This year's SMUG Squad Milsim trip will be at Milsim West's The Caspian Gap on OCTOBER 21-23 IN PERRY, GA AT THE GUARDIAN CENTER. Then entire facility is in play, not just the 75 odd acres that American Milsim got access to during Ironhorse, but the ENTIRE 850 ACRES OF FIRST RESPONDER FACILITY. This includes an abandoned highway littered with cars, plenty of innawoods, and the best part of all, a huge 75 acre mout facility complete with a full-scale subway training facility. Faction will be Cossacks. required attire is at least a track jacket (track pants recommended) over a telnyshka. OD or Russian cammo bottoms are also acceptable if preferred. THE GROUP BUY FROM GREY-SHOP WILL BE FINALIZED TODAY. IF YOU WANT THAT RUSSIAN SHIT HAND-DELIVERED AT GAP, GET INTO THE SKYPE/DISCORD.

One carpool is coming out of Conneticut going south. The second is coming out of Milwaukee-Chicago area and will be picking up anyone flying into the Atlanta airport. These carpools will be leaving in time to get to Perry by 1200 on that Friday. The third carpool will be out of the Boston area and arrive a day earlier to stay at the hotel which will be our meetup point. Once we have everything we need, including any needed trips to local stores for food and other supplies, we'll head over to the AO,

I have way too much fucking camo and similarly too many chest rigs, but pic related is currently what I'm currently experimenting with when there's no color concern, otherwise I usually go SADF with appropriate webbing for tan and whatever RUSFOR stuff I have around for green.

Yeah, kinda, not as comfy as a Gorka or Partizan-M suit, or even the SADF uniform (not necessarily the webbing) for that matter.

I like the black base with OD on top, the SPIE rig catches some eyes. The Krinkov in the picture isn't kitted out, but the AK102 has a Bulgarian 4 piece style flash hider, Chinese Zentico copy side rail with my real steel Vortex II (with a killflash, of course), and a Asura grip, which usually gets some comments.

The UMP mags are a pain in the dick, and most of the mags that fit the Umarex are dogshit. If you can, try to get a G&G MP5, those fit the great CYMA mags. CYMA mp5s, particularly the 041 series are a solid platform if you want to learn to tech too.

Uniform is usually flavor of the day OPFOR hodgepodge unless I'm using the M4A1. Then I generally run M81 to match the rig or MultiCam ACUs if I need a tan uniform.

Love it, TAN + UCP a best combo. Optionally worn w/ shemagh/comms (Bowman headset clone).

Noicest feature: Even when worn in extreme temperatures, it's actually bearable (played with this kit in Italy at temps around 45°C). Plus it's a pretty fast kit for having a full plate carrier.

Only downsides I can think of are one of the pins is getting rusty (I live 10minutes away from the coast though) and the noise that the two pins make when you move (easily fixed with a rubber band, shock cord, paracord, etc)

I tried a PC with elastic and one with a more standard cummerbund at SS airsoft, and I'm not really willing to have a non-elastic cummerbund at this point.
Plus I want to be able to use this for real plates at some point for operating operationally innarange sometime.

I tried on a carrier with a cummerbund like the one used on the 6b46 carrier, and found it uncomfortable, I wouldn't want to use that outside of the game.
The carrier I tried on with elastic was very comforable, but unfortunately there aren't any russian carriers i've seen that have elastic cummerbunds.

I usually skip on games, and save up the cash if I want a whole new kit, that way when the next game comes, I'm prepared with a whole new set and kit.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is don't half-ass things. If you don't want to spend money to look like a Russian, don't play as one. It's like acting: if you don't look the part, then you're not as convincing. Just play as a the US side if you have the whole kit for it.

Look, if you want to look the part, just do this:
>get a Gorka suit. It's not an official way of looking like a Russian soldier, but you'll definitely look like a partisan, or a contract soldier. Gorkas go for about $70 on Grey Shop, or if you want a plain one, just get it of Ebay for cheaper(I think)
>Helmets. The closest thing to a Russian type helmet is the Mich2000. You can always buy a cover for the helmet for little on Grey Shop, so if you have the helmet, then you don't need to spend big bucks on a replica. Just my advice.

I did get a mich2000 replica and dropped a digiflora cover on it, and have a CYMA AK102.

Ah, I think I've seen you on /k/ before. So you have real guns too? Not bad. I see why you'd want that, but for the sake of fitting in, do spend extra. Get an olive green combat vest, and then you'll pretty much fit in. Make sure it's a mesh one too. Mesh ones look more like the ones Russians use.

Lad, you don't need real Russian goggles. I don't know what idiot would go the extra mile for those things. There are plenty of goggles that imitate the look, however the ones you just mentioned are kinda off. You can still run with them, but not with the desert colour. At least get the same ones, but black.

Overall, I'm glad you took the advice. I know airsoft can be daunting switching looks, but you won't need more sets other than US and Rus. I've seen people on the Red Alliance forums who go full autist, spending thousands to replicate looks of the most abstract/unknown military units from the past 60 years.

Just go modern and you'll be safe. Hell, if you get a Gorka, you can pass run the "veteran/contract/sniper" kit. All of those 3 kits work well with a Gorka, and hey, if you're a big guy, Gorkas are good that.(t. My chubs over here)

The PKM is even older than the RPK unless you wanted to do a PKP conversion, and that would be costly and expensive. For weight and ease of kit, the polymer RPK74 would be most ideal. Getting the LCT would be the highest quality to get. Otherwise, wait until sometime next year and get the LCT PKP when it comes out, provided it's under a grand.

You know what, I think you're right. Oddly enough, Ehobbyasia sells the LCT one for the same price as a European supplier sells Cyma. Crazy. However, that supplier downgrades the weapon to match Ireland's joule limit for free, and all deliveries above 200 are free. As for the Ehobby? Well, both downgrades and deliveries cost cash. Oh well, I guess it's all for quality in the end anyway.

Cyma makes both an RPK-74 and 74M (CM052a). They're solid guns and shoot well out of the box, but the LCT has better fit and finish.

Also, RPK-74s (both the wood and polymer 74M) never had drum magazines and instead used the long 45 5.45 magazines. The drum was only for the original 7.62x39mm RPK.
It's a minor thing, but using a 7.62 drum with a RPK-74M would be farby as fuck and would break an impression if you were going full autism.

In the long run you'll be happier with the pkm. The only real downsides are it's a really bulky gun, and there isn't really any comfortable way to shoot it standing up. In real life, it's mostly used mounted or from the prone. You can ad a vert grip to remedy the standing comfort however.

You could do that. I used to hold it by the carrying handle when I shoulder fired it, or kept the bi-pod folded towards me and used it like a handguard. Adding a vertgrip is prob the most comfortable way though.

Mine is the echo1 verson. My local shop had them on sale a few months back for $300 usd. The a&k is the same as the echo1 verson. With that said, out of the box I recommend you do the following.

It uses a saw style gearbox. It's a very easy gearbox to work on, as it doesn't have a trigger mechanism or contacts.

Guy with the gulf war kit here, Rothco jungle boots are the absolute worst. They have no arch support, they're hard as hell even after multiple attempts to break them in, and the rubber is super cheap and will make your house smell like a tire factory for months.

FCUs in solinoid HPA units are the Fire Control Units. They need to be connected with the gun at all times and the batteries with them, otherwise, the solinoid won't have power to work. If your battery is dead, it won't run. If your battery isn't plugged in, it won't run. If you want something that doesn't need an FCU, you'll need to get either a Tippmann M4 or a Mancraft. The former is a whole unit and the latter is semi-only, but they're mechanical so you don't have to bother about batteries and shit.

So I'm thinking of getting a Well G55 (MP5K) because it's only 40 euros for me.
