Bret Hart fan here. And I hate Shawn Michaels for the piece of shit human being that he is.

But don't forget that HBK became champ just as Kevin Nash and Scott Hall left the company to invade WCW, and Hulk Hogan was turning heel. HBK wasn't the biggest draw ever, true. But the numbers were really stacked against him.

Yet, had Shawn been the "greatest" like many suggest, he should have still been a draw, and at least been able to sell-out his hometown.

I remember when they tried to push Lex Luger and it didn't work because the fans wanted Bret. Fans have always wanted and admired Bret, because he's genuine and it's easy to see he is honest and a good person.

Shawn Michaels is a great entertainer, and I still think he's in the top 10. (Even though I hate him.) But Michaels was never over with the fans, nor respected like Bret was.
