This year's SMUG Squad Milsim trip will be at Milsim West's The Caspian Gap on OCTOBER 21-23 IN PERRY, GA AT THE GUARDIAN CENTER. Then entire facility is in play, not just the 75 odd acres that American Milsim got access to during Ironhorse, but the ENTIRE 850 ACRES OF FIRST RESPONDER FACILITY. This includes an abandoned highway littered with cars, plenty of innawoods, and the best part of all, a huge 75 acre mout facility complete with a full-scale subway training facility. Faction will be Cossacks. required attire is a track jacket top over a telnyshka. OD or Russian cammo bottoms are preferred. Woodland if you don't have anything else.

One carpool is coming out of Conneticut going south. The second is coming out of Milwaukee-Chicago area through Indianapolis and will be picking up anyone flying into the Atlanta airport. These carpools will be leaving in time to get to Perry by 1200 on that Friday. The third carpool will be out of the Boston area and arrive a day earlier to stay at the hotel which will be our meetup point. Once we have everything we need, including any needed trips to local stores for food and other supplies, we'll head over to the AO,

Cyclone grenades are commonly used, reusable and cheap.

There's a grenade called Kimera that is reusable, cheap and works like a charm. It is a impact grenade. Not extremely loud.
The other option is the Thunder B but these get expensive in the long run and they are not reliable as sometimes they take too much or too little to pop.

My friend had a Mark I carbine NBB that he had a ludicrous silencer on - and I mean silent, this fucker was so quiet that sometimes when people got hit they wouldn't register it because they didn't even realize someone had shot round at all. The materials are so rock solid that I had to take it to my local shop where they burnt out 3 drill bits and 4 screw extractors to get the set screw out so I could bring it down to cqb limits. (The hardened steel grub screw was poorly machined). Gonna be taking it out for the first time either tomorrow or next week. Other than that, she's a dream. Nothing rattles, everything locks tight, absolutelh zero give on the top cover rail, and internals I won't ever have to touch. Planning on eventually dropping an MTO if it's any good since the gearbox is stock standard v3 AK. Otherwise, I'll keep her as she is for Caspian Gap. Maybe switch to a flat hop depending on how she performs stock.

This setup actually proved to be very useful at spotting and stopping Japanese soldiers trying for night attacks during the fighting in the Pacific, the infrared spotlight would let the sentry see the sneaking Japs, who had no idea they were spotted, who would then suddenly take fire from someone they couldn't positively see.

Tossing a kneepad and an elbow pad in there might help you be a "spooky dude" a little more.

I don't usually wear it, it's just right now the black balaclava i had got was cheap and tore badly the last time i played with it, and all i had left is the skull balaclava i bought as a novel thing when i was new.

I'll say the same thing I say to other people getting into airsoft: Invest in a green and tan set of bdus/clothes. Kommando store has South African Nutria brown for super cheap and super comfy, green camo of all sorts is available for very cheap prices.

There are plenty of events that don't allow black, or demand tan or green uniforms, so it pays to have them.

Besides, in looking for those outfits you might find inspiration for a new kit!

At one point, I did use full camoflauge, but i didn't like the look, plus it was pointless as I was indoor.

Emerson does undersize pretty badly, i bought a pair of their pants as an upgrade to my surplus M81 BDUs before i got sick of the camo, and they didn't fit well. Or, maybe I'm just fat, you judge.

I've chose a bigger size for the black multicam for the shirt and I will for the pants if I get them, so maybe then I'll like their BDUs.

Performance wise yeah, but some of the issues like having to carry a tank and line will always be a problem.

Trying to fix a mate's Ares M4, which refuses to fire despite me taking it apart and finding no obvious fault with it.

Motor is working fine and is receiving power; when disconnected from the rest of the gun it spins and works fine, but once in place it makes a slight *clunk* and does nothing.
Barrel is clear, there's nothing jammed inside it anywhere, there's nothing broken inside of it, and yet it still doesn't function.

I've got a few m4 midcaps that are having feeding problems. As far as I've been able to identify one or two bbs get stuck when loading, I can look down the hole and see they aren't in a nice line. I'm insure if his is the problem 100% of the time, as sometimes the gun will fire the be every second shot. Is there any way to alleviate this?

I'm assuming It must be the magazines because my high cap works fine

I have the same issue with my AK except my midcaps only feed upside down. Most likely the springs are getting stuck or need to be reset.

I remember one case, where our field has benches both under cover, and in the open.
all the benches under any cover were taken
so I set up on a bench out in the open
it started to rain and a guy comes up to me and offers to let me use his (and his friends, like 4 or them's) bench.

Love it. A bitch to upgrade externally, and you're stuck with a proprietary receiver, gearbox, and hop-up chamber. Just get the metal chamber and a Element delta ring and you're all set. The gearbox is safe up to M150, and it's a dream to maintain for a V2, since it's split and disassembles like a real-steel AR-15.
