EMR and KLMK/Berezka, Vegato from Italy, and a bunch of others.

I got stuff I paid a lot more than 475 dollarydoos for, you know. Though you are technically right, while I paid full price for that, gen 6 (2010 model) Stealth didn't cost 475 like the current gen, but around 350 if I remember right.

Also PNV-57Es are breddy gud, especially for their price. Sure, they're no match to Gen 3 shit, but they are pretty close to Gen 2s in terms of brightness, losing out mostly due to Soviets not figuring out how to fix the fisheye distortion until late 80s. They're not the best, but they have a rather good price/quality ratio.

Anyways m8, post gear. That Exfil of yours sort of hints that you might have other cool shit lying around too, so dump away. Gear is always nice.

Cataracts are fuddlore, by Amerikanski retailers in the 90s, when Soviet stuff started flowing over for much cheaper than American NVGs. They couldn't exactly compete for the price, so the fudds just started telling that stuff.

Also, PNV-57Es don't even come with an IR light, they're passive, not active. They do get beaten by any gen 3 device hands down, and most gen 2s, but for their cost they're pretty good.

What I would recommend doing is using some elmers glue, nothing too strong, and putting a bit of it on the screws to prevent them from falling loose. I had to do that with a GBB AK because the recoil would shake them all loose

Pkmfag here. It had quite a few issues early on. Like all cheaper Chinese guns, the shimming was horrible, the compression was bad, (still shot 450 out of the box), the grease job was terrible, the Bucking tore, and the stock gears and piston bit the dust within 10k rounds.

I used a 7.4v 99% of the time both now and then. Pretty much all the internals have been replaced.

Even then it's still pretty bad.

They very much are, they're Vibrams. I haven't been able to get a hold of the older boots yet. They aren't as easy to come by as you would think.

Yeah I feel that. I've got a pair of Rothco jungle boots as an in-between for my Gulf War kit, and they're terrible.

They smell like a tire shop on a hot summer day, and are super stiff even after multiple attempts to break them in. Also they offer next to no arch support or padding, but I put in the insoles from my North Face hiking boots and that was a big help.

My advice would be to save the $30 and get a good pair of jungle boots, either real USGI or in the style.
