This year's SMUG Squad Milsim trip will be at Milsim West's The Caspian Gap on OCTOBER 21-23 IN PERRY, GA AT THE GUARDIAN CENTER. Then entire facility is in play, not just the 75 odd acres that American Milsim got access to during Ironhorse, but the ENTIRE 850 ACRES OF FIRST RESPONDER FACILITY. This includes an abandoned highway littered with cars, plenty of innawoods, and the best part of all, a huge 75 acre mout facility complete with a full-scale subway training facility. Faction will be Cossacks. required attire is a track jacket top over a telnyshka. OD or Russian cammo bottoms are preferred. Woodland if you don't have anything else.

One carpool is coming out of Conneticut going south. The second is coming out of Milwaukee-Chicago area through Indianapolis and will be picking up anyone flying into the Atlanta airport. These carpools will be leaving in time to get to Perry by 1200 on that Friday. The third carpool will be out of the Boston area and arrive a day earlier to stay at the hotel which will be our meetup point. Once we have everything we need, including any needed trips to local stores for food and other supplies, we'll head over to the AO,

VDV helmets are like 40 bucks, surplus pot helmets and infantry caps are even cheaper

Soviet Khaki uniforms are anywhere from 50-100 dollars depending on the cut, type, size and pattern but you could probably find a stand in for the uniform. Shit dude you could get away with KLMK

Chest rig could be anything from a Chinese Tricell for 30 bucks to an RD-54 for 70ish, to the Poyas (which the tricell is imitating) for 100. You could even toss a flack jacket in for around 60 bucks depending on which version.

It's not cheap, but it's far from expensive, especially if you have a gun that fits.

Three problems.


The rear sight to my knowledge, isn't actually the real one.

They decided to make some fake peep sight that gets tiring to use after long periods of time. I would replace it with a real one, but they cost over 100 fucking dollars and I can't find any replicas.


Second, is the magazine's gas release valve will unscrew after prolonged fire due to the stronger recoil, though this can be fixed with teflon tape and loctite.

The next thing, is that whatever the charging handle and receiver pin is made out of, becomes brown extremely quickly, maybe after 1-2 weeks. It's more cosmetic due to being so very light, but if you're crazy over rust you'll notice it.


Other than that? It's just fine.

Nothing has broken on me and nothing really needs fixing or replacing besides maybe the hopup bucking. It's been reliable and fun as fuck to use, and is a definite head turner on the field. It's very good on keeping gas in the mags, a full load will last you 2-3 on a bad day and 3-4 on a good day.
