They aren't the same hook. The PKM one is bigger. One solution though would be to slip a small amount of para cord through the front sling loop to make a bigger sling loop and to attach the hook to that.

Quick question, gents.

Currently, on a fully charged 7.4, my gun shoots about 10-11 rounds a second. What gear ratio should I install that would jump that up to around 15-20 bbs a second with the same battery? Or would that be something for the motor?

Gun is currently sitting at around 380-390 fps with 0.20.

You'll want to learn to shim the gears properly. Then buy a ZCI balanced motor.

I've heard that 12:1 ratio gears work pretty well and its what im planning to put in my AK build. SHS makes pretty good gears from what i've heard. Also if your motor has standard ferromagnets then any motor with neodymium magnets would be better.

Get a high torque motor. They get up to full speed faster than the normal motors or "high speed" motors. If it's an lmg, I don't get why you'd want a super high rof. 600-650 rounds a min is perfect.

Calling all Ontariofags
Was thinking about how a STALKER themed airsoft event would be fun. There was a place that was going to do one last year but it was canceled.1
>4 teams, free stalkers, freedom, duty and monolith
>monolith is hostile to everyone and everyone is hostile to monolith, duty is hostile to freedom and freedom is hostile to duty
>free stalkers aren't so much of a team as they are independants, they can assist freedom or duty as mercenaries or join up with other free stalkers
>monolith's base/respawn holds the wish granter, which they must defend at all costs
>duty, freedom and free stalkers all share the same respawn, this area is a ceasefire zone. Here is where missions are assigned and where duty and freedom's leaders are often found.
>factions can make camps to use as forward respawns, but these are limited and can be captured by enemies
>missions can be completed to give team rewards such as the ability to make more camps, more ammunition (which is limited) ect. Monolith can take steal the mission objective to prevent the other factions from completing them.
>in the end the 3 other factions must fight each other and monolith to be the first to get to the wish granter, by using all the resources they gained from completing missions.
>the first team to capture the wish granter from monolith and then defend it from the other attacking teams for X amount of time wins. If monolith holds the wish granter for X amount of time they win.

Not sure how well this would work, and still in the process of how it would fit together but its interesting to me. If anyone has and ideas it'd be appreciated.

I've been in a few Stalker events myself, though I'm not that sure it would be fitting to call them airsoft - they worked more like LARPs, at least if you didn't go all speedsoft out there. Monolith wasn't a full fledged faction in those events, but they instead were NPCs that occasionally made appearances in the event to spice it up. Same with mutants.

I would personally say that the correct way to do it would be go with an event less focusing on constant gunfighting. At least if you ask me, what makes Stalker vidyas good is the atmosphere of desolation and emptiness, exploration and wandering, not playing it like Call of Duty: Anomalous Warfare and killing everything throughout the Zone, and the same applied fairly well to the events I were in.

There were quite a lot of players in each game, who didn't fire a single shot through the event, so I suppose I'm not the only one with those sentiments.
>>
>>1326177
Where were the events held?
Also as for the game, mostly everything would revolve around the missions given by faction leaders or the barkeep, but the missions would be different for each person, so that 2 hostile groups wouldn't run into each other all the time. Ideally the field would have to be pretty big for this to work since it being small would result in people always running into each other. Firefights would be more on the occasional side because of this, as well as the players being encouraged to avoid gunfights when possible. If you're in duty on a mission to find X its much easier to go around them and ignore each other than to fight them, since it doesn't benefit you to kill them for no reason.

So I just got one of those new metal bodied Cyma tri shots. I immediately took it to my local cqb field for my weekly team practice and I must say I am impressed. I was expecting a metal feeling DE M3 and instead I got something that shoots surprisingly well. I never felt at a loss for range like I usually do running my old Double Eagle and it keeps a pretty tight pattern.

All in all I approve. I was expecting a sturdy backup/loaner/fuckaround gun and what I got was something very skirmishable. I ended up leaving my semi-fancy AEG in the case because I was having way too much fun with the tri shot.

Not having any sights whatsoever kind of sucks. It points real well and it seemed to be firing clusters of face-seeking bbs regardless of my sight picture, but some modification is in order at least to make me feel more confident at range.

So fellow /asp/ies Ive got a really weird problem with my GHK AK. Right now its actually warmer outside than in my room but I just got back from a game and the rifle started shitting itself all the time. When firing full auto it started to spit out gas in large clouds. So now that Im at home I tested it again and to my surprise its working perfectly. I even tried different BBs just to be sure but that doesnt seem to affect it. What gives?
>>
>>1327853
Make sure you're using the same mag(s) as when it was shitting out. It sounds like your valve is sticking. If it's not take your nozzle out and check it thoroughly as it's probably got a crack in it.
>>
>>1327868
Thing is every mag did this and at home it doesnt anymore. I honestly dont understand.
>>
>>1327871
Probably a crack on your nozzle then. Constant use may have caused it to open up and now it may have moved back into place. This happened to a friend of mine. Also, what gas were you using? What was your RoF? (I mean were you dumping 10 mags through it)
>>
>>1327875
But why is there a difference between firing at home and in the field when the temperatures the same?
>>
>>1327882
Not sure. Witchcraft?
>>
>>1327889

>>
>>1325984
You need to pry the front hook open and remove it. then put it on the stock and reapplyu the hook.
>>
>>1327645
I personally hate gas everything, but that's just me. I'm also a lazy fuck who doesn't like mantaining his airshit and buying new replacement parts all the time. Not saying TM isn't space magic, but I'm just not a gas guy. I love tri shots not just because they are shotguns, but because they are simple, reliable, and generally always work. You can also play to the advantages, such as snapping quick bursts around a corner.

I like to run my Cyma 870 with an Echo1 GAT slung over my shoulder. Whenever I need some suppressing power or my shotgun runs dry I'll grab my GAT. Add a couple thunder bees in the mix and I'm not a bad door kicker. Real fun loadout, and it's always satisfying to take out some HPA running speedsofter with a spring shotgun.
>>
>>1327924
Yep, that did it. Thanks anon.

I have next to no idea about HPA or tweaking replicas so I'll ask here.
I'm planning on building a DMR and if I do I want to install a HPA system because everyone seems to agree that is the best route. Mancraft seems like a good choice because it's cheap, fully mechanical and the lack of full auto doesn't bother me at all if I'm using it for DRM purposes.

Now the thing is I checked the website and seems like the Mancraft installation removes whatever gearbox and installs the HPA system in its place. Does that mean that I can focus on getting a rifle for its aesthetic value since the internal gearbox is irrelevant?

>>

Try no less than 200€ if you want a serviceable thing. The metal quality you get with 150 is not worth it. it starts to strip the first time you need to open it.

Though I found this one http://www.taiwangun.com/en/electric/pj16a3-p-j?from=listing&campaign-id=20

Only thing A&K I have is a m249 that serves as decoration though so I cant vouch for it.

I've had A&K before and they were good for me but I want a shorter barrel and collapsible stock.
So I think with the small upgrades I want to put in it, I'm gonna be going over budget very easily if I have to add in the new barrel assembly and stock.

>>
>>1331313
If you're willing to go all out with a GHK, don't go half-assed on everything else. Get more than one spare mag and don't get that mesh mask, get some ANZI goggles with a small mesh lower. For bbs get high quality .28s, and for initial break-in, get some higher quality green gas like nuprol. Propane is a bit dirtier and you'll need to clean it more, which is fine, just don't do it when you're breaking in the thing.
>>
>>1331313
You dont want .2 plus make sure its under the fps limit of your field.

GHK owner here, new mags are tough to load, youd be loading 30-40 rounds max.

.2 will be innacurate as fuck and those will get chopped by the gun. You dont want chopped bbs in your gun.

Personal opinion but 4-6 mags total is the sweet spot.
>>
>>1331356
>>1331368

I only ever owned TM's, and we always used .2 or .23. Do guns made more recently require .28s for some reason? Why would .2 be inaccurate? Isn't that just a function of adjusting the hop-up? Why would it be 'chopped'?
>>
>>1331371
Heavier BBs exhibit less air resistance thus usually go farther with more energy when properly hopped.

.20g BBs are less dense so the chances of them breaking are much higher.
>>
>>1331371
It's a gas gun, they work on different principles, and GHK shoot pretty hot by themselves. You want the mass to take advantage of it. TMs shoot a whole lot softer and use room temperature compressed air. Heavier bbs will shoot more consistently on gas for that reason.

GHK shoot around 450ish fps. They usually come with high flow valves, which means if its cheapo bbs the nozzle will chop it trying to load the bb into the chamber.

Because of the fps, the hop up will over hop .20 and will make your gun innacurate as fuck. GHKs eat .28 and up.

So /asg/, what do you prefer: DMRs or Battle Rifles?

DMRs being Semi auto guns that fire projectiles at Bolt Action or slightly lower than Bolt Action force, and Battle Rifles being rifles that fire projectiles at standard FPS limits, but are accurized to their highest possible extent and have full auto fire capacity.
>>
>>1332179
Intermediate carbines, battle rifles are heavy and have low capacity.
>>
>>1332179
>but are accurized to their highest possible extent and have full auto fire capacity
Isn't that what a DMR is? You need to stop playing so many video games, my man.
>>
>>1332303
Definitely not. DMRs at all national events and all the fields I went to are semi auto only.
>>
>>1332179
>but are accurized to their highest possible extent
Lots of battle rifles have an MOA of 3 to 4, even higher, an FAL or M14 would not be suitable as a DMR in standard models.

>and have full auto fire capacity.
Battle rifles do not have to be select fire.
>>
>>1332179
>Battle Rifles being rifles that fire projectiles at standard FPS limits, but are accurized to their highest possible extent and have full auto fire capacity.
I don't think that definition is correct.

I use bolt action rifles because of easy of maintenance, and feedback. Got a bit bored of insert mag, take safety off, pull trigger. Needed a bit more interaction.
>>
>>1329812
poorly poured concrete/10
>>
>>1332179
A DMR is what a military uses as their force's long range service rifle that is often the intermediary with a rifleman and a sniper. They are designed to be more accurate than Assault Rifles or Battle Rifles. DMR's could be intermediary cartridges though. A battle rifle often describes a full cartridge rifle that uses 7.62 NATO.
tl;dr what the fuck are your definitions man

There's a couple cancerous "personas" that bounce between both subreddits but you can weed them out easily since all they do is post the same three guns over and over for way more than their worth and then whine that noones buying their rifles.

so, i went out and played airsoft today for the first time in a few years. the field rental gear came with a mesh facemask. now, I've always heard warnings about mesh eye pro, but figured it would be alright once, and if I enjoyed myself, I could buy a real set of goggles for the next time. What are the odds right?

Anyway, first match, first skirmish, first firefight, first hit, bb impacts mask right in front of left eye, shatters, and i feel a tiny impact in my eye. Note that I'm wearing contacts and my eye had already been bothering me slightly so I couldn't tell if anything had actually happened or if it was just air.

Anyway, about an hour and a half later, I blink out this tiny piece of plastic.

Seriously, mesh, not even once. I'm hoping that's all that was in there. Eye currently feels 100% fine.

Regardless, I had a great time and am about to drop about $500 on a kit. Just need to put together what I want.

The field is semi-only, fps limited. any suggestions? I'm leaning towards gbb for this reason.

350 with .25 is pretty average.

Hybrid electric gas is called HPA, high pressured air. It's run using an external air tank that you carry on your back with a hose that connects to the gun, usually through the grip. HPA is top of the line stuff and isn't too cheap, but it's easy to use and maintain

GHK AK or Marui Gas 870?

they're the same price with evike and airsoft GI memorial day sales because the marui is price fixed

>>1335758
Normally, but for the Marui 870, higher pressure gas can cause the gas chamber in the stock to swell in heat, making it more difficult or even impossible to remove the thing. You'll need a reinforced gas chamber, the tube stock gas chamber, or an HPA tap.

It won't explode, and you can still use duster gas. It's just an additional cost to get the reinforced gas chamber.

The 870 can use the same shells as any Marui based spring shotgun which makes getting lots of magazines really cheap, but you'll need to upgrade the tank and nozzle if you want to use anything other than 134a and live in an area with hot weather.

I tried a drop-leg holster for my MK23 (and other sidearms) but the thing didn't convince me. Even when tightened as fuck it feels to 'wobbly' and I'm constantly afraid of something happening to the replica even when secured.
I've been considering the possibility of getting one of those molle adapters and hooking a rigid holster to my chest since I really don't carry anything on the chest panel of my carrier and the position feels convenient enough for me to use.

What I want to know is if there's something negative that I should know about carrying the replica there and if anyone here knows of a not very expensive holster with good retention, in Europe if possible so I don't get raped by shipping fees.

I considered the idea, but Mk23 is 2big4me and I'd have trouble taking out the STANAGs from under it.
I eventually settled for a hip holster and a tornado holster. They're adaptable, so you can even put a LAM on the thing. Hip area is much more stable than thigh.
I've seen some french website making Kydex holsters for Mk23, but I havent heard anything about them.
>>
>>1337426
If your holster is one of those with a detachable upper part, get rid of the upper part so holster rides higher. Manufacturers like to make really long straps for some reason, and most common mistake is to wear them low.

>>
>>1337427
I'm the guy that asked the question about the spring.
I want the best performance that I can get out of a replica but I also want the bbs to hurt more as well because the more they hurt the less people want to get hit, which means that people that get hit will call the hit unless they want to keep getting hurt. It's a great anti-cheater's method honestly and with how equipped everyone goes nowadays you really need to pack a punch at certain distances.
For that same reason I always double-tap (I never play full-auto) and don't hesitate to go for headshots or buttshots if needed.

And I can assure you that you'll never see or hear me complain about bbs hurting because I know what I'm playing, the potential dangers of it and I personally want and encourage people to have their replicas as hot as the rules allow them to.

I've only tried one hip holster once and it made me feel really uncomfortable. Maybe I didn't place it correctly so I'm going to try this option too. I wore it as high as I could, mid-thigh in my case, and it worked. My problem is that the thing even when tightened as hell felt like it moved too much while running and even jogging to the point I kept constantly checking the holster.
That's why I asked about those chest-adapters and rigid holsters.

I'll just hit a shop and test a few holsters myself so that I'm sure I buy the one I'm more comfortable and safe with.

Double-point doesn't interfere much with your chest assuming you are carrying the replica front of you and not tightened to the back. Even single-point can be adjusted a bit to leave part of your chest free. Not sure if that would be enough for a Mk23+Holster though.
