Thread Topic:
What BBs do you shoot? Weight? Normal or bio? How do they feed? What kind of a gun, what mags?
>>

>What BBs do you shoot? Weight? Normal or bio? How do they feed? What kind of a gun, what mags?
I generally shoot .2s and sometimes .23s, all are normal since the biodegradable arent even that biodegradable.
For a G&P EBR and a TM HK416
>>
>>1251920
oh and the EBR uses midcaps 4 are CYMA, which work better than the metal MAG ones, and a single G&P Midcap, the TM416 uses the one Mid cap it came with and 3 TM Hi-Caps
>>
Gletcher Grach or Socom Gear Oasis?
>>
>>1251742
I only shoot lazerdot .3s, bio if the field requires. have an hpa using pmags
>>
>>1251920
>>1251933
How's the feeding?

Me, I run 0.28g G&G bios, they feed just fine in anything I've tried them with. They're pretty popular around here.
>>
>>1251742
>What BBs do you shoot? Weight? Normal or bio? How do they feed? What kind of a gun, what mags?
Elite Force normal .25s and .32s. They feed very well. .25s for my rifle and .32s for my pistol
>>
.20 vs. .12 Obviosly I only use .20 in my m4 but I've considered .25 recently. But who here shall argue for the .12
>>
>>1252024
I doubt anyone here is going to destroy their 400 dollar gun with .12s

Fucking Evike, man.
>>
>>1251962
on what brand of mags? The CYMAs feed perfect since the follower is indented as if its cupping the BB as a opposed to the rounded follower on the MAG, and the G&P. The G&P Feed alright as well, but compared to the CYMAs out of the box, Id go with them over the MAGs, I only paid forty bucks for the four pack anyways. But still the G&P Magwell is a bit too tight for the MAGs, but once you get them seated, they aint going anywhere
>>
>>1252024
>But who here shall argue for the .12
But why would you? They're only usable in cheap $10 springers since those guns can'r propel .20s at a decent enough speed to be felt.
>>
>>1252054
I just wanted to see if anyone could or would honestly
>>
>>1252032
I saw a kid using a bottle of crossman bbs from dick's sporting goods. It killed all 6 of his midcaps and shattered in his valken m4.
>>
>>1252038
Evike is a mixed bag. Some sales are better than the coupon codes, but they're a MAP seller so that makes them part of the cancer.

I run 0.4's on my Sniper as base though.

MAP is a necessary evil. Without it retailers would simply cut each other's throats. Sites like evike and airsoft GI would put every brick and mortar airsoft store out of business which would be a big blow to the game and cause fields that rely on equipment sales to go out of business.
>>
>>1252183
MAP protects other buisiness like >>1253548 said and if you want to call someone cancer the VENDOR aka the people who make the products tell companies what prices they can sell their products at. I've worked in retail and everyone complains about prices or warranties when we can only go as far as the vendors allow us to. If a company sells below that amount the vendor can just tell them to fuck off and revoke their contracts with them meaning they can't sell those products anymore.
>>
Here's a weird problem for you.

My AK has decided it wants me to have to pull the trigger four times for it to fire once. I've taken the motor off and tried it seperate from the grarbox, itt stops turning after a second or so even when I'm holding the trigger down in full auto, so it's obviously not turning far enough to pull the piston back. I've tried it with two other motors, and it's the same problem.

I'm running 7.4v lipos through a jefftron mosfet, and I've tried three different batteries too.

Which part did I break this time?

Sounds like theres something wrong with the trigger assembly. Maybe the lips aren't getting a good contact with the sledge. Maybe you've somehow burn't the contacts despite having a mosfet. There might also be a partial short circuit somewhere.

>>1254134

>>
>>1254141
I've run several Ak's for years on an 11.1 and never had a problem. Your motor is likely the issue if you're killing contacts like that.
>>
>>1254188
It's not necessarily the motor that's causing the high amp draw. If the gearbox isn't shimmed well, every motor will have hard time pulling it. Sure it can be a part of a myriad of problems though.
>>
>>1254188
I replaced the motor when I put the mosfet in. Now it's doing the quarter cycle thing after half a day's play.

How expensive it is to do a HPA conversion? I know nothing about the entire HPA thing but I got a guy willing to sell me his Vector for a good price (only one magazine though) and all people keep saying is that if I'm getting a GBB I should convert the thing to HPA or install a P*or not get a GBB at all.
>>
>>1254419
HPA is more about initial price. Once you get it going, they cost as much as a standard AEG, minus air, which is still relatively cheap.
GBB will still be expensive, simply because of magazines.
>>
>>1254466
>HPA is more about initial price
How expensive it is that initial part, more or less? Minus the price of the replica and mags.
I believe I'm supposed to convert all my mags to HPA 'drilling' for valves and whatnot as far as I can see, so for the sake of a more specific answer lets say I buy 6 mags.

I assume there are other benefits to HPA other than the relative inexpensiveness of it? More stable FPS over the course of a long match, possibility of changing pressure to increase/reduce FPS?
>>
I see a lot of HPA adaptors for regular gas mags. How does that work?
>>
>>1254419
GBB converted to HPA with magazine adapter is pain in the ass. Either you're stuck with a hicap or you have to swap the hose from mag to mag everytime you reload. If you want to convert something to HPA, go with DaytonaGun kit which is probably the most expensive way.
The cheapest Wolverine / PolarStar / Protech kits cost approx 300-500$. The more expensive models have better adjustability options.
Mancraft PDiKS is the cheapest one costing only 220€ and it works well with their own 50€ regulator. It only fires semi auto though.
Tippmann sells their own M4 rifle for 450$. It's fully mechanical like Mancraft, doesn't require a regulator at all and it has recoil.

Tanks cost about 50-200$ depending on how much air and weight you want to carry.
PolarStar, Wolverine and Protech require approx 100-150$ regulator like Ninja LPR or Wolverine Storm. They also need a small 5-10$ battery.
Remote lines cost 20-30$ and connectors maybe 5$ a piece.

>Which one is best for me?
If you want recoil, go with DaytonaGun. Tippmann if you don't want to spend too much money.
If you want the most silent DMR in the field, go with Mancraft.
If you want high RPS or burst fire, go with PolarStar / Wolverine / ProTech. I can't really say which model is the best of the bunch though.

I think Amped Airsoft has pretty straightforward website for purchasing HPA kits.

>>1254501
>I assume there are other benefits
Trigger response, adjustable RPS and they can be made very loud or very silent.

Very informative post Anon. Thank you.
I thought HPA conversion meant going the magazine adapter route exclusively. Considered everything else P*-type conversions which, even though it is the most convenient and desirable is something that I wanted to avoid because of the price.
Taking into consideration all you have said in your post I'll go either with Mancraft (cheap and I use semi-auto 90% of the time anyways) or simply use magazine adapters (cheap as well, worst case scenario I do more transitions to my sidearm and after checking some videos it's not that much of a hassle to swap hoses). That said, nothing is set on stone so I might be getting ahead of myself.
Again, thank you for your post.

If you're just using that as a lame excuse you must be a lazy fat ass.

I use Valken orange 0.25s They're only available in bulk, but they're unique and track well enough for cheaper than buying individual bottles. I've been really happy with the consistency and precision of Valken bbs after buying some of their pinks (which track horribly, but are still fairly unique). When playing outdoors I just use standard Valken 0.25 bios. They don't swell in humidity so that's good enough for me.

Honestly, I don't mind having under-18s at games. They don't show up for big outdoor things, but the 13-17-year-old ones in my area that do CQB are pretty good at following directions, calling hits, and actually being decent players.

Hello /asg/,
I come from /k/ where I just heard about milsim west and was wondering if any of you had experience with them.
I was also wondering what guns you guys recommend in the form of Russian weaponry. I'm trying to decide between gas blow back and an AEG.
I have played before, mostly backyard shit or local places, I currently have an Echo 1 MTC 2.
I've also played milsim before, but it was paintball.

Thanks

I have a situation I'd like to put out. What if your gun got hit but not you. Listen here, motherfucker. There are ways to prevent that.
1. Use deans connectors
2. Since I use an RC car battery, I made a block out of foam the gun came packed in. This keeps the bbs from falling out, keeps shit out of the open door, and protects the wires from getting hit.
3. The bb hose for the pkm is internal

You want AEG for reliability, unless you can afford a HPA rig. Since you're from /k/ I'm assuming you're not a poorfag so look at E&L or Real Sword for AK brands. If you're going to go full ruskie kit you can be a basic bitch and get a smersh & gorka, or go full blyat with the little green man look. I'm sure there are some slav pros here that will point you to the right models of equipment.

All depends on how much you wanna spend on your gun. $200 and below range will get you a steel CYMA no problem, and if you have another $50-$100, that would go a long way in getting upgrade parts for even better performance since each one could use a good shimming and an AOE adjustment. Mags are also feed very well and are cheap as dirt.

After that is the $300+ range, that's where you'll find LCTs and E&Ls, both steel AEGs with very tight fit and finishes. LCT have better internals over all, but E&L externals come with a nice blued finish if you prefer that sort of thing. Both are a bit picky with magazines, so LCT or G&P branded midcaps would be best.

In the $400+ range, that's where you'll find the only GBBRs you should even consider for MSW: GHK. They're very well known for their reliability and durability, and since they're GBBRs, they operate and takedown like real AKs. Main downside is that magazines are like $50 each and you only get 30 rounds per mag which need to be filled with gas (or CO2 if you buy the $70 CO2 mags) and they won't perform quite as well in cold temperatures. So you can very easily double the cost of your gun with a full kit.

Finally, since it's a Milsim West event, you COULD just get a real AK, set it up for blank firing and run that. You'd need a pistol or something for a sidearm to engage inside of where shooting banks would be dangerous, but it's totally something doable if you want to put in the time and money.

As for MSW as a company, their format is well regarded around here, but the Rushing Russians, the Warsaw impressionists who show up at every single MSW event, have gotten pretty obnoxious in their memeing of late. Add to that the NATO forces are basically a punching bag at this point, they don't draw the same excitement they used to. Not to say they're not a great company to go play with and they put on great events at better and better AOs, so go for it, you'll have a blast.

Alright, so if you want, you can modify your real AK for blank fire and then shoot blanks instead of BBs. It's courtesy to call hits, but it's great for setting the mood. From there, you can pick up a standard gbb pistol of your choosing and spend as little as $175 on that plus two extra mags.

If you'd rather not go the blankfire route for whatever reason, for 200-300, I'd recommend just getting a CYMA model of your choosing and installing upgrade parts. The gears and motor should all be fine, but replacing the full cylinder and barrel assemblies goes a lone way. At the very least you should reshim it and adjust for AOE. Steel CYMA AKs all have a model number of CM.04X.

>>
>>1258703
Out of the box for MSW? Probably not since they very often shoot just above 400fps brand new. You'd either need to cut the spring or maybe just break in the spring and hope it shoots low enough. Ideally, you'd want to fix the AOE and reshim to make sure it doesn't break on you half-way through the OP.
>>

Shimming is how well the gears mesh together without wobbling. AOE = angle of engagement.

The matrix mags are strange. According to the owner of the shop I work at, matrix brand stuff is just extras of what's left after a batch. So it could be any Chinese brand mag. More than likely they are cyma, but just be careful when buying matrix brand stuff. Especially bbs.
>>
>>1258743
AOE is angle of engagement, or how the Sector Gear engages with the piston. Poor AOE can result in your piston stripping.

Shimming is making sure your gears are engaging correctly and not wobbling all over the place.

Matrix mags are CYMA mags, and they're all great.

A word of advice on batteries.

1. Switch the connectors on your gun and all batteries to deans.

2. RC car lipos are cheaper and a bit more rugged.

3. If you can, get venom batteries. They have a lifetime warranty.

Not him, but I take it that soldering is necessary for this part?
>>
>>1259934
If you don't have a soldering iron, you can just tie the wires together and wrap them with electrical tape.
But that's only if you have no access to an iron.
It's like, "Yea it works, but it won't work for long and it might fuck up your gun"
>>
>>1259934
Yes, also having a helping hand soldering aid makes it infinity easier to solder these for first-timers. I myself prefer XT60 connectors compared to deans, they're pretty much better in every way.

The only difference I've noticed is the connection quality. Tamiya sometimes can back out when connected, but the connectors click together. Dean's on the other hand fit perfectly together, but don't clip together.

I have never noticed any difference in performance, at least not in basic AEGs. Maybe some high torque bullshit might need Deans.

Got the CYMA nice and dirty yesterday.

Bone stock. Going to install 120 spring and torque up motor, new gears, maybe some cylinder upgrades and probably new cylinder head sooner or later if I get around to it. Stock barrel is pretty good and accurate so might not do a tightbore.

Don't hate me for using 47 mags pls
>>
>>1261566
Buy teflon tape instead of cylinder head. Some Cymas might have really high torque 28TPA neomotors in them. Nozzle and piston are something I always upgrade. Cymas tend to have pretty strong stock springs, so I'm not sure if you need to upgrade it.

Just open it up before buying anything stupid.

When I was first getting into airsoft, I bought a JLS F2000 and a spring Benelli M3 as my first "serious" guns. Shipping was slow as balls, package finally arrives, and only the M3 is in it. I call Evike up, they say the boat coming from China that had a shipment of F2Ks got sent back by customs a week prior, and they never bothered to tell me. Once again though this was from a time when Evike's product pictures still looked like this, and I haven't had a problem with them after that.

No, because it didn't show up damaged. Warranties don't cover shit you do to them because you're an idiot. If you wanna fake it and say it came like this, give it a try. Get the marker off with some nail polish remover.

>Found a Maruzen P99 in untested condition for $60
>Can't bring it upon myself to confirm the order
Should I just roll the dice and see what comes from it?

Disregard that, I suck cocks. I've come to the conclusion that the thing is too impractical to run since on one hand I could keep the ABS slide and run only 134a, or use a metal slide with green gas and weaken the hammer spring faster than normal.
Cool gun but it's nothing too rare at the moment.
